This book was released on 2021-03-31 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book delves into topical issues that are scarcely talked about in some organisations (secular and FBOs). It points out the sureness of succession just as death is, even though most organisations do less to think about the topic of succession until it is rather too late. Contemporary issues about succession planning were discussed using the Relay Race, Horse Race and God Factor Theories and their significance in identifying and grooming prospective successors for key and leadership positions. This book also emphasises the imperativeness of role transition either planned for or not and the attendant challenges of not planning for succession. It practically guides about how to start off a healthy and successful succession planning process from identifying prospective successors to leadership or role transition.Critical issues raised in the book and pragmatic solutions proffered have vivid applications in all organisations either FBOs or secular, which makes the book appealing to all organisations not minding its size, purpose or geographical location. The book comes at a time when some organisations are seeking to find solutions to organisational management challenges. Therefore, the book Succession Planning Basics for Faith-Based and Secular Organisations is recommended with confidence to general readership, especially to students of management, leaders in FBOs, captain of industries and as many as may want their ideals and philosophies to endure long after them.

Book Exploring Sucession Planning for Executive Leadership Positions Within Ohio s Faith based Organizations

Download or read book Exploring Sucession Planning for Executive Leadership Positions Within Ohio s Faith based Organizations written by Gilda Drammeh and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The predicted shortage in the number of qualified professionals available to fill vacant executive leadership positions is a significant concern for the non-profit sector. This qualitative multiple-case study explored the general problem of the potential lack of succession planning, resulting in the inability to identify future leaders within Ohio’s faith-based organizations. Specifically, this study concentrated on the selection process of candidates for executive leadership positions, and the succession planning process that contributed to a successful or failure to implement. In a purposeful sample, eighteen (18) senior leaders located in the eastern and western regions of Ohio, were selected for this study. As part of the conceptual framework, Hershey and Blanchard’s (1993) situational leadership theory were used to understand the group facilitator’s leadership style during succession planning activities. Data was collected and analyzed from semi-structured interviews, documents, and archival records. Findings are discussed from the perspective of senior leaders, which included current and former volunteers, and employees that previously participated in succession planning activities to appoint a new leader at Ohio’s faith-based organizations. Five themes emerged from the study and highlighted the strategies chosen by senior leaders as they prepared for succession planning activities. Furthermore, the results of this study and the future recommendations provided, contributed to the body of knowledge, and expanded the topic of succession planning for executive leadership positions in the non-profit sector.

Book A Family Systems Understanding of Transition

Download or read book A Family Systems Understanding of Transition written by Daniel Charles Russell and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This project examined the transition dynamics on middle and senior management during the pre-announcement phase of leadership succession in a faith-based organization. The literature review considered family systems theory, leadership theory and transition/succession theory to inform the study. Application of this theory was applied to leadership transition in the Book of Acts, providing a brief theological context. Both background qualitative and quantitative research was conducted, using interviews and questionnaires. This led to an Act of Ministry engagement consisting of three seminars, providing an integrated and comprehensive review of the theory. I found that leadership succession creates transition dynamics, though not to the degree expected, partly due to the faith perspective of the managers. The instruction informed and mitigated transition dynamics to a degree. The theory and conclusions presented seek to provide a resource to faith-based organizations and churches anticipating or undergoing leadership transition.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Attempts to reach an understanding of how to live a Christian life in the contemporary context have never been more necessary. This is the aim of the International Symposium: Beyond Secular Faith, an annual conference held in Granada, Spain. This volume represents the fruits of over seven years of scholarship. The title Beyond Secular Faith suggests we are interested in (re)discovering and reflectively elaborating ways to overcome the limits imposed by the dominant contemporary culture. We are convinced that only a faith liberated from the conceptual restrictions and reductions (put forward by secular philosophy and theology) and centered radically on Christ can flourish in the dimension that is proper to faith; that is, in all spheres of human life. Featuring contributions from internationally recognized philosophers and theologians such as Tracey Rowland, Jarosław Jagiello, Rocco Buttiglione, Alison Milbank, Massimo Borghesi, John Milbank, and others, we will explore a diversity of questions from this common perspective: the light of revelation illuminates how Christians should live in the modern world, leading to a new beginning.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An interfaith guide to planned giving. Planned gifts are typically the largest gifts received by a charity and can transform religious organizations and congregations to become more sustainable, impactful, and vibrant entities for decades to come. Encouraging planned gifts to congregations and religious organizations is essential at this time of tremendous generational wealth transfer; these gifts also provide an opportunity to enhance relationships between supporters and organizations. Many congregations and religious entities fear that they cannot raise these transformational gifts due to a lack of expertise among staff or volunteers, the limited financial resources of their constituents, or the simple discomfort of addressing ultimate issues with donors. Faithful Giving can help change those dynamics. The book is intentionally inclusive of Christian and other faith traditions by offering several case studies from a variety of Christian denominations and other religions, including Roman Catholic, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, and others.
