Many companies put more focus in the Change Management, other ignore it completely. We can’t stress how important it is to have a Project Manager or at least one person responsible for gathering the data and preparing the data and to be the sole point of contact with the partner that is implementing the system with you. ERP is a software infrastructure embedded with "best practices" or best ways to do business based on common business practices and academic theory. The aim is to improve the cooperation and interaction between all the organizations' departments, such as the products planning, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing and customer service department. ERP systems implementation is costly and complex. In many cases, an ERP system is the largest single investment in any corporate-wide project. The software is expensive, and the consulting costs even more. The ERP systems implementation is the process where business process and ERPsystem match each other. Usually the firm has to change the business process per ERP systems. Sometimes most positions have to be redesigned according to the ERP systems. Thus the difficulties and high failure rate in implementing ERP systems. The failure percentage of ERP systems was determined by one study as ranging from 40 to 60% and from another study as between 60 and 90% (Langernwalter, 2000). This research examines what factors facilitate or inhibit the successs of ERP projects. It uses a case study methodology to compare successful ERPimplementation with an unsuccessful one. Data was collected by conducting interiews at various levels of the subject organizations and by examining their archived records when available. The study proposes that worked with functionality, maintained scope, project team, management support, consultants, internal readiness, training, planning and adequate testing are critical to a successful ERP project implementation and also dealing with organizational diversity, development, and budgeting are other important factors that are contributing to a successful implementation.
