Book Effect of Different Phosphorus Levels on Growth and Nitrogen Fixation

Download or read book Effect of Different Phosphorus Levels on Growth and Nitrogen Fixation written by Kashif Bashir and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book basically based on an applied research whose main objectives were to: 1.To see the effect of different phosphorus levels on growth and nitrogen fixation by mash bean. 2.To determine the optimum level of phosphorus for nitrogen fixation by mash bean. In the course of this research experiment we concluded that N2 fixation capacity and yield components of mash bean were enhanced by the application of phosphorus. Response of mash bean was more pronounced to the highest and medium levels of phosphorus fertilization as compare to low level of phosphorus and control.

Book The Indian Nitrogen Assessment

Download or read book The Indian Nitrogen Assessment written by Yash P. Abrol and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-08-14 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Indian Nitrogen Assessment: Sources of Reactive Nitrogen, Environmental and Climate Effects, and Management Options and Policies provides a reference for anyone interested in Reactive N, from researchers and students, to environmental managers. Although the main processes that affect the N cycle are well known, this book is focused on the causes and effects of disruption in the N cycle, specifically in India. The book helps readers gain a precise understanding of the scale of nitrogen use, misuse, and release through various agricultural, industrial, vehicular, and other activities, also including discussions on its contribution to the pollution of water and air. Drawing upon the collective work of the Indian Nitrogen Group, this reference book helps solve the challenges associated with providing reliable estimates of nitrogen transfers within different ecosystems, also presenting the next steps that should be taken in the development of balanced, cost-effective, and feasible strategies to reduce the amount of reactive nitrogen. - Identifies all significant sources of reactive nitrogen flows and their contribution to the nitrogen-cycle on a national, regional, and global level - Covers nitrogen management across sectors, including the environment, food security, energy, and health - Provides a single reference on reactive nitrogen in India to help in a number of activities, including the evaluation, analysis, synthesis, documentation, and communications on reactive nitrogen

Book Agroecology of Edible Weeds and Non Crop Plants

Download or read book Agroecology of Edible Weeds and Non Crop Plants written by Roland Ebel and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2024-09-19 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agroecology of Edible Weeds and Non-Crops: Ecological and Socio-Economic Potential of the Associated Biodiversity is the first book to move beyond the ethnobotanical aspect of under-utilized non crops to explore how to optimize their potential. Those interested in increasing the diversity of the farming landscape and food systems by means of edible non-crop plants have access to a plethora of information on the ethnobotany of these species. Yet little to no information exists on the agroecological requirements and potential benefits of underutilized edible non-crop plants in the context of sustainable farming systems. This book fills that knowledge gap from identifying edible weeds and non-crop plants, to exploring the ways these plants can be used to economically improve nutrition. With case studies of edible weeds and non-crop plants from around the world, including Europe and North America, in urban as well as rural settings, the book highlights the global opportunities provided by these plants. Agroecology of Edible Weeds and Non-Crops includes much needed information for identifying, maintaining and benefitting from these plant species. It is ideal for agricultural professionals, educators, researchers, and students - Evaluates ecological processes underpinning the abundance and diversity of edible non-crop plants - Assesses ecological benefits of these species within agroecosystems - Identifies socioeconomic barriers and incentives in exploiting consumable agricultural biodiversity - Highlights real-world insights through case studies

Book Effect of integrated nutrient management under Punjab conditions on late sown mustard Brassica campestris L

Download or read book Effect of integrated nutrient management under Punjab conditions on late sown mustard Brassica campestris L written by Divya Jain and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2021-07-13 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2020 in the subject Instructor Plans: Agriculture / Forestry / Gardening, grade: 8.5, , language: English, abstract: The present investigation entitled “Effect of integrated nutrient management on late sown mustard under punjab conditions (Brassica campestris L.)” was conducted during rabi season of 2018-19 with the objective to find out the impact of integrated nutrient management on growth, yield, nutrient content, nutrient uptake and economics of Mustard. The soil of experimental field was clay loam texture, alkaline in nature with pH (7.91), EC is (0.59) and available nitrogen (205.5) kg ha-1, available phosphors (12.7 kg ha-1), available potassium (231.5 kg ha-1), available sulphur (7.50 kg ha-1), available zinc (0.94) and boron (0.72 mg kg-1). The experimental results revealed that significantly maximum growth parameters (plant height, branches plant-1, dry matter accumulation, and leaf area index), yield attributes (siliqua length, siliquae plant-1, seeds siliqua-1and test weight), yield (grain and stover), nutrient uptake(N, P, K, S, Zn and B) by grain and stover and available soil nutrient (N, P, K, S, Zn, and B), were noticed under the application of 100% NPK+40 kg S+1.5 B+20 kg Zn ha-1 as compared to rest of the treatments. The increment in seed yield under application of 100% NPK+40 kg S+1.5 B+20 kg Zn ha-1 was 25.32 % over 100% NPK. Likewise, maximum gross return, net return and B:C ratio were also recorded with the application of 100% NPK+40 kg S+1.5 B+20 kg Zn ha-1. Besides, this combination also improves the quality of produce and physico-chemical properties of soil. The results revealed that among nutrient management practices, the application of 75% RDF + FYM 10t ha-1 being at par with 75% RDF + vermicompost 5t ha-1 recorded maximum growth and yield attributes, grain (24.14 and 21.74 q ha-1, respectively), strover (81.75 and 75.24 q ha-1, respectively) & biological yield (104.82 and 99.44 q ha-1, respectively), nutrient content and NPK uptake of mustard. In contrast, the application 75% RDF + FYM 10t ha-1 exhibited maximum net return (43228.5 ₹ ha-1) and B: C (1.05) of mustard.
