Book The State of the Psychoanalytic Nation Volume I

Download or read book The State of the Psychoanalytic Nation Volume I written by Paul Cundy and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-12-01 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book charts the ways in which psychoanalytic psychotherapy has been implemented, developed and researched within the public sectors of twelve different countries around the world. It discusses how psychoanalytic practitioners locally have responded to the challenge of evidence-based practice. For each country the authors describe: • How people can access talking therapies as part of the national healthcare system, including a brief history of how this system has developed and the place of psychoanalytic psychotherapy inside/outside of this system historically • How clinicians train and qualify as a psychoanalytic practitioner, and demographic profiles of their communities of psychoanalytic practice • How evidence-based practice has impacted the mental health system and, in particular, access to and provision of talking therapies e.g. through the development and implementation of treatment guidelines • How outcome monitoring and reporting of access, waiting times and recovery rates are used in the commissioning and provision of psychological therapies • What is needed to secure a viable future for psychoanalytic psychotherapy The first of two volumes, this book will be of great interest to all practicing psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic psychotherapists. The chapters in these volumes were originally published as special issues of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Download or read book Nuevos desarrollos en el tratamiento del Trastorno de Ansiedad Generalizada written by Ignacio Etchebarne and published by Miño y Dávila. This book was released on 2019-05-31 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The time is ripe, more than fifty years after the publication of the magnum opus by Perls, Hefferline & Goodman, to publish a book on the topic of cre ativity in Gestalt therapy. The idea for this book was conceived in March 2001, on the island of Sicily, at the very first European Conference of Gestalt Therapy Writers of the European Association [or Gestalt Therapy. Our start ing point was an article on art and creativity in Gestalt therapy, which was presented there by one of the editors, and illuminated by a vision, held by the other editor, of bringing together colleagues from around the world to contribute to a qualified volume on the subject of creativity within the realm of Gestalt therapy. We wanted to continue the professional discourse inter nationally and capture the synergetic effects of experienced colleagues' re flections on various aspects of our chosen subject. Moreover, we intended to explore how the theoretical reflection of one's practice can inspire effective interventions and, vice versa, how the discussion of practical experiences can shape new theoretical directions. Hence, our aim in this book is to create a forum on the concept of creativ ity in Gestalt therapy.

Book Landscapes of the Psyche Sandplay in Jungian Analysis

Download or read book Landscapes of the Psyche Sandplay in Jungian Analysis written by Paolo Aite and published by Ipoc Press. This book was released on 2007 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the result of research carried out by Paolo Aite, who for over thirty years has introduced sandplay in adult analysis into Italy. This method is becoming more and more popular among Jungian analysts, both in Italy and abroad, in private as well as in public practice. But just what is sandplay in analysis? It is not another kind of therapy. It is preverbal communication through images that goes hand in hand with communication through words. By means of the physical experience of playing with sand and using objects, a symbolization of deep emotions is set into motion which speech, more closely linked to the defences, can only partly express. This is a perspective which brings out the close relationship between words and images and makes it possible to study the transforming moment when emotions take on a visual representation, changing the feeling tone of the analytical relationship. Contained in the spatiotemporal organization of the play scene is a precise interpretation through images of the intrapyshic and interpersonal experience shared by the patient and the therapist in the analytical relationship. The purpose of analysis is to succeed in expressing in words the whole transforming potential of the symbolic image which has inspired the play scene and the emotions shared in the analytical relationship. This research, which springs from the theoretical hypotheses of Carl Gustav Jung, addresses central issues of his thinking which have yet to be thoroughly explored, full as they are of potential development, both theoretical and clinical.

Book Psychoanalysis as a Journey

Download or read book Psychoanalysis as a Journey written by Franco Borgogno and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together twelve of Franco Borgogno's essays written since 1981. Revised and brought up to date for this edition, they give the reader an idea of the development of his philosophical and working stance, as he has progressed from being a trainee to becoming a training analyst. Psychoanalysis as a Journey is a title which perfectly mirrors the essays it contains: the reference is to the journey of insights in the minds of the pioneers of psychoanalysis, Freud in particular, but also Ferenczi, Heimann, Bion; the journey made by their legacy in psychoanalytic institutions, the journey made by the analyst as he grows, learns and applies what he has learnt, and also the journey of the patient. A highly stimulating and thought-provoking volume. It is quite rare to come across a book that combines sound theoretical and clinical psychological arguments with generous disclosure of the progression and development of an author's thought. What this volume offers, however, is just such an itinerary, or rather journey, and moroever one that is strictly psychoanalytic. Different levels of this journey emerge as we read. The first is that of Freud's theoretical development, from his first intuitions that led to the creation of psychoanalysis, to the key works of his maturity. Another concerns the vicissitudes of every psychoanalytic process as manifested in the analyst-patient interaction. A further level of this journey is the evolution of the analytic thought of Franco Borgogno himself, as reflected in the sequence of papers he presents to us here and the highly involving theoretical odyssey they prove to be.
