Book excerpt: In terms of attitudes towards chemistry learning, students who used the computer-based lesson, had more positive attitudes towards chemistry. In terms of perceptions of chemistry lessons, students who learned chemistry through CAL had perceptions which were substantially more positive. This study also suggested that the CAL lessons did not have a substantially-greater impact on one gender over another. Ancillary objectives included, first, developing an innovation in computer-assisted learning, involving the teaching of chemistry for remedial education in Indonesian high schools, and second, developing and validating several instruments for assessing computer-based chemistry learning and aspects of the learning environment.
