Book Nordsyn study on air to water heat pumps in humid Nordic climate

Download or read book Nordsyn study on air to water heat pumps in humid Nordic climate written by Stignor, Caroline Haglund and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2019-05-03 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study presented in this report has been performed for Nordsyn sponsored by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The aim of this study was to analyse if the information given on the energy labels of air-to-water heat pumps give consumers in Nordic countries sufficient information on energy performance. When comparing results from field measurements to declared values, it shows the declared values are usually better than the field data, especially in countries with humid climate. There could be several reasons for this deviation as non-optimal installations, bypass of control systems, old field data etc. The suspicion that the deviation is due to that the standard tests do not take humidity sufficiently into account could not be proved nor fully dismissed. Recommendations are given on how this could be further investigated, including field measurements in Nordic countries.

Book Nordsyn study on air to air heat pumps in humid Nordic climate

Download or read book Nordsyn study on air to air heat pumps in humid Nordic climate written by Stignor, Caroline Haglund and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2019-05-09 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study was performed for Nordsyn sponsored by Nordic Council of Ministers. The aim was to analyse if the energy labels of air-to-air heat pumps give consumers in Nordic countries sufficient information on energy performance, since declared performance was suspected to be higher than in reality. Due to very few field measurements available, this suspicion could not be confirmed nor rejected. It was found that many heat pumps are declared for lower capacities compared to their intended use in the Nordic countries, to obtain a higher SCOP value on the energy label. Market surveillance tests show that it has become rarer that heat pumps defrost during the laboratory tests. Altogether the study shows that the current energy label does not give clear guidance to the consumer. Recommendations for field measurements as well as suggestions for standard and regulation developments are given.

Book Nordic Co operation Programme on Energy Policy 2022 2024

Download or read book Nordic Co operation Programme on Energy Policy 2022 2024 written by Nordic Council of Ministers Secretariat and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2021-12-13 with total page 31 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Available online: https://pub.norden.org/politiknord2021-731/ The Nordic energy ministers present a new Nordic energy policy co-operation programme for the period 2022–2024. The Nordic Region wants to be the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030, and that is also the overall vision for co-operation on energy. A green transition of the Nordic societies will not be possible without a substantial green energy transition. As the Nordic energy systems are closely linked, working together on joint initiatives will lead to a green transition that is more cost-effective and socially sustainable than if the countries were each to achieve the goals individually. In 2020, the Nordic Council of Ministers for Energy Policy (MR-E) adopted seven focus areas as input into the action plan for Our Vision 2030. These will structure Nordic energy co-operation during the period covered by the programme and be at the heart of all of the work: - The green transition of the energy sector - Closer collaboration on research to aid the green transition - Nordic co-operation in the electricity market - Energy efficiency, technology and behavioural change - Working together on EU/EEA-related energy questions - Social acceptance of new energy plants and the green transition - The green transition of the transport sector.

Book Demand response in the Nordic electricity market

Download or read book Demand response in the Nordic electricity market written by THEMA Consulting Group and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2014-09-10 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report provides input to a Nordic strategy on how to address consumer flexibility in a cost-efficient manner. The main recommendation is to focus on increased market efficiency in general and not promote specific measures on the demand side unless market failures are identified. Even so, it’s recommended that standard data formats on price signals to small consumers should be further assessed.

Book Nordic criteria for Green Public Procurement GPP for alternatives to high GWP HFCs in RAC products

Download or read book Nordic criteria for Green Public Procurement GPP for alternatives to high GWP HFCs in RAC products written by Poulsen, Tomas Sander and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2020-07-06 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Available online: http://norden.diva-portal.org/smash/record.jsf?pid=diva2:1452437 The project developed Green Public Procurement (GPP)criteria for environmentally friendly alternatives in the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) sector. The problem with sector in the Nordic countries is that it contains large installed amounts of very strong climate gases, the HFCs. The total Nordic installed amount in 2018 is estimated to be approx. 43.5 million tons CO2 eqv. A market study roughly estimates that appr. 10 % are publicly owned installations. The project has formulated green procurement criteria for 25 product categories, based on screening data of the current technology stage for low GWP refrigerants and energy efficiency in different RAC product categories. The criteria can be directly inserted into tender documents. The overall conclusion is that natural refrigerants are applicable for most RAC products at equal cost and can be used as a selection criteria in GPP.

This book was released on with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the seventh directory of research, development and demonstration projects carried out within the field of energy, and of energy-related subjects, in the Nordic countries. The directory incorporates projects in progress during 1989. 2209 projects, most of which are financed by special public funds, are described. In addition to projects concerning energy sources, energy utilization and energy conservation, the directory also includes descriptions of research on environmental, ecological and socioeconomic issues, etc., where these are related to the main subject. The directory thus provides direct access to topical information relevant to a very comprehensive field of research. In the appendices the organization of the Nordic Energy Research Programme, and of energy research in each Nordic country, is explained, and the content and uses of the Nordic data base, Nordic Energy Index, are described. Names of people to contact, addresses, telephone numbers and other useful information, can also be found in addition to details about newsletters providing information on current research in some of the Nordic countries.

Book Energy Efficiency in Buildings

Download or read book Energy Efficiency in Buildings written by José Manuel Andújar and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-04-28 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Buildings are one of the main causes of the emission of greenhouse gases in the world. Europe alone is responsible for more than 30% of emissions, or about 900 million tons of CO2 per year. Heating and air conditioning are the main cause of greenhouse gas emissions in buildings. Most buildings currently in use were built with poor energy efficiency criteria or, depending on the country and the date of construction, none at all. Therefore, regardless of whether construction regulations are becoming stricter, the real challenge nowadays is the energy rehabilitation of existing buildings. It is currently a priority to reduce (or, ideally, eliminate) the waste of energy in buildings and, at the same time, supply the necessary energy through renewable sources. The first can be achieved by improving the architectural design, construction methods, and materials used, as well as the efficiency of the facilities and systems; the second can be achieved through the integration of renewable energy (wind, solar, geothermal, etc.) in buildings. In any case, regardless of whether the energy used is renewable or not, the efficiency must always be taken into account. The most profitable and clean energy is that which is not consumed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Economic growth is resuming, but challenges remain. Gradual fiscal consolidation is required over the short term to support the return of inflation to target and rebuild fiscal space, following substantial support during the pandemic and the energy crisis. Growing spending needs due to ageing and investment necessary to support the green transition call for tax reforms to strengthen revenues. Supply-side reforms are needed to sustain growth, including by providing businesses with certainty regarding taxation and land use planning to boost investment, and by strengthening work incentives to reduce economic inactivity. The United Kingdom is a front runner in the progress to reach net zero by 2050, but more effort is needed to accelerate emission reductions in residential housing, including a clear long-term strategy, pricing signals, regulatory timelines, and financial support to stimulate the market for decarbonised heating solutions. SPECIAL FEATURES: BOOSTING LABOUR SUPPLY; ENHANCING BUSINESS INVESTMENT TO LIFT PRODUCTIVITY; GREENING THE RESIDENTIAL HOUSING SECTOR
