Book Status of Thermal Imaging Technology as Applied to Conservation update 1

Download or read book Status of Thermal Imaging Technology as Applied to Conservation update 1 written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document updates the 1978 report on the status of thermal imaging technology as applied to energy conservation in buildings. Thermal imaging technology is discussed in terms of airborne surveys, ground survey programs, and application needs such as standards development and lower cost equipment. Information on the various thermal imaging devices was obtained from manufacturer's standard product literature. Listings are provided of infrared projects of the DOE building diagnostics program, of aerial thermographic firms, and of aerial survey programs. (LCL).

Book Applications of Thermography for Energy Conservation in Industry

Download or read book Applications of Thermography for Energy Conservation in Industry written by Charles W. Hurley and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Infrared thermography has been developed as a tool to measure the temperature of various types of surfaces. Notable applications include thermal detection of buildings to detect heat losses. It was the intent of the NBS IR program to build on these technologies to assist energy conservation engineers to assess heat losses in industrial plants. Our intent in this project was to survey furnaces and heating systems in addition to electrical and mechanical systems to find areas suggesting energy conserving actions. This survey method described in this paper was carried out in fifteen industrial plants to develop a methodology and examine the feasibility of the approach. In addition to the qualitative survey quantitative data was gathered by calibrating the temperature of the 11 hot spots uncovered in the survey. This information was very useful in developing priorities and estimating the magnitude of the heat loss due to a given defect.

Book Thermal Cameras in Science Education

Download or read book Thermal Cameras in Science Education written by Jesper Haglund and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-15 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a collection of educational research and developmental efforts on the rapidly emerging use of infrared cameras and thermal imaging in science education. It provides an overview of infrared cameras in science education to date, and of the physics and technology of infrared imaging and thermography. It discusses different areas of application of infrared cameras in physics, chemistry and biology education, as well as empirical research on students’ interaction with the technology. It ends with conclusions drawn from the contributions as a whole and a formulation of forward-looking comments.
