Download or read book Analysis of Ambulance Complaints Databasing Statistical Reporting and More written by Steven Gilbert and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2020-03-19 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is meant to be a reference book for ambulance investigators. Its primary focus is the importance of the investigative unit’s database, especially databasing information from individual complaints, as well as self-generated investigations. It includes a concept called “the family of complaint types”, which lists 494 related reports. Additionally, there are 543 other database reports that pertain to one or more of 46 investigative categories. From an investigative point-of-view the book covers what information should be databased, why so much information should be databased, the investigative benefits of entering so much information into the database, four sources for statistical information, the presentation of investigative stats, and lastly, the importance of a yearly Investigative Unit recap report. The first section covers a potpourri of topics which are not database related. These topics include information on complaints, what we can learn from complaints, investigations and cases, a formal investigative process, the importance of contacting the complainant as soon as possible after being assigned the case, a coverup is always worse than the original incident, negative EMS perception, the Media, the use of drones in EMS investigations, investigative vital signs, and the history of the investigative unit. The remainder of the sections pertain to databasing.

Download or read book General Statistics written by Victor Aladjev and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-10-17 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is a statistic course for undergraduate students in all fields of social and economic sciences. The book presents a manual on a course "General Statistics", including a series of not quite traditional topics. Above all, it concerns the mathematical bases of statistics and use of computer technologies in statistic probing. At that, thematic choice of the chapters and sections of the book is caused not only by interests and tastes of the authors, but also by modern tendencies in applied statistics and orientation of the given work. The book contains a series of concrete proposals for improvement of statistic practice; many of them are based on our experience in practical statistical activity in statistical organs of USSR and Estonia. A comparability aspect of the Soviet statistic school inheriting many traditions of the worldwide known Russian school of probability theory and statistics, with western statistics can be a rather interesting to the English-speaking reader.

Download or read book Medical Statistics written by Stephen J. Walters and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-02-01 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 5th edition of this popular introduction to statistics for the medical and health sciences has undergone a significant revision, with several new chapters added and examples refreshed throughout the book. Yet it retains its central philosophy to explain medical statistics with as little technical detail as possible, making it accessible to a wide audience. Helpful multi-choice exercises are included at the end of each chapter, with answers provided at the end of the book. Each analysis technique is carefully explained and the mathematics kept to minimum. Written in a style suitable for statisticians and clinicians alike, this edition features many real and original examples, taken from the authors' combined many years' experience of designing and analysing clinical trials and teaching statistics. Students of the health sciences, such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and radiography should find the book useful, with examples relevant to their disciplines. The aim of training courses in medical statistics pertinent to these areas is not to turn the students into medical statisticians but rather to help them interpret the published scientific literature and appreciate how to design studies and analyse data arising from their own projects. However, the reader who is about to design their own study and collect, analyse and report on their own data will benefit from a clearly written book on the subject which provides practical guidance to such issues. The practical guidance provided by this book will be of use to professionals working in and/or managing clinical trials, in academic, public health, government and industry settings, particularly medical statisticians, clinicians, trial co-ordinators. Its practical approach will appeal to applied statisticians and biomedical researchers, in particular those in the biopharmaceutical industry, medical and public health organisations.
Download or read book Nonparametric Statistics for Health Care Research written by Marjorie A. Pett and published by SAGE Publications. This book was released on 2015-06-29 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do you do when you realize that the data set from the study that you have just completed violates the sample size or other requirements needed to apply parametric statistics? Nonparametric Statistics for Health Care Research was developed for such scenarios—research undertaken with limited funds, often using a small sample size, with the primary objective of improving client care and obtaining better client outcomes. Covering the most commonly used nonparametric statistical techniques available in statistical packages and on open-resource statistical websites, this well-organized and accessible Second Edition helps readers, including those beyond the health sciences field, to understand when to use a particular nonparametric statistic, how to generate and interpret the resulting computer printouts, and how to present the results in table and text format.

Book excerpt: The get-it-over-with-quickly approach to statistics has been encouraged - and often necessitated - by the short time allotted to it in most curriculums.
