Book excerpt: I write this book aims to readers feel whether space exploitation will brings human which aspects of benefits. I shall indicate these several aspects to let you think. This book divides three aspects of space exploration benefits to be explained. Firstly, I shall indicate space tourism leisure aspect benefit: Whether will future space tourism market development be popular to travelling consumers in global? What factors can influence traveler prefer to choose space tourism entertainment? How to predict future space tourism traveler individual entertainment desire whether it strong or weak? How to attract travelers to choose space tourism entertainment? What entertainment benefits to human to earn when we spend space tourism leisure. In this space tourism leisure benefit aspect, I shall apply psychologists and space tourism entertainment businessmen opinions to attempt to answer above questions. Readers will have new knowledge and mind to learn how to predict future space tourism leisure business development will bring human what aspect of benefits. Secondly, I shall indicate what aspects of related benefits which space exploration will brings related benefits to human future essential history development. In this space exploration related benefits aspect, I shall indicate whether which kind of natural resource will have potential effort to provide human to explore in order to solve energy shortage crisis. I also indicate which challenges human will face in our exploring of this kind of natural resource process and indicate opinions to solve them. Then, I shall indicate how my scientific computer industry development trend which will have related benefits from space exploration. Human can invent scientific computer products to be applied to which kinds of aspects in our daily life. Next, I shall explain how space exploration will bring future biotechnology reproductive science benefits. Finally, I shall explain why space exploration will bring global health benefits to us, as well as explain how and why space exploration will assist health science to raise excellent health service performance to serve patients efficiently and satisfactory. Thirdly, it concerns to explain this question. Can space exploration raise human standard of life quality ? In this human standard of life quality benefit aspect, I give opinions to judge whether human can get what economy or human life benefits or disadvantages to influence our society from any space resources exploration missions in possibility. Such as water, foods, energy, oil, gas, soil that human will either find or won't find in space in possibility. Thus, consequently, if human can find these any one of natural resource from space that it is worth to spend money and time and human resource to invest to these space exploration missions.

Book International Space Exploration Benefits and Values

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When discussing the advancement of space science and space technology, most people think about deep space flights, lunar stations, and thrilling outer space adventures. The fact is that the majority of the human technology in space, which consists of interconnected satellites, points towards Earth, and is used to provide services for and fulfil the goals of people on planet Earth. Over the next decade, there will be an increased need for innovative Earth information systems to support the international space community's efforts to provide a robust infrastructure. Space exploration requires vast sums of money. Is the amount of money spent on space research justifiable? Could the money be better spent? There has always been considerable discussion about whether governments should spend tax payers' money on space research. In my view it is impossible to justify the amount of money spent on such projects. Generally speaking, the main reason for this position is that there are several areas in which the money could be invested better. The first point to make is that politicians have a responsibility to spend public money on projects that bring a benefit to the general public. This has not been the case with space research as most developments have been limited to helping astronauts in space or have been very specialised. For example, it is not of great value to the general public that we now have pens and biros that can write upside down. This does not merit the huge amount of money spent. Thus, I feel it is very difficult to justify whether space exploration is value to invest or not at present. We need to wait time to observe whether what the main rewards or benefits to human in the future. However, I shall indicate what benefits human can get from any products or services of space exploration in this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During 1988, the National Research Council's Space Science Board reorganized itself to more effectively address NASA's advisory needs. The Board's scope was broadened: it was renamed the Space Studies Board and, among other new initiatives, the Committee on Human Exploration was created. The new committee was intended to focus on the scientific aspects of human exploration programs, rather than engineering issues. Their research led to three reports: Scientific Prerequisites for the Human Exploration of Space published in 1993, Scientific Opportunities in the Human Exploration of Space published in 1994, and Science Management in the Human Exploration of Space published in 1997. These three reports are collected and reprinted in this volume in their entirety as originally published.

Book Space Exploration Possible Economic Benefits

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On space science continue researching and development aspect: Why do space scientists need to continue space science research, if they hope to explore Mars more easily? Because we live in a society which depends on science and technology, those are very essentials seem undervalued perhaps because they are not understood. There are great concern in some quarter about the inadequacies and shortcomings in science funding, science education and the way space science in communicated to the public. For these questions example: Why do we need to choose Mars to live? How do we need explore Mars to live in success? What benefits and risks do we encounter in this Mars exploration process? So, space scientists have responsibilities to let pubic to know because they need people vote to support their Mars exploration mission. If people do not understand engine science , space science, medical science or whatever, then they are not equipped to vire knowledgeably on science issues. In space science, there are two main but not necessarily separate for spending, sometimes referred to collectively as research and development. Research is the acquisition of new knowledge. Development is the application of existing knowledge to new or improved user, such as exploration continue research of any new space exploration knowledge to Mars as well as they also need to learn how to apply existing Mars exploration knowledge to new or improved uses. However, there is no way of knowing where or when any kinds of new Mars exploration knowledge will find a practical application. But they need still continue to research and develop any possible new kinds of Mars exploration new technology. However, researching and development is impossible without approval and funding. It is safe to say. Then, that some of the most vital work done, such as Mars exploration by space scientists is in preparing their funding applications. Also, space science is a around field, with a vary limited number of resources for cutting edge research. An idea for research and there is a fair chance that someone has already thought or it is already working on other similar earth seven planets , or other undiscovered researching planets which choice has higher successful chance to implement human living another earth mission. So, choice of which one space exploration mission is the best, it needs space scientists compare their benefits and risks in order to make final space exploration decisions.

Download or read book Recapturing a Future for Space Exploration written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2012-01-30 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than four decades have passed since a human first set foot on the Moon. Great strides have been made in our understanding of what is required to support an enduring human presence in space, as evidenced by progressively more advanced orbiting human outposts, culminating in the current International Space Station (ISS). However, of the more than 500 humans who have so far ventured into space, most have gone only as far as near-Earth orbit, and none have traveled beyond the orbit of the Moon. Achieving humans' further progress into the solar system had proved far more difficult than imagined in the heady days of the Apollo missions, but the potential rewards remain substantial. During its more than 50-year history, NASA's success in human space exploration has depended on the agency's ability to effectively address a wide range of biomedical, engineering, physical science, and related obstacles-an achievement made possible by NASA's strong and productive commitments to life and physical sciences research for human space exploration, and by its use of human space exploration infrastructures for scientific discovery. The Committee for the Decadal Survey of Biological and Physical Sciences acknowledges the many achievements of NASA, which are all the more remarkable given budgetary challenges and changing directions within the agency. In the past decade, however, a consequence of those challenges has been a life and physical sciences research program that was dramatically reduced in both scale and scope, with the result that the agency is poorly positioned to take full advantage of the scientific opportunities offered by the now fully equipped and staffed ISS laboratory, or to effectively pursue the scientific research needed to support the development of advanced human exploration capabilities. Although its review has left it deeply concerned about the current state of NASA's life and physical sciences research, the Committee for the Decadal Survey on Biological and Physical Sciences in Space is nevertheless convinced that a focused science and engineering program can achieve successes that will bring the space community, the U.S. public, and policymakers to an understanding that we are ready for the next significant phase of human space exploration. The goal of this report is to lay out steps and develop a forward-looking portfolio of research that will provide the basis for recapturing the excitement and value of human spaceflight-thereby enabling the U.S. space program to deliver on new exploration initiatives that serve the nation, excite the public, and place the United States again at the forefront of space exploration for the global good.

Book excerpt: For a long time what we now know as space was inaccessible to humans, not because it was at a height which was unattainable without the least astronautical technology or principles, but because of the cosmic and dualistic representation of reality. Humans were relegated to the centre, to a sort of ecesspiti of imperfection, alteration, incompleteness and finally death. Around them were crystal spheres which held the planets and starsoimmutable, eternal and perfectoa domain which was completely off-limits to humans, unless they had discarded their carnal envelope, either through a mystical experience or after death. It took a revolution, the Copernican Revolution, to shatter the celestial spheres and make them no longer forbidden territory. Galileo was one of the first revolutionaries: through his astronomical observations, he showed the Earth and the Sky were in fact made of the same fabric, the same material, and therefore belonged to the same world. Then followed Kepler and others. Centuries passed, and human conquered the air, and then space. Their feet touched the surface of the Moon and their wheels the surface of Mars. The Earth and the entire universe somehow became flat again with no folds, no curves, at least in appearance, to hide any dark corners. The horizon once again retreated out of reach taking with it perhaps the last dreams of exploration. The human imagination does not like horizons which are too flat, too clear; humanity needs to meet resistance, brakes, constraints to stop them in their tracks, to cross them and lead them, to new unknown territories. An impossible Horizon, writes Jacques Arnould in this work, but a horizon without which our adventures, our explorations would lose their savor and especially their meaning. We will then understand that even if the goal is never fully achieved, it is the quest that enriches us.i Bertrand Piccard. (Balloonist, aviator and psychiatrist, Bertrand Piccard is the first to complete a non-stop balloon flight around the globe, in a balloon named Breitling Orbiter 3. With Andre Borschberg, he is the initiator, chairman, and pilot of Solar Impulse, the first successful round-the-world solar powered flight)

Book excerpt: How space exploration delivers benefits. On space exploration how delivers benefits hand, space benefits can be categorized as either direct or indirect. The direct benefits of exploration include the generation of scientific knowledge, the diffusion of innovation and creation of markets, the inspiration of people around the world, and agreements forged between the countries engaged in exploration. The indirect benefits of exploration, it includes tangible enhancement to the quality of life, with as improved economic prosperity, health, environmental quality, safety and security.Possibilities for benefit creation, when the products of space exploration interact with the imagination and creativity present. Cultural benefits may depend on exploration mission stories and images spreading broadly across society. Education organizations can earn benefits to maximize societal impact, space agencies share space exploration results to cooperate with research institutions, businesses, universities, schools, museums to learn space science knowledge in societies. TO sum up, the direct benefits include humans are inspired, scientific knowledge is generated, innovation is transferred to applications, capacity and productivity of working in space are enhanced, markets for space products and services are created and international space exploration partnership strength as well as the indirect benefits include economic prosperity, health improvement , environmental benefit, safety and security , human experience is expanded, understanding of humankind's place in the universe is enhanced. On innovation and economic benefits hand, the challenge of space exploration needs to research how to innovate more reliable and efficient systems to prepare to carrying on experimenting space exploration missions. However, space exploration mission use the unique capabilities of humans , e.g. on the spot decision making, cognitive adaptability, versatility and robots , e.g. precision, sensory, accuracy, reliability and expandability to achieve ambitious exploration goals. Thus, maximize the productivity of these missions by demanding on effective partnership between humans and machines driving progress in human health care, robotics, automation. On creative more space technological jobs and soluble difficult space technology to human aspect, how to overcome the challenges of working, space has led to many technological and scientific advances that have provided benefits to society in earth in areas including health and medicine, transportation, public safety , consumer products, energy and environment, information technology and industrial productivity. For example, the technological benefits include improved solar panels, implantable heart monitors, light -based weight high temperature alloys used in jet engine turbines, cameras fond in today's mobile phones, compact water-purification systems, global search and rescue systems and biomedical technology etc. different kinds of space technological products. On space discoveries with benefits for life on earth hand, ongoing research in the space environment, in areas , such as human physiology, plant , biology, materials science and fundamental physics, insights that benefit society. For example, studies of the human body's response to extended periods in the microgravity environment in planetary evolution space environment. For another example, one of the lessons from Apollo moon exploration program is that having a visible space exploration program is important in encouraging young people to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields.
