Book Selling a New Zealand Business with no Regrets

Download or read book Selling a New Zealand Business with no Regrets written by Bruce McGechan and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Selling a business isn't a transaction. It is the start of the next stage of you and your spouse's life. It is the wealth that will help you achieve a successful retirement. And yet 4 out of 5 businesses do not sell. Of those that do sell, 75% of business owners profoundly regret their exit 12 months later. The business sale process is broken. Not just in New Zealand but around the world. In the US, a new process has been developed called exit planning. This process maximises the business value, and financially and personally prepares the business owner and family for retirement. This book applies this Exit Planning Institute process to NZ business. It has two parts: 1) Exit Planning that prepares the business for sale; and 2) The business sale process. It also explains Valuation and the other Exit Options including Management Buyout, Family Transfer, Private Equity and Recapitalisation. It is the book every business owner should read before they exit their business."--Publisher description.

Book Entrepreneurial Finance

Download or read book Entrepreneurial Finance written by Cristiano Bellavitis and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-07-23 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the proliferation of new sources of entrepreneurial finance and how these sources have the potential to make it easier for ventures to raise capital and grow. To date, entrepreneurial finance literature has developed a rich tradition of research on venture capital and angel finance. However, the emergence of ‘new’ sources of finance – such as crowdfunding – and the limited attention paid to ‘traditional’ debt financing and financial bootstrapping offer opportunities to explore, from different points of view and theoretical perspectives, the challenges that ventures face. The objective of this book is to explore these new and traditional sources of finance; suggest how these phenomena can be better understood conceptually; and guide new ways of understanding the topic in future, especially for researchers. The introduction outlines the new sources of entrepreneurial finance, and in comparing them with more traditional sources, proposes challenges in our conceptual understanding of these new and traditional sources. The subsequent chapters deal with important topics, including looking at the way different funding sources may interact; factors that impede family firms from getting external funding; how best to succeed with equity crowdfunding by looking at pre-selection processes; considering differences in perceptions towards funding sources arising from whether entrepreneurs are native born or immigrants; factors to consider when funding specialized assets in high uncertain sectors such as biotechnology; and the internationalization of business angel activity. This book was originally published as a special issue of the Venture Capital journal.

Book Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies

Download or read book Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies written by Jovo Ateljević and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-04-05 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contributes to a better understanding of entrepreneurship in transition economies. Current literature reflects the more traditional schools of thought on entrepreneurship, which are influenced by the Western perspective, and fail to fully address the scenario in transition economies. There is a broad consensus among academics, policy makers, and practitioners that a fundamental cause of difficulties experienced by most economies in transition has been the fact that reform has not been accompanied by the creation of new, private businesses, and particularly SMEs. This is especially evident in states created in Europe after the dissolution of the Soviet Union where many barriers, which were inherited from the old system, remain in place, thus inhibiting entrepreneurial progress in these countries despite a favorable political and economic environment. The contributions featured in this book focus on how much progress has been achieved so far with regard to these aspects, as well as identify which current barriers and issues still need to be resolved. Themes include innovation performance, financing, venture capital, educational factors, and entrepreneurial learning.

Book Age of Enterprise

Download or read book Age of Enterprise written by Ian Hunter and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, which covers an area little touched by traditional historians such as Sinclair, Belich or King, shows how entrepreneurship and innovation transformed the New Zealand economy in the late nineteenth century. In particular it draws on case studies and historical evidence to reveal that the small, organic, rapidly expanding firm was the potent force in New Zealand's growth - the local small-time entrepreneur is the hero of this story. By focusing on the shape of our economic history Ian Hunter here fills a major gap in our knowledge of the colonial period which has derived largely from the work of social and political historians.
