The first six books are called the "Egyptian texts" and were penned by Egyptian academicians following the Hebrew Exodus. The last five books are called the "Celtic texts" and were penned by Celtic priests following the death of Jesus. Several accounts describe an object in orbit around our sun sun called the "Destroyer," which the Celtic authors call the "Frightener." There is a soul authority that exists in all of us, a higher knowing that connects us to each other, the living Earth, and back to ourselves--even as we live in a world that sows division, destruction, and uncertainty. Shamanic eco-psychologist Loraine Van Tuyl, PhD, shows you how to tap into this innate wisdom, giving you the tools to trust its insights, hear its voice, and come home to our interrelated collective soul. Interwoven with stories from the author’s personal journey from growing up in Suriname during a military coup to pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology amid a profound spiritual awakening, Soul Authority is an inspiring alchemical exploration of rekindling the deep knowing that’s accessible to all of us. Through exercises, reflections, and concrete action steps, you’ll discover: • How to find your own True North, the guiding compass aligned with your inner truth • Practical skills for combatting the burnout, overwhelm, and disconnection that prevents us from making a bigger impact in the world • How to tap into the soul mission that nourishes your purpose • How your healing journey and collective liberation are interconnected • How to heal the “ancestral deficit” and “nature deficit” that leave you overwhelmed • Strategies for grounding, clearing, visibility, and creativity

Book Liberating Our Dignity Savingour Souls

Download or read book Liberating Our Dignity Savingour Souls written by and published by Chalice Press. This book was released on with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Lee Butler's own words, "This book is an attempt to answer the question, 'Who are we as African Americans?'" Attempting to answer this question is one way we participate in the works of salvation. Liberating Our Dignity, Saving Our Souls is a study of African American identity aimed at pointing a way out of a current crisis into a new liberation and salvation. Butler combines insights and methodologies from developmental psychology, liberation theology, and African American history to plot a new course for contemporary African Americans to gain a sense of identity that will guide them away from the identity the European and American cultures have traditionally forced upon them. This involves determining identity by personal worth; not by occupation, economic class, or social class.

Book Tuning the Rig

    Book Details:
  • Author : Fred Herron
  • Publisher : University Press of America
  • Release : 2012-07-10
  • ISBN : 0761852069
  • Pages : 260 pages

Download or read book Tuning the Rig written by Fred Herron and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2012-07-10 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To 'tune the rig' describes adjusting a ship's rigging; the rig of a well-tuned boat allows the sails to function well. This task must be performed to ensure the best performance by the ship. Tuning the Rig takes that metaphor as a guide for Catholic educators and administrators, as well as for the larger church. It argues from a variety of perspectives rooted in the Catholic imagination that the rig constantly needs to be re-tuned to balance between visions of the church as teacher and learner. Why should this matter to Catholic educators? To Herron, our understanding of the church as learner is at the heart of our understanding of ourselves as disciples. One of the logical consequences of this era of baptismal consciousness is a rising awareness on the part of the laity that their task is not simply to 'pay, pray, and obey' but to grow and journey in faith. Herron's focus ranges from issues closely pertaining to Catholic schools to the larger questions of the Catholic imagination. The underlying thread, however, is the challenge of maintaining the richness of the Catholic imagination — of tuning the rig — in changing times and the ordinary life of the church.

Book The Complete Short Stories in One Volume Illustrated Edition

Download or read book The Complete Short Stories in One Volume Illustrated Edition written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-11-13 with total page 2871 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: American novelist and short story writer Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) published his first work, a novel titled Fanshawe, in 1828; he later tried to suppress it, feeling it was not equal to the standard of his later work. He published several short stories in various periodicals, which he collected in 1837 as Twice-Told Tales. Much of Hawthorne's writing centres on New England, many works featuring moral allegories with a Puritan inspiration. His fiction works are considered to be part of the Romantic movement and, more specifically, Dark romanticism. His themes often centre on the inherent evil and sin of humanity, and his works often have moral messages and deep psychological complexity. This edition includes: Biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne Collections of Short Stories: Twice-Told Tales (1837) Grandfather's Chair (1840) Biographical Stories Mosses from an Old Manse (1846) Wonder Book For Girls and Boys (1851) The Snow Image and Other Twice Told Tales (1852) Tanglewood Tales For Girls and Boys (1853) The Dolliver Romance and Other Pieces, Tales and Sketches (1864) The Story Teller Sketches in Magazines

Book Growing Into Soul

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gwen Randall-Young
  • Publisher : Trafford Publishing
  • Release : 2004
  • ISBN : 1412014042
  • Pages : 226 pages

Download or read book Growing Into Soul written by Gwen Randall-Young and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are each a part of an expanding, evolving Universe, which experiences itself only through human consciousness. As the Universe evolves, so does our consciousness. Evolutionary currents are now rocking Western consciousness, as the old left-brain, logical, analytical approaches to life are no longer sufficient to create balanced, fulfilling lives. Western minds are opening as never before to expanded spiritual awareness, more typical of Eastern traditions. Without a bridge connecting the two traditions. integration is elusive, practical applications few, and dissatisfaction with life continues. Growing Into Soul: The Next Step In Human Evolution is the book which will bridge the two traditions, taking readers from where they are now in their lives, through concrete, practical guidance, to the next level. This level is the next evolutionary step, beyond 'survival of the fittest', to 'survival of the wisest'. Growing Into Soul: The Next Step In Human Evolution clearly illustrates the path of higher consciousness, then teaches readers how to live that path. This involves a shift from ego-based to soul-based thinking and responding. This easy-to-remember dichotomy allows readers to grasp otherwise difficult or complex concepts and processes. The book demonstrates that life outcomes are the result of how we interpret our experiences, and teaches how we can choose wiser interpretations. The way we think, feel, speak and behave can change dramatically as a result. Soundly based on human psychology, this book 'makes sense' to a very broad reading audience. This is a 'how to' book unlike others: elegant in its simplicity and practicality, yet profound in the depth of consciousness into which it taps, and the change it elicits.
