Book excerpt: Often when we look at our lives we feel unfulfilled. We feel stuck in external situations and ways of being or thinking and feel we cannot change. So instead of creating the life we wish to experience we settle for the life we feel we have. The reality is that we can create the joyful and abundant life we wish to experience by learning to become the conscious creators of our lives right now. Each one of us holds the power to manifest our reality if we just understand the basic components of how reality is created. Although we often feel fixed and limited, the truth is that we are constantly changing and creating. The problem is that most of our manifesting is happening on an unconscious level, and very often from insecure fear and worry-based thoughts that sabotage and limit us from what we wish to create. Fortunately we can turn this seeming problem into an opportunity by learning the inner workings of the mind and consciously implement these workings for our benefit and the benefit of all. Joining ancient wisdom with modern science and psychology, we will explore and implement simple yet very powerful creation tools that will give you the power to manifest the life you wish to experience. We will learn how to overcome self-limiting beliefs and habits that often sabotage our relationships, opportunities for abundance, joy, and so much more. Are you ready to become the conscious creator of your life? Are you ready to be the master of your destiny?

Book excerpt: Many of the modern theories, are viewed as facts, when in actuality, they are just educated guesses, from times, more technologically challenged.. People assume that the theories, are a given, and should be accepted by all. Its considered politically unacceptable, to disagree with their assumptions, when in actuality, its unhealthy, to always agree, and become, close minded.. In the book The Debunker, I use logic, to disprove several popular theories. Sometimes, do to modern day prejudices, my views may seem controversial, at fi rst, but with careful consideration, you will see, that it is really the politically correct stance, that is controversial. The Theories of Einstein, and Darwin, along with ones in the fi elds of geology, psychology, anthropology and theology, along with several other theories (many that are not considered controversial, and are considered to be facts), are debunked., with basic logic. I have also included witty phrases, and sensible advise, on how to live a good life. Its just a little book, that I wrote, to help people live more heavenly, enlightened, lives. I hope you enjoy it, and prosper from it, too.
Download or read book Three Sigma Leadership written by Steven R Hirshorn and published by . This book was released on 2020-03-04 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a technical organization, charged with performing groundbreaking and pathfinding challenges on a daily basis, NASA has long valued the role of its Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers. Although it takes a team to accomplish our missions and no members are unimportant, the Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers who we look to lead our technical teams are critical to the success of our endeavors. It is this corps of dedicated, experienced, and passionate problem solvers and leaders who battle the technical headwinds that face every project, finding often hidden solutions and overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles to create paths to success. Furthermore, it is that indomitable spirit of ingenuity and perseverance that defines the Agency. Developing our Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers is a commitment of the NASA engineering community, and one of our tenets for excellence. This development ensures our corps of engineers obtain the depth of technical acumen that they require, first as discipline engineers and then as Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers, but also the associated management skills and experience to ensure they can interact with the rest of the project team and with program, Center, and Agency leadership. What's more, this development also ensures that NASA Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers proficiently serve as leaders of their own technical teams, and that's what this book is all about. These technical leaders are critical to successfully implementing the three safety tenets we inherited from the Apollo program. These include the following: Strong in-line checks and balances. This means that engineers check their fellow engineers, and that no one checks their own homework. 1. Healthy tension between responsible organizations. In NASA today that is the programs and the three Technical Authorities (Engineering, Safety, and Health and Medical). Each organization has to be on equal footing with separate but equal chains of command to allow issues to be raised independently and provide the healthy tension to create organizational checks and balances. 2. "Value-added" independent assessment. "Value-added" means you bring in outside technical experts to peer review critical issues. Having a fresh set of eyes on a problem can provide a different perspective, leverage different experiences and result in more robust solutions. 3. NASA arrived at these three tenets through considerable blood, sweat, and loss, and our commitment to them is now inscribed in our Agency governance. As Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers, your role in this is paramount, and achieving excellence in this is an expectation of your job. Serving in this role is not an easy task, but it is a tremendously reward¬ing one. You are the leaders of your technical teams, owners of the technical baseline, standard bearers of engineering best practices, decision makers, risk mitigators and problem solvers. You are Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers, the title of which should say it all.
Download or read book The Creative Process written by Scott R. Turner and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2014-02-25 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Someday computers will be artists. They'll be able to write amusing and original stories, invent and play games of unsurpassed complexity and inventiveness, tell jokes and suffer writer's block. But these things will require computers that can both achieve artistic goals and be creative. Both capabilities are far from accomplished. This book presents a theory of creativity that addresses some of the many hard problems which must be solved to build a creative computer. It also presents an exploration of the kinds of goals and plans needed to write simple short stories. These theories have been implemented in a computer program called MINSTREL which tells stories about King Arthur and his knights. While far from being the silicon author of the future, MINSTREL does illuminate many of the interesting and difficult issues involved in constructing a creative computer. The results presented here should be of interest to at least three different groups of people. Artificial intelligence researchers should find this work an interesting application of symbolic AI to the problems of story-telling and creativity. Psychologists interested in creativity and imagination should benefit from the attempt to build a detailed, explicit model of the creative process. Finally, authors and others interested in how people write should find MINSTREL's model of the author-level writing process thought-provoking.
Download or read book Semantic Leaps written by Seana Coulson and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2001-01-29 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semantic Leaps explores how people combine knowledge from different domains in order to understand and express new ideas. Concentrating on dynamic aspects of on-line meaning construction, Coulson identifies two related sets of processes: frame-shifting and conceptual blending. By addressing linguistic phenomena often ignored in traditional meaning research, Coulson explains how processes of cross-domain mapping, frame-shifting, and conceptual blending enhance the explanatory adequacy of traditional frame-based systems for natural language processing. The focus is on how the constructive processes speakers use to assemble, link, and adapt simple cognitive models underlie a broad range of productive language behavior.
