Download or read book Simply God written by Rick Richards and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-10-10 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When pastors and evangelists preach, they try to convince you to change your lifestyle now. This is not their fault. They know that they have to do this. They have to get you close to God because time could be short. That is not equipping and preparing. Equipping and preparing means giving you the tools of the trade. That is living Gods Word and how to plan to do this. The Word teaches that pastors are to equip the servants. All that time convincing and not equipping is destroying Gods world. Jesus equipped and encouraged Gods children and changed the world. What is our excuse? We need to divert all our mental and physical abilities to become like Jesus and begin to feel these changes in our bodies. We have to stop becoming people of behaviors. Over many generations, we have reacted to what we have seen and heard and to the pleasures the world has given us. We dont look and listen to God anymore, because he doesnt give us what we want when we want it. When the world sees this, it gives us what we want and we take it. We are not patient enough! God gives us what we need. As long as the world dangles that carrot in front of our faces, we will continue to pull that heavy, burdensome load of sin and pain. It is only by seeing and hearing what God does in this world to bless his children that will show us how his grace and greatness will tower above our fears.

You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Book excerpt: Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.

Download or read book One Minute Faith written by S. Paige, Sr. and published by Elm Hill. This book was released on 2018-12-04 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One Minute Faith: Encouragement for a Hungry Soul: This book will help you to undertake an active role in your fellowship with others. It will also help with trusting in the Bible, and in having faith in Jehovah God. It’s a resource that can help brighten your day through the use of comforting little passages of scripture, and creative inspirations. It can also be used as a daily, or weekly, reflection and devotional. It’s filled with words of encouragement and anecdotes designed to challenge you in your walk of grace, by encouraging you to engage your faith through acts of kindness, discipleship and faith in God. It is not the Bible, but it draws from biblical teachings, principles, and concepts that help encourage, motivate, educate and foster a desire to learn more about the promises that the Lord Thy God has made to his people and to those of us who have been engrafted into His Holy Kingdom. In the process of reading this book, you will be encouraged, which may energize you to get more involved in taking an active role in your faith walk. You may even find yourself beginning to encourage others by sharing some of the short messages on faith, and worship with others. Remember, it’s not a substitute for the Bible, but it is a reminder to take a moment to reflect on the Good News of the Gospel, and on the simple truth that Jesus Saves! He took our sins, trespasses and iniquities, and carried it all to the cross; bearing the weight of the world upon Himself, so that we would have a chance at everlasting lasting life, in the presence of an Almighty God. This book reminds us to tell others about the price that was paid for our salvation, and to help others to see that we have a Lord, who truly loves us more than we love ourselves. He is the Way, the Truth and the “Life” (John 14:6).So, if you want to encourage yourself or others, then this book is for YOU! It was designed to be an easy read that can be shared over lunch, dinner or as you are riding along in your car or truck. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to buy it as a gift, for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, or just for the fun and pleasure of reading an encouraging word. I will tell you that, of my friends in the faith who’ve read it, they loved it… and a great many of them have shared it with others in the faith… Sometimes they shared it with those who were not even faithful believers, who simply needed to be encouraged, and reminded that they are not alone in their walk through life’s situations, circumstances, trials, and tribulations, and it helped. So, the simple answer is this… we all need encouragement on some level, and this book is extremely helpful at getting some positive messages into the hands and the hearts of others. So, be encouraged in your faith and grace walk, and just know that you are not alone! Hebrews 13:5 KJV: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, norforsake thee.

Download or read book Renovation of the Heart written by Dallas Willard and published by Tyndale House. This book was released on 2014-02-27 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Christians, we know that we are new creations in Jesus. So we try to act differently, hoping this will make us more like Him. But changing our outward behavior doesn’t change our hearts. Only by God’s grace can we be transformed internally. Renovation of the Heart lays a biblical foundation for understanding what best-selling author Dallas Willard calls the “transformation of the spirit”—a divine process that “brings every element in our being, working from inside out, into harmony with the will of God.” This fresh approach to spiritual growth explains the biblical reasons why Christians need to undergo change in six aspects of life: thought, feeling, will, body, social context, and soul. Willard also outlines a general pattern of transformation in each area, not as a sterile formula but as a practical process that you can follow without the guilt or perfectionism so many Christians wrestle with. Don’t settle for complacency. Accept the challenge Renovation of the Heart offers to become an intentional apprentice of Jesus Christ, changing daily as you walk with Him.

Book The Daily Encourager

    Book Details:
  • Author : Joyce P. Morris
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2021-07-26
  • ISBN : 1638448140
  • Pages : 103 pages

Download or read book The Daily Encourager written by Joyce P. Morris and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-26 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As long as we live, we will be faced with difficulties which we cannot overcome in our own strength. Most of the time, they are just the everyday circumstances. It is during these times that we desire to find the answers we search for that can only be accomplished through the encouragement and promises of the Word of God. This book is simply about what the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." Without a doubt, God's word has an answer for every human situation. Sometimes, we tend to forget because of how and what we are facing at the moment. It takes someone who has gone through difficult trials in life to encourage and pray with others in their weakest moments. It takes someone to remind them that God's promises still stand today as it was with our Ancestors. It takes someone to help propel their faith back to the place where it once was. This is what the ninety days' devotional is all about. I encourage you to continue to read each day, and before this book has ended, I guarantee you will find a situation relevant to yours. It is my hope that the scripture verses will further help you see things differently than before. I pray this book will accomplish its purpose. You will be blessed and your spirit will be renewed. In the meantime, be encouraged and remember, "God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble."
