Download or read book Living with Intent written by Mallika Chopra and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2015-04-07 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “I’m trying to meditate one day but urgent thoughts keep intruding. Don’t forget to take cupcakes to school! I have to prepare for my presentation for the wellness conference! Is that lunch with the other moms tomorrow or next week? My to-do list is stampeding through my mind, trampling any chance of tranquility. I feel overwhelmed, yes, but there’s more: I feel…guilty. Guilty that I’m taking on too much, guilty that I’m not doing anything well, guilty that I’m giving short shrift to my kids, my husband, my job. And what about you, Mallika? a quiet voice asks. How are you shortchanging yourself?” Living with Intent is a chronicle of Mallika Chopra’s search to find more meaning, joy, and balance in life. She hopes that by telling her story, she can inspire others with her own successes (and failures) as well as share some of the wisdom she has gathered from friends, experts, and family along the way—people like her dad, Deepak, as well as Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson, Arianna Huffington, Andrew Weil, and Dan Siegel. She also provides a practical road map for how we can all move from thought to action to outcome. Each chapter is devoted to one step on her journey and another piece of her INTENT action plan: Incubate, Notice, Trust, Express, Nurture, and Take Action. Chopra’s insights and advice will help us all come closer to fully living the lives we truly intend.

Download or read book No Waste written by Uly Ma and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sustainability is a critical issue for the construction industry. In the short term, sustainability is often seen as a 'must do' item. In the longer term, all contractors will be seeing it as a source of competitive advantage. Public sector construction, infrastructure and other large projects such as the Thames Gateway and the Olympics in 2012 are all being driven down this route by pressure from Government. Uly Ma's No Waste is an extremely practical guide to managing sustainability in construction that draws on input from all the related stakeholders: the construction industry itself, the clients, designers and architects and the trades. The book explores how the industry can transform itself from business as before to business as it should be, from the micro level of good site practices to setting the right policies that drives a company onwards. The text covers the management of sustainability and the accompanying CD ROM includes a wealth of material such as tool kits, templates and activities that can be shared throughout the organisation and used for team meetings, communication and training.

Download or read book Intent written by Etsko Schuitema and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-09-11 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INTENT is an exploration of what sits at the very core of being human, our intentions. It is a simple explanation in contemporary language and logic on how understanding the use of our intent can unlock the door to comprehending the vast spectrum of human experience. There are many ways of accounting for the excellence of a person. We could, for example, refer to things such as the accumulation of wealth, power or knowledge, all of which are demonstrably false. There are many examples of mature, outstanding people who have been poor and uneducated. There are also many people who are wealthy, powerful and knowledgeable but who are complete disaster areas as people. After years of working with the concepts in this book, the author argues that the root of human excellence lies with the issue of our intent. Intent is very subtle, it is not easily measured statistically, but it is instantly recognised by people. It drives our behaviour, how that behaviour is interpreted by others and it governs the success or failure of all human aspirations and endeavours. The contention of this work is that the unfoldment of the highest aspects of the self are principally concerned with the 'maturation' of our intent. This maturation doesn't require privilege, wealth or a university degree. It is something that anyone, regardless of their station in life, can pursue and succeed at. Success in this venture is to succeed at the key criteria that people measure themselves and others by, irrespective of their background.
