Download or read book THE SPIRIT OF LOVE MERCY AND GRACE written by GODSWORD GODSWILL ONU and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-04 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Spirit of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Love, Mercy, and Grace. The Blood, which Jesus Christ shed...is very valuable to God; and He wants all men to be cleansed and washed by it. Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ; but the Law was given through Moses. And we operate by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Who is the Spirit of Grace and Truth. We are to put our minds and motives on love, grace, mercy, and Truth, instead of on the spirit/attitude/motive of 'tit for tat'. The spirit whose aim is to be destroying men's lives is not the Spirit of God, but carnal spirit and the spirit of the devil. But this does not mean that God cannot kill somebody in this New Testament dispensation, because He can kill now. However, He kills and destroys at His Discretion, Wisdom, and Decision. But the kind of desire, prayer, motive, and attitude, whose aim is human destruction, comes from unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, and revenge. It is contrary to the Holy Spirit and Spirit of Christ Jesus our Lord.

Download or read book The Thomas Watson Collection Illustrated written by Thomas Watson and published by Strelbytskyy Multimedia Publishing. This book was released on 2021-06-14 with total page 1667 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thomas Watson was a 17th-century minister at the church of St. Stephen Walbrook in London. As a pastor, he set himself two goals. First, he wanted unbelievers to grieve over their fate and realize the necessity of God's grace. On the other hand, he wanted believers to rejoice in the assurance that they had received God's grace. His books are simple but exciting commentaries with many practical examples and applications. He explains the paradox that both good and bad events contribute to the benefit of believers. He spends a great deal of time explaining what it means to love God and be called by His will. In this book, Watson manages to answer one of the most plaguing theological questions of all time: Why do bad things happen to good people? This eBook includes the following 14 volumes by Thomas Watson: Body of Practical Divinity The Ten Commandments The Lord's Prayer The Beatitudes The Godly Man's Picture The Art of Divine Contentment A Treatise Concerning Meditation The Great Gain of Godliness The Doctrine of Repentance The Mischief of Sin A Divine Cordial The Christian Soldier The Christian's Charter The Duty of Self-Denial
Download or read book From Conflict to Communion Including Common Prayer written by The Lutheran World Federation and published by Evangelische Verlagsanstalt. This book was released on 2016-10-01 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In 2017, Catholics and Lutherans will jointly look back on events of the Reformation 500 years ago. At the same time, they will also reflect on 50 years of official ecumenical dialogue on the worldwide level. During this time, the communion they share anew has continued to grow. This encourages Lutherans and Catholics to celebrate together the common witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who is the center of their common faith. Yet, amidst this celebration, they will also have reason to experience the suffering caused by the division of the Church, and to look self-critically at themselves, not only throughout history, but also through today's realities. "From Conflict to Communion" develops a basis for an ecumenical commemoration that stands in contrast to earlier centenaries. The Lutheran-Roman Catholic Commission on Unity invites all Christians to study its report both open-mindedly and critically, and to walk along the path towards the full, visible unity of the Church. This editition is Including Common Prayer.

Download or read book Praying the Scriptures written by Jeremiah Williamson and published by Church Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2014-10 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Prayers of the People is the place where liturgy is most likely to lose energy. Of course, that should not be the case; it is a great privilege to offer our prayers to God as a congregation. But the Book of Common Prayer provides a limited number of forms and, although it also provides guidelines for composition of original prayers, many parishes have prayed just a couple of the forms over and over again for 35 years. Williamson began to compose these new prayers for his parish, posting them on a blog as they were used each Sunday. He discovered in the process that the congregational urge to move beyond the Prayer Book's six forms is a common one. These new prayers bring freshness to corporate prayer, carrying the lectionary-based themes of the hymns, lessons, and sermon into the service, creating a fresh and focused worship experience. Lectionary based prayers in a call-and-response format Written in language that is fresh and well-crafted
