Download or read book Jeremiah Lamentations written by Dr. Gerald L. Woodruff and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-02-26 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jeremiah and Lamentation are at once a prophecy of the desolation of Judah but a history of it. Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet. He cries for a nation that rejected God to the point that they could not turn back to God. The nation believed false prophets even when they were shown to be false. This is the cause for his weeping and we see his frustration which is a picture of the frustration that God had for Israel. We can also note that many of Christ's illustrations were taken from Jeremiah. The reader is encouraged to make that comparison and put them in the notes pages that are provided. I would also note a comparison with today. It is a study that in we can see even in our society.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prophet Jeremiah is a supreme example of how believers can live well in a society that has turned against God. While the book of Jeremiah chronicles the last, desperate days of Jerusalem before it is conquered by an invading army, Lamentations expresses the cries of Jeremiah’s heart for the fallen city. Together, the two books reflect on the meaning of human suffering and illustrate the eternal principle that a man will reap what he sows. In this commentary, Philip Graham Ryken helps pastors, church leaders, and Bible teachers understand and teach these spiritually relevant books, inspiring readers to respond to God’s personal call to live for him in these troubled times. Part of the Preaching the Word series.
