Book The Late Great Planet Earth

Download or read book The Late Great Planet Earth written by Hal Lindsey and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2016-10-11 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The impact of The Late Great Planet Earth cannot be overstated. The New York Times called it the "no. 1 non-fiction bestseller of the decade." For Christians and non-Christians of the 1970s, Hal Lindsey's blockbuster served as a wake-up call on events soon to come and events already unfolding -- all leading up to the greatest event of all: the return of Jesus Christ. The years since have confirmed Lindsey's insights into what biblical prophecy says about the times we live in. Whether you're a church-going believer or someone who wouldn't darken the door of a Christian institution, the Bible has much to tell you about the imminent future of this planet. In the midst of an out-of-control generation, it reveals a grand design that's unfolding exactly according to plan. The rebirth of Israel. The threat of war in the Middle East. An increase in natural catastrophes. The revival of Satanism and witchcraft. These and other signs, foreseen by prophets from Moses to Jesus, portend the coming of an antichrist . . . of a war which will bring humanity to the brink of destruction . . . and of incredible deliverance for a desperate, dying planet.

  • ISBN : 0718843835
  • Pages : 299 pages

Download or read book An Uncertain Certainty written by Graham Buxton and published by Lutterworth Press. This book was released on 2015-03-26 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people in Christian ministry are tired of simplistic certainties; what they need is permission to live with uncertainty, with mystery, ambiguity, and paradox. Because we live in a world that is far removed from the modernist version of reality, with its rational, clinical, and superficial presentation of life, we need the courage and wisdom to embrace the presence of uncertainties in the midst of certainty. In this book, the author offers snapshots of a number of central Christian topics-God, the gospel, the church, salvation, ministry-inviting us to treat them as features of a landscape to explore rather than a set of propositional statements to sign up to. Each chapter-short enough to provoke interest and curiosity-will be a catalyst for deeper reflection and enquiry, inviting us to discover a new freedom in ministry as we embrace a more generous both-and perspective in place of a more narrow either-or interpretation of the Christian faith. In the process, we may find ourselves rediscovering the Life we have lost in living as we imaginatively participate in the life, ministry, and mystery of the triune God of grace in our midst.

Book The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer Volume 2

Download or read book The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer Volume 2 written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on with total page 1203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer (Volume 2)” contains the following books: 1) The Art of Intercession 2) The Practice of Intercession 3) Practical Spiritual Warfare Through Prayer 4) Life-Changing Thoughts on Prayer (Volume 1) 5) The Overthrow of Principalities and Powers 6) The Prophecy of the Overthrow of the Satanic Prince of Douala 7) The Prophecy of the Overthrow of the Prince of Cameroon Having left the ABCs of prayer behind, this volume deals with the intricacies of intercession, spiritual warfare, and the overthrow of satanic princes ruling entire nations behind the scenes. It tackles both the art and practice of intercession. Simply put, intercession is both the art and practice by a righteous, blameless, and absolutely consecrated person, to accept, stand in the gap, and defend a person or people that God has targeted for destruction due to their brazen and sustained violation of His will. The Lord’s response to Moses’ intercession and entreaty for the children of Israel was swift and dramatic. The Bible says, “Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened”(Exodus 32:14). That was intercession in both its art and practice. So many advanced believers in Christ don’t even believe that satanic princes exist. They exist. They are so real, so devastating in their work and so strangulating in their grip of people and their affairs, that you can only ignore them to your own undoing. Daniel battled these satanic princes all his adult life in exile in the Babylonian, Persian, and Median realms. He did so through strategic, prevailing, and sustained prayer and fasting (Daniel 10:1-21; 11:1). He battled in prayer and fasting until the satanic princes of Persia and Greece, which were opposing God’s purposes, were overcame, overturned, and overthrown. We send this second prayer volume out with a cry to the Lord that He should use it to teach the church of the Firstborn the intricacies of intercession and spiritual warfare. In this age of atheism, agnosticism, humanism, espionage, robots, sophisticated gadgets, and the Internet, there was never a time we needed intercession and spiritual warfare like now.

Book God s Planet

    Book Details:
  • Author : Owen Gingerich
  • Publisher : Harvard University Press
  • Release : 2014-10-22
  • ISBN : 0674745019
  • Pages : 105 pages

Download or read book God s Planet written by Owen Gingerich and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2014-10-22 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An “eminent scholar . . . shows how religious perspectives have played significant roles in major scientific discoveries and frameworks. . . . fascinating.” (Choice) Today, science and religion are the two major cultural entities on our planet that seek a coherent explanation for the structure, origins, and fate of the universe, and of humanity’s place within it, though their interpretation of evidence differs dramatically. Many scientists look at the known universe and conclude we are here by chance. The renowned astronomer and historian of science Owen Gingerich looks at the same evidence?along with the fact that the universe is comprehensible to our minds?and sees it as proof for the planning and intentions of a Creator-God. God’s Planet exposes the fallacy in thinking that science and religion can be kept apart. Gingerich frames his argument around three questions: Was Copernicus right, in dethroning Earth from its place at the center of the universe? Was Darwin right, in placing humans securely in an evolving animal kingdom? And was Hoyle right, in identifying physical constants in nature that seem singularly tuned to allow the existence of intelligent life on planet Earth? Using these episodes from the history of science, Gingerich demonstrates that cultural attitudes, including religious or antireligious beliefs, play a significant role in what passes as scientific understanding. The more rigorous science becomes over time, the more clearly God’s handiwork can be comprehended. “Owen Gingerich provides new facts and deeper understanding of [Copernicus, Darwin, Hoyle].” —Freeman Dyson, author of The Scientist as Rebel “[A] short, punchy, accessible, and thought-provoking book.” —Christian Century “A rich volume you’ll want to keep in your library.” —Forbes.com
