Book Seven Ways to Abide in Christ

Download or read book Seven Ways to Abide in Christ written by Lin Wills and published by White Tree Publishing. This book was released on 2021-03-30 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abiding is active. We actively draw life from the Vine, Jesus, as we abide in Him. We believe, we trust, we are closely connected. We are attached and grafted into the Vine in deep connection. We are positioned to receive all we can from the Vine. We receive the life-giving sap from the Vine. We draw from the Vine all that we need. It is our connection to the Vine that brings forth fruit – we cannot do it with self effort! David in one of his Psalms writes that God says, “Come and talk with Me.” And his heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” How does our heart respond? Is it, “Later, when I'm not so busy? When I have more time?” We will never have more time. We have to make time. And we will, if it’s what we really want. Best time, not leftovers. Not when we are half asleep! We will be abiding and dwelling as close to God as we desire and discipline ourselves to be.

The eBook editions are free from most distributors. This whole volume is also available as a paperback from major book distributors.

Book Seven Ways to Deal with Insecurity

Download or read book Seven Ways to Deal with Insecurity written by Lin Wills and published by White Tree Publishing. This book was released on 2021-10-06 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If we are a child of God, we are loved, accepted, and welcomed into the family of God. God loves us with an everlasting, immovable love. We are secure in Him. Our good deeds or anything that we do will not make us more secure. And anything that we do wrong does not make us any less secure. We cannot overcome insecurity by doing things to impress God. We need to have the self image that is Biblical. Believing God’s truth sets us free from insecurity. God wants us to find our security in Him alone.

Book Seven Ways to Defeat Giants

Download or read book Seven Ways to Defeat Giants written by Lin Wills and published by White Tree Publishing. This book was released on 2021-04-21 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What are our Giants? A giant is anything that stops us from reaching our full potential in God, and stops us receiving everything He has for us. It could be a bad attitude or a long-term habit that traps us in a never-ending cycle. It can also be a wrong influence through another person that can come between us and our relationship with God. Giants try to stop our growth and progress towards our destiny. There are many strongholds that the enemy uses: oppression, condemnation, guilt, fear, shame, compromise, self effort, self-righteousness, and pride. We should also add anger and unforgiveness, and many other wrong thoughts and beliefs.

Book With

  • Author : Skye Jethani
  • Publisher : Thomas Nelson
  • Release : 2011-08-22
  • ISBN : 1595553800
  • Pages : 223 pages

Download or read book With written by Skye Jethani and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2011-08-22 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With explores the narrative of the Bible to show that we were created to be with God, and that restoring this connection is his mission. Instead of life over, under, from, or even for God, what leads us into freedom and restoration is life with God. Why are American Christians, who have more access to biblical teaching than any other people in history, failing to experience the freedom of the Christian life? Why are pastors, those closest to the work and ministry, burning out at an alarming rate? Why do many church members, who give large amounts of their time and wealth to Christ and his kingdom, secretly question the legitimacy of their efforts? And why are spiritual seekers dismissing the validity of the Christian message? Is it possible we’ve misunderstood the call of the Christian life? A life lived in rich communion with God cultivates faith, hope, and love in a way that transforms both us and the broken world we inhabit. In With, you’ll find: illustrations of concepts in the book to aid understanding; recommendations for how to practice communion with God, including three helpful practices; and a discussion guide for use when continuing the conversation with others in small groups. Endorsements: If we've grown weary of Christianity, if we find most any local church uninspiring, maybe the problem lies not in the Christian faith or these faithful bodies, but in our own disgruntled hearts. In With, Skye Jethani tenderly unmasks the clichéd posturing that too often masquerades as genuine communion with Christ. More importantly, he takes readers to the humble place they must occupy--in prayer, studying Scripture, with the Church--if faith, hope, and love are to truly mark our lives. -James H. Gilmore, author, The Experience Economy It doesn’t matter, as old theologians were rumored to argue, how many angels can dance on a pinhead. But it does matter which preposition governs your faith--over, after, against, for, from, under, with. Who knew what huge worlds turn on such tiny words? Who knew what theological riches were laced into the bones of grammar? Skye has done a great service to the church. In prose elegant and clear, with insights keen and deep, he shows how everything changes with just one word: With. It’s a book I want my whole church to read. -Mark Buchanan, author of Spiritual Rhythm Who knew that a preposition had so much influence? Skye's book will challenge the way that you think about God and faith, digging deep into our motivations and heart issues. You can't read this book and not see yourself and others differently! -Margaret Feinberg, author of Scouting the Divine and Hungry for God

Book Seven Ways to Avoid Burn out

Download or read book Seven Ways to Avoid Burn out written by Lin Wills and published by White Tree Publishing. This book was released on 2021-09-15 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dictionary definition of burn-out is, “When the fuel is exhausted and the fire ceases.” We must always guard against doing things in our own strength. We need to always tap into God’s divine supply, and the overflow of His Holy Spirit. Even if we are doing the right things for God, we must keep going back to His resources for our strength and ability. We must never rely on our own strength – it will always run out and we will run dry. Self-reliance is often the cause of burn-out. We need to ask God for wisdom and direction in all things. In order to carry on in our calling without burn-out we must stay focused on Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Download or read book Steps to Personal Revival written by Helmut HAUBEIL and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2020-03-17 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On August 14, 2011, when I was in Kandergrund in the Bernese Highlands in Switzerland an important connection became very clear to me. I recognized a spiritual cause for why we are losing part of our youth. I was very shocked. I thought of my children and grandchildren. Since then I have been intensively occupied with this subject. Now I believe that the same spiritual cause is behind many of our problems; specifically the personal problems, in the local churches and the world-wide church. It is the lack of the Holy Spirit. If this is the cause, then we should urgently address this issue. If the cause can be eliminated or considerably reduced, then many problems will become superfluous or will be resolved.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether the issue of the day on Twitter, Facebook, or cable news is our sexuality, political divides, or the perceived conflict between faith and science, today’s media pushes each one of us into a frustrating clash between two opposing sides. Polarizing, us-against-them discussions divide us and distract us from thinking clearly and communicating lovingly with others. Scott Sauls, like many of us, is weary of the bickering and is seeking a way of truth and beauty through the conflicts. Jesus Outside the Lines presents Jesus as this way. Scott shows us how the words and actions of Jesus reveal a response that does not perpetuate the destructive fray. Jesus offers us a way forward—away from harshness, caricatures, and stereotypes. In Jesus Outside the Lines, you will experience a fresh perspective of Jesus, who will not (and should not) fit into the sides.
