Book An Introduction to Control Systems

Download or read book An Introduction to Control Systems written by K. Warwick and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-01-01 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This significantly revised edition presents a broad introduction to Control Systems and balances new, modern methods with the more classical. It is an excellent text for use as a first course in Control Systems by undergraduate students in all branches of engineering and applied mathematics. The book contains: A comprehensive coverage of automatic control, integrating digital and computer control techniques and their implementations, the practical issues and problems in Control System design; the three-term PID controller, the most widely used controller in industry today; numerous in-chapter worked examples and end-of-chapter exercises. This second edition also includes an introductory guide to some more recent developments, namely fuzzy logic control and neural networks.

Book The Dynamics of Automatic Control Systems

Download or read book The Dynamics of Automatic Control Systems written by E. P. Popov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-09 with total page 776 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Dynamics of Automatic Control Systems focuses on the dynamics of automatic control systems and the fundamental results of the theory of automatic control. The discussion covers theoretical methods of analysis and synthesis of automatic control systems common to systems of various physical natures and designs. Concrete examples of the simplest functional circuits are presented to illustrate the principal ideas in the construction of automatic control systems and the application of the theoretical methods. Comprised of 19 chapters, this book begins by describing different forms of automatic control systems, with emphasis on open and closed loop automatic systems. The reader is then introduced to transients in automatic regulation systems; methods for improving the regulation process; and some problems in the theory of automatic regulation. Subsequent chapters deal with linearization and transformation of the differential equations of an automatic regulation system; stability criteria for ordinary linear systems; equations of systems with delay and with distributed parameters; and equations of nonlinear automatic regulation systems. The oscillations and stability of nonlinear systems are also considered. This monograph will be of interest to engineers and students.

Book Aircraft Dynamics and Automatic Control

Download or read book Aircraft Dynamics and Automatic Control written by Duane T. McRuer and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 809 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aeronautical engineers concerned with the analysis of aircraft dynamics and the synthesis of aircraft flight control systems will find an indispensable tool in this analytical treatment of the subject. Approaching these two fields with the conviction that an understanding of either one can illuminate the other, the authors have summarized selected, interconnected techniques that facilitate a high level of insight into the essence of complex systems problems. These techniques are suitable for establishing nominal system designs, for forecasting off-nominal problems, and for diagnosing the root causes of problems that almost inevitably occur in the design process. A complete and self-contained work, the text discusses the early history of aircraft dynamics and control, mathematical models of linear system elements, feedback system analysis, vehicle equations of motion, longitudinal and lateral dynamics, and elementary longitudinal and lateral feedback control. The discussion concludes with such topics as the system design process, inputs and system performance assessment, and multi-loop flight control systems. Originally published in 1974. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Book The Analysis and Synthesis of Linear Servomechanisms

Download or read book The Analysis and Synthesis of Linear Servomechanisms written by Albert C. Hall and published by Mit Press. This book was released on 1942-12 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A standard reference on the application of network theory to the design of automatic control systems. The 1943 printing of The Analysis and Synthesis of Linear Servomechanisms was classified as restricted and distributed accordingly. After the close of WWII, the book was declassified in order to permit general dissemination of the material. From the Preface: This book is a formulation of a servomechanism design procedure based primarily upon an analysis of the system response to sinusoidal inputs of various frequencies. Although a knowledge of the transient performance of a servomechanism provides an excellent basis for predicting the response of the system to the conditions of a particular application, the complexity of most physical systems makes the computation of the transient performance and the translation of the resulting information into physical design criteria extremely laborious. On the other hand, knowledge of the response of the servomechanisms to sinusoidal inputs is not quite as useful in enabling a prediction to be made of the servo response to the conditions of most practical applications, but the computation of the sinusoidal response and the translation of this information into useful design criteria are much simpler.
