Book Servants of Righteousness Discipleship Training Program

Download or read book Servants of Righteousness Discipleship Training Program written by Eric Huntley and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-01-15 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Church has forgotten about making disciples of its members. Very few have discipleship training programs. They lead the new believers to Christ and then leave them to fend for themselves. The churches then wonder why so many fall away from the Body of Christ. Without guidance and instruction, these things will continue to be so. Being born again doesn't automatically make someone a disciple; they must be taught. The lack of formal discipleship training in the churches is the root cause of new converts (baby Christians) running undisciplined in the Church. They are easily offended, back bite, are disrespectful to leaders, and are looking more like the world than the world. The fact that someone has been in Church for over ten or twenty years does not make them a mature Christian. Without discipleship, it is very likely that they are still considered infants in Christ. The Church became weak willed due to the absence of discipleship training. Fear has caused the Church to side with the world in many instances instead of taking a stand when something is wrong. The cares of the of the world are beginning to infiltrate the Church. The Church is also behaving more like the world instead of lifting a spiritual standard that Jesus outlined in Mark 16:17-18. "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover", is nonexistent in most Churches. The Bible tells us that God is no respecter of persons. What He has done for one He will do for another so the signs and wonders that were following the early Church in the book of Acts should still be happening today! Church members must be disciplined in the things of God if we want to see more manifestation of the spiritual gifts in operation within the Church. This training program is a step in the right direction. It will give the new member, the new believer, and those in need of spiritual training the basic tools necessary for their journey to becoming a disciple of Christ. No training program can be an all in all for everyone. Training must continue after the program is over by diligently studying and meditating on the Word, attending Bible Study, faithfulness to Sunday Service, and going out into the highways and byways spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Book Following Jesus the Servant King

Download or read book Following Jesus the Servant King written by Jonathan Lunde and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2010-11-23 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book presents a biblical theology of discipleship that gives the “big picture” of God’s relationship with humanity. It surveys God’s interaction with humankind from Eden, through the sequence of the biblical covenants, and on into the fulfillment that comes in Jesus. Throughout, the twin themes emerge—one of God’s demand of righteousness and another of his prior, enabling grace. Discipleship to Jesus stands in relation to its Old Testament precedents, preserving continuity in the grace/demand interplay. Jesus’ ministry to Israel is the fulfillment of the interactions between God and his people, assuming the roles of righteous King and gracious Servant. Faithful discipleship to Jesus the King, therefore, must always involve responding to his bracing call for righteousness, but doing so in the ongoing experience of the Servant’s prior, enabling grace. This book provides an understanding of Jesus that will facilitate ongoing experiences of transforming grace, which in turn will enable faithful discipleship. As such, it presents a view of Christian discipleship that is grounded in an informed Christology of Jesus, the Servant King."

Download or read book Fort Calvary written by Dario Gonzalez and published by . This book was released on 2017-06-19 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fort Calvary is a discipleship training program that challenges the church (primarily the youth culture) to take steps needed for spiritual growth in the life of a Christian. When we consider spiritual growth, it is clear that we are dealing with the development of a life that is pleasing to the Lord. The Bible indicates that God is righteous, and as followers of Christ, we should always be looking for ways to achieve this lifestyle of holiness. For those reasons, a special emphasis is placed on the reality of spiritual warfare and how the enemy (principalities and rulers of darkness) directs their attention at attacking people who have a passion to follow the life that God wants them to experience--free from choices that will lead us down a road towards destruction. Fort Calvary focuses on the armor of God found in Ephesians chapter six, and how it can be used in order to bring us protection and development in our daily walk with him. Every piece of the armor provides believers with a resource that enables us to achieve our spiritual growth goals. Ephesians 6:1 makes clear that it is God's armor that we need to put on. Sanctification is the direct intervention and gift of God that produces a righteous lifestyle. That is why spiritual growth and spiritual warfare go hand and hand. Battle strategies and military terminology can be found throughout the Bible, and this book uses many of those examples to depict just how intense we are being confronted with this reality every day. Since the beginning of time until now, Satan has declared war on anyone who desires to live for God to the full extent. Fort Calvary takes Biblical characters (youth who experienced what young people go through today) and shows the precepts they implemented in order to put on each armor's spiritual provision. According to the Bible, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and success. There has never been a time when what our world needs today is an army of young people willing to rise up to offer society a life that brings them peace of mind for the wealth of challenges they are being confronted with every day.

Book The One Step with Jesus Restoration Program

Download or read book The One Step with Jesus Restoration Program written by Robert Vann and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A STRICTLY BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE MINISTRIES has developed the WORD FOCUS FELLOWSHIP GROUP, as a Christian alternative to the world's recovery system, which addresses addiction by teaching individuals how to manage sin (addiction) through behavioral modification. Jesus Christ did not give His life on Calvary so a Christian could learn to manage sin but so that they could be set free from the penalty, power and eventually the presence of sin. God's plan for addressing addiction is far superior to man's plan because it not only restores a believer physically, socially and psychologically but it addresses the root cause of addiction, spiritual death. God's plan, salvation spiritually changes a person's nature and provides the potential for their soul to be restored (mind, will, and emotions) as well and addresses all of life's issues. A "WORD FOCUSED" FELLOWSHIP GROUP (Level 1) is a highly interactive, open-ended discipleship group based on 5 Biblical principles. To advance from one principle to the next the group process requires an individual to learn a memory verse and complete a designated exercise that must be shared within the group. It is a discipleship series that takes the "Body of Christ" back to biblical basics founded on the doctrines of salvation: repentance, rebirth, justification, and adoption, positional and progressive holiness (sanctification). Emphasis is placed on a believer understanding and accepting their "new identity" in Christ enabling them to "Walk in the Spirit." It is designed with a biblically strategic format with a five-fold in purpose. A STRICTLY BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE MINISTRIES has developed a Facilitator Guide for use in conjunction with the "WORD FOCUSED" FELLOWSHIP GROUP. The Facilitator Guide is designed to assist counselors, lay counselors and mentors in facilitating the groups to assist participant in taking an in depth and personal view of the different factors in salvation which will assist them in developing an accurate view of their new identity in Christ.

Book excerpt: Go Ye: A 27-week intensive discipleship course The word "disciple" is grounded in "discipline," so we should have a disciplined approach in teaching people how Jesus reacted in every situation. People need to be taught to live and breathe the Word of God. We can only teach them by spending time with them and immersing them in the Word of God in a systematic approach. What is discipleship? Too often, new believers come to Christ and don't receive the mentoring they need to discover how to live the abundant life Christ offers. They can easily become disillusioned with the Christian life simply because they don't connect with the power Christ offers. Christ taught us to not only reach the lost, but to teach the lost: "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Utilizing modern-day parables, Jack Adams helps readers connect with Christ's commands. As you work through the Go Ye course of study, you'll learn to clearly and effectively explain what you believe and why you believe it. Each lesson in the workbook introduces a topic, teaches a principle, and invites you to discover the truth in God's Word. You'll benefit from working through Go Ye if: You desire to find out if the Jesus of the Bible is real You want to understand God's kingdom better You desire to articulate what you believe You want to be able to lead others to Christ You want to disciple others You simply want to know Jesus better REVEREND JACK ADAMS is the founder of Matthew 2819 Ministries, which supports gospel crusades and short-term missions around the world. His first book, Go Ye, a 27-week intensive discipleship course, has trained hundreds of believers in the foundational truths of the Christian faith. His second book, You Are Now Free to Walk with God, helps new believers understand how to embrace their newfound faith and fully experience their new life in Christ. Adams lives in Texas, where he serves his local church and community.

Book excerpt: When church and culture look the same... For the many Christians eager to prove we can be both holy and cool, cultural pressures are too much. We either compartmentalize our faith or drift from it altogether—into a world that’s so alluring. Have you wondered lately: Why does the Western church look so much like the world? Why are so many of my friends leaving the faith? How can we get back to our roots? Disappearing Church will help you sort through concerns like these, guiding you in a thoughtful, faithful, and hopeful response. Weaving together art, history, and theology, pastor and cultural observer Mark Sayers reminds us that real growth happens when the church embraces its countercultural witness, not when it blends in. It’s like Jesus said long ago, “If the salt loses its saltiness, it is no longer good for anything…”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From one point of view, salvation is very simple. It can be summed up in Paul's words to the Philippian jailer: Acts 16:31; "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." At the same time, salvation is profound; it has the most pervasive and permanent impact possible on the one who experiences it. We do not, of course, have to understand all aspects of salvation before we can receive it. We may understand very little when we first trust Christ. There are some things we will not understand until we see the LORD face to face. But studying GOD's Word and trying to understand more fully the truth of our salvation greatly enriches us spiritually. The way of salvation began with atonement of Christ on the cross. The word "atonement" means reconcile a difference or being together two who have been separated. When most people think of salvation, they consider it only in terms of redemption from sin or rescue from hell. However, a careful study of salvation from a Biblical perspective will reveal that it involves different stages:1.Regeneration2.Justification3.Sanctification4.GlorificationREGENRATION: The first stage of salvation is instantaneous and is also called "conversion." It occurs immediately upon receiving Christ as our Savior. Two elements are involved in regeneration. (Read Luke 13:3 & Acts 3:19). The word repent is a translation of the Greek word which mean "a change of mind, heart and attitude." It is a change of mind with respect to sin and brings a change in lifestyle. It's an inward experience which manifests itself in an outward change in one's behavior. In repentance, from hating or just ignoring GOD to loving Him and turning one's life completely over to Him. True repentance is always accompanied by the second element of regeneration: Faith. Faith, which is always involved in repentance, is more than intellectual belief, demons believe intellectually: James 2:19; "You believe that there is one GOD. You do well. Even the demons believe, and tremble!" In the New Testament, faith means a firm persuasion, a conviction based upon hearing. It is believing something to the extent that it changes your life. The kind of faith that accompanies salvation is not in a book, or a church, or a by-law; but in Jesus Christ: Acts 20:21; "Testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward GOD and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ." Repentance must be toward the LORD Jesus Christ because He is the one who died for our sins. Remember; "Repentance is deliberate, willful, turning away from sin and following after GOD. True repentance always leads to a change in conduct or attitude."The purpose of GOD in salvation is to redeem man from his depraved state which is the result of sin. The first part of this purpose is accomplished in the instantaneous portion of salvation (regeneration).JUSTIFICATION: Justification has often been defined as meaning, "Just as if I'd never sinned." This aspect involves acquittal, but justification goes further by declaring a person to be righteous. When GOD justifies us, He does not merely forgive our sins, He sees us in Christ as having his perfect righteousness. Justification has to do with our standing before GOD and is objective. It does not make one personally righteous, but it declares him righteous in a legal sense, and brings him into right relationship with GOD. Paul stresses that we cannot be justified by the works of the Law, for "no one will be declared righteous in GOD's sight by observing the Law; rather, through the Law we become conscious of sin" Romans 3:20. Rather, we are "justified freely by GOD's grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24).The fact that we have been justified becomes clear through the evidence of our changed lives, marked by obedience to GOD and desire to do His will.
