Book New Trends in Microlocal Analysis

Download or read book New Trends in Microlocal Analysis written by J.-M. Bony and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microlocal analysis began around 1970 when Mikio Sato, along with coauthors Masaki Kashiwara and Takahiro Kawai, wrote a decisive article on the structure of pseudodifferential equations, thus laying the foundation of D-modules and the singular spectrums of hyperfunctions. The key idea is the analysis of problems on the phase space, i.e., the cotangent bundle of the base space. Microlocal analysis is an active area of mathematical research that has been applied to many fields such as real and complex analysis, representation theory, topology, number theory, and mathematical physics. This volume contains the presentations given at a seminar jointly organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and Centre National des Recherches Scientifiques entitled New Trends in Microlocal Analysis. The book is divided into three parts: partial differential equations and mathematical analysis, mathematical physics, and algebraic analysis - D-modules and sheave theory. The large variety of new research that is covered will prove invaluable to students and researchers alike.

Book An Introduction to Microlocal Analysis

Download or read book An Introduction to Microlocal Analysis written by Richard B. Melrose and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Microlocal Analysis" is a course on local differential equations taught at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) for graduate students. Although the topic is differential equations, the user may find some background in analysis and topology very useful. In a sense this course deals with a geometric theory of distributions. The topics covered vary from topics in operator theory to topics in algebraic topology like Hochschild homology. The course notes, which are available in PDF format, are incomplete.

Book Advances in Microlocal Analysis

Download or read book Advances in Microlocal Analysis written by H.G. Garnir and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1986-02-28 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 1985 Castel vecchio-Pas coli NATO Advanced Study Institute is aimed to complete the trilogy with the two former institutes I organized : "Boundary Value Problem for Evolution Partial Differential Operators", Liege, 1976 and "Singularities in Boundary Value Problems", Maratea, 1980. It was indeed necessary to record the considerable progress realized in the field of the propagation of singularities of Schwartz Distri butions which led recently to the birth of a new branch of Mathema tical Analysis called Microlocal Analysis. Most of this theory was mainly built to be applied to distribution solutions of linear partial differential problems. A large part of this institute still went in this direction. But, on the other hand, it was also time to explore the new trend to use microlocal analysis In non linear differential problems. I hope that the Castelvecchio NATO ASI reached its purposes with the help of the more famous authorities in the field. The meeting was held in Tuscany (Italy) at Castelvecchio-Pascoli, little village in the mountains north of Lucca on September 2-12, 1985. It was hosted by "11 Ciocco" an international vacation Center, In a comfortable hotel located in magnificent mountain surroundings and provided with all conference and sport facilities.

This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the techniques used in the microlocal treatment of semiclassical problems coming from quantum physics in a pedagogical, way and is mainly addressed to non-specialists in the subject. It is based on lectures taught by the author over several years, and includes many exercises providing outlines of useful applications of the semi-classical theory.

Book Microlocal Analysis And Complex Fourier Analysis

Download or read book Microlocal Analysis And Complex Fourier Analysis written by Keiko Fujita and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002-12-12 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a collection of original papers on microlocal analysis, Fourier analysis in the complex domain, generalized functions and related topics. Most of the papers originate from the talks given at the conference “Prospects of Generalized Functions” (in November, 2001 at RIMS, Kyoto). Reflecting the fact that the papers, except M Morimoto's one, are dedicated to Mitsuo Morimoto, the subjects considered in this book are interdisciplinary, just as Morimoto's works are. The historical backgrounds of the subjects are also discussed in depth in some contributions. Thus, this book should be valuable not only to the specialists in the fields, but also to those who are interested in the history of modern mathematics such as distributions and hyperfunctions.

Book Nonlinear Theory of Generalized Functions

Download or read book Nonlinear Theory of Generalized Functions written by Michael Oberguggenberger and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1999-03-16 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Questions regarding the interplay of nonlinearity and the creation and propagation of singularities arise in a variety of fields-including nonlinear partial differential equations, noise-driven stochastic partial differential equations, general relativity, and geometry with singularities. A workshop held at the Erwin-Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematical Physics in Vienna investigated these questions and culminated in this volume of invited papers from experts in the fields of nonlinear partial differential equations, structure theory of generalized functions, geometry and general relativity, stochastic partial differential equations, and nonstandard analysis. The authors provide the latest research relevant to work in partial differential equations, mathematical physics, and nonlinear analysis. With a focus on applications, this books provides a compilation of recent approaches to the problem of singularities in nonlinear models. The theory of differential algebras of generalized functions serves as the central theme of the project, along with its interrelations with classical methods.

Book Microlocal Analysis Sharp Spectral Asymptotics and Applications V

Download or read book Microlocal Analysis Sharp Spectral Asymptotics and Applications V written by Victor Ivrii and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-13 with total page 739 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prime goal of this monograph, which comprises a total of five volumes, is to derive sharp spectral asymptotics for broad classes of partial differential operators using techniques from semiclassical microlocal analysis, in particular, propagation of singularities, and to subsequently use the variational estimates in “small” domains to consider domains with singularities of different kinds. In turn, the general theory (results and methods developed) is applied to the Magnetic Schrödinger operator, miscellaneous problems, and multiparticle quantum theory. In this volume the methods developed in Volumes I, II, III and IV are applied to multiparticle quantum theory (asymptotics of the ground state energy and related problems), and to miscellaneous spectral problems.
