Canadian bottled water exports to China have grown significantly over the last five years, although the supply gap is also growing. Book Sector Trend Analysis Pulse Trends in China

Download or read book Sector Trend Analysis Pulse Trends in China written by Karim Zarrouki and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In 2016, China was estimated to be the third-largest market for pulse consumption in the Asia Pacific region with total volume sales amounting to 2.3 million tonnes. China makes up 6% of the region's pulse market with a 1.7kg per capita in consumption. Although, China makes up a substantive portion of the pulse sales in the region, there remains to be a small consumer base for pulses in bulk. This is due to limited use of pulses in daily meals and greater consumer preference for fresh pulses rather than dry pulses. According to Euromonitor, pulses in China are mostly used to cook porridge or make deserts, all of which are items not used in daily meals. However, the use of pulses as a value-added ingredient is on the rise, with 2014 and 2015 seeing the highest number of new product introductions that contains pulses as an ingredient"--Introd., p. 2.

Book Price Analysis of China s Carbon Emissions

Download or read book Price Analysis of China s Carbon Emissions written by Wenju Wang and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-04-28 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the determination of China’s carbon emission targets, especially with regard to the allocation of responsibility of China’s import and export carbon emissions, and carbon emission quota allocations across different time periods, industries, and regions. Research outside of China tends to focus on methods and approaches of carbon emission reduction policies and the impact of their implementation. Instead, within China, the focus has been on discussion of the necessity and conditions for China's development of a low-carbon economy as well as its introduction as a concept in the light of overseas comparisons. This book utilizes game theory, mechanism design, input-output theory, econometric theory and other methods to scrutinize China's carbon emissions and carbon emissions targets across different periods, industries, and regions. The result is a detailed theoretical and empirical investigation of carbon emission issues in the Chinese context. The book will be essential reading for students and scholars of economics, especially those with a focus on Chinese economic development and policymakers in the low-carbon economy sphere.

Book China s New Sources of Economic Growth Vol 1

Download or read book China s New Sources of Economic Growth Vol 1 written by Ligang Song and published by ANU Press. This book was released on 2016-07-21 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: China’s change to a new model of growth, now called the ‘new normal’, was always going to be hard. Events over the past year show how hard it is. The attempts to moderate the extremes of high investment and low consumption, the correction of overcapacity in the heavy industries that were the mainstays of the old model of growth, the hauling in of the immense debt hangover from the fiscal and monetary expansion that pulled China out of the Great Crash of 2008 would all have been hard at any time. They are harder when changes in economic policy and structure coincide with stagnation in global trade and rising protectionist sentiment in developed countries, extraordinarily rapid demographic change and recognition of the urgency of easing the environmental damage from the old model. China’s economy has slowed and there are worries that the authorities will not be able to contain the slowdown within preferred limits. This year’s Update explores the challenge of the slowdown in growth and the change in economic structure. Leading experts on China’s economy and environment review change within China’s new model of growth, and its interaction with ageing, environmental pressure, new patterns of urbanisation, and debt problems at different levels of government. It illuminates some new developments in China’s economy, including the transformational potential of internet banking, and the dynamics of financial market instability. China’s economic development since 1978 is full of exciting change, and this year’s China Update is again the way to know it as it is happening.
