Book Spiritual Science

Download or read book Spiritual Science written by Steve Taylor and published by Watkins Media Limited. This book was released on 2018-09-18 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is often assumed that there are two ways of interpreting the world: a rational scientific way, or an irrational religious way. Spiritual Science offers a third alternative: a spiritual view of reality that transcends both conventional science and religion, and answers many of the riddles that neither can explain. The standard model of science has had little success in explaining such areas as human consciousness, the connection between the mind and the body, altruism and ‘anomalous’ phenomena such as near-death experiences, psi phenomena (such as telepathy) and spiritual experiences. But from a ‘panspiritist’ point of view – which sees spirit or consciousness as a fundamental essence of reality – it is possible to make sense of all these things. Steve Taylor puts forward the evidence for a spiritual view of reality, drawing on the insights of philosophers, physicists, mystics, as well as spiritual traditions and indigenous cultures. He systematically shows how a ‘panspiritist’ view can explain many puzzling aspects of science and the world, including evolution and the origins of life, and a wide range of other phenomena such as quantum physics, the placebo effect, precognition and neuroplasticity. Spiritual Science offers a new vision of the world that is compatible with both modern science and ancient spiritual teachings. It provides a more accurate and holistic account of reality than conventional science or religion, integrating a wide range of phenomena that are excluded from both. After showing how the materialist worldview demeans the world and human life, Spiritual Science offers a brighter alternative – a vision of the world as sacred and interconnected, and of human life as meaningful and purposeful. Spiritual Science explains how the standard materialist model of reality developed, and turned into a belief system. This belief system can only function by denying (or explaining away) a whole range of phenomena that are part of human experience. It is possible to be scientific without adopting this belief system – in fact, it is much more rational to do so.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spiritual healing has been a cornerstone of Christian belief from its beginnings, although there are various interpretations of what exactly it is and how it happens. To address these questions, the contributors to this volume come together to examine spiritual healing from a number of disciplinary perspectives. How can such healing be explained through a scientific or medical lens? What do biblical and historical instantiations of it tell us today? And how are we to think of it as anthropologists, philosophers, or theologians? Finally, what does all this mean for those seeking spiritual healing for themselves, or pastors walking alongside the afflicted? Deftly edited by theologian Sarah Coakley, Spiritual Healing offers a composite narrative that investigates the many intermingled factors at work in this intriguing phenomenon. The result is a human story as much as it is a theological one, satisfying discerning believers and skeptics alike in its rigorous pursuit of truth and meaning.

Download or read book Spiritual Healing written by Fraser Watts and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2011-01-06 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has recently been much interest in the relationship between science and religion, and how they combine to give us a 'binocular' perspective on things. One important phenomenon which has been neglected in recent work is the concept of spiritual healing. This edited collection explores a variety of approaches to spiritual healing from different religious points of view, identifying both what it is and how it works. The authors also explore the biological and psychological processes, open to scientific enquiry, through which healing may be mediated. As such, this book indicates the central proposition that religious and scientific perspectives answer different questions about healing, and there is not necessarily any conflict between them.

Book The Science of Subtle Energy

Download or read book The Science of Subtle Energy written by Yury Kronn and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2022-04-19 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Shares the results of the author’s rigorous, repeatable, and predictable experiments with subtle energy • Shows how the mind interacts with matter by means of subtle energy--the key to the placebo effect, the healing power of affirmations and prayers, and energy medicine • Demonstrates how to harness subtle energy and explains the author’s technology to generate subtle energy formulations with practical applications Instruments of modern physics can measure the energies of the electromagnetic spectrum, but these energies only account for roughly 4 percent of the total identifiable mass-energy of the universe. What makes up the remaining 96%? In this scientifically based yet accessible analysis, Yury Kronn, Ph.D., explores the nature of the remaining 96% of the universe’s mass-energies. Contemporary science calls this massenergy “dark matter,” and the ancients called it life force, prana, or chi. Kronn shows how this subtle energy belongs to the subatomic world and how it follows laws that are fundamentally different from those known to contemporary science. Sharing the results of his rigorous, repeatable, and predictable experiments with subtle energy, the author looks at the possible mechanisms of subtle energy’s interaction with physical matter and with the human body. He shows how the mind interacts with matter by means of subtle energy—giving us the key to understanding the placebo effect and extrasensory perception as well as the healing power of affirmations and energy medicine. Kronn demonstrates how it’s possible to harness subtle energy and explains his development of Vital Force Technology, which integrates ancient knowledge of the life force with modern technology to generate specific subtle energy formulations for practical applications. He presents his experimental results creating subtle energy formulas to positively influence the germination of seeds and the growth of plants. He also demonstrates the possibility of using subtle energy for creating clean and energetic-pollution-free environments for vitality and better healing. Outlining the many benefits of subtle energy technology to individuals, societies, and the planet as a whole, Kronn reveals how the transformative power of subtle energy arises from the vast potential of human consciousness.

Download or read book Science and Spiritual Healing written by Rolf A. F. Witzsche and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-07-30 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During mankind's 2.5-million-year history our age of modern medicine covered but a brief period, comparable to a blink of an eye. This poses the question, how did mankind heal itself during all those prior ages, before the age of medicine? Did mankind live without help or hope? Hardly! Evidence suggests that spiritual healing has had a long history and may have in fact shaped mankind into what we are today. Spiritual healing also appears to have been progressive itself, unfolding with a scientific dimension that is naturally open to infinity. Modern medicine itself has had a crude beginning and undergone a long string of progressive development. It stands to reason that both developments, medicine and Spirit, will ultimately merge so that in the end medicine will be Spirit and spiritual. The book presented here is Volume 2a of the research series, Discovering Infinity. The series was created over 15 years beginning in the late-1980s based in some degree on the work of Mary Baker Eddy and Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr.. The book was first published in 2003, and has been updated thereafter. The reprint presented here is of the latest edition.

Book An Introduction to Anthroposophical Medicine

Download or read book An Introduction to Anthroposophical Medicine written by Victor Bott and published by Rudolf Steiner Press. This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In modern times western societies have become increasingly familiar and at ease with many complementary and alternative types of medicine, often derived from eastern sources. Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophical medicine, founded in the early part of the twentieth century, is a renewal of the original sources of western medicine. However, unlike many modern medical practices based on reductionist, materialistic thought, Steiner's truly holistic system encompasses a picture of the human being as an entity of body, soul and spirit. Anthroposophical medicine seeks to bring harmony to these various aspects of the human constitution. Victor Bott, a medical doctor, gives a comprehensive overview of this remarkable system of medicine, and presents a new approach to understanding the various types of diseases. His survey includes a discussion of the stages of human development, the roles of various organs such as the lungs, liver, kidneys and heart, particular diseases of many kinds, and pointers as to why people fall ill in the first place. He also discusses the increasing prevalence of cancer, and gives insights into specific phenomena such as the menstrual cycle. This volume will be illuminating both for medical practitioners and therapists who wish to learn more about anthroposophical medicine, and for patients who would like a deeper understanding of a key medical approach.
