A plenary session included a presentation of various linkage and transition issues which were later addressed individually in small group discussions and regional laboratory activities. Two presenters then addressed the issue of parental and family involvement in the transition to school, while three individuals discussed the State Head Start Collaboration Program in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Oregon. Six roundtable sessions examined various issues involved in the home to school transition process. Concluding remarks addressed the challenges and opportunities facing early childhood education.
