Book Spiritual Warfare and Missions

Download or read book Spiritual Warfare and Missions written by Jerry Rankin and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2010-06-01 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mission of God to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19, HCSB) is a major target of spiritual warfare today. In this new book by International Mission Board president Jerry Rankin and noted missiologist Ed Stetzer, the authors call out Satan’s ongoing strategy to convince Christians that the Great Commission is optional. Through deceit, he is eroding the authoritative mandate of Scripture, leading believers to tell themselves that international discipleship is a task better left to denomination and mission agencies—not the sort of kingdom work that every believer can do. But for every evil success, Rankin and Stetzer point to where Satan is failing, thus encouraging readers to renew their passion to declare God’s glory among the nations. Indeed, by taking up the call to action here, we can be sure that the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdom of the Lord.

In recent years, pastor and teacher Dennis McCallum found himself fielding more and more questions about Satan. He wanted to recommend a book on the subject, but those he found either reflected extreme beliefs, contained little biblical instruction, used fear tactics, or were poorly written. In Satan and His Kingdom, McCallum clarifies what is true and what is false about Satan, demons, and demonic control--both historically and today. He shows readers how to effectively battle the enemy individually and corporately, all the while keeping their focus on Christ, not Satan. A reliable resource for pastors, lay leaders, and any Christian wanting to know more about evil in the world.

Book excerpt: Pastor and author J. D. Greear reveals that the secret to a robust, passionate faith isn't getting all the right answers about God, but seeing God as the awesome, glorious, and infinite presence that He is. We like God small. We prefer a God who is safe, domesticated, who thinks like we think, likes what we like, and whom we can manage, predict, and control. A small God is convenient. Practical. Manageable. For us, thinking of God as so infinitely greater and wiser than we are and who would cause us to tremble in his presence is a leftover relic from an oppressive, archaic view of religion. But what if this small version of God we've created is holding us back from the greatest experience of our lives--from genuine, confident, world-transforming faith? In Not God Enough, J.D. reveals how to discover a God who: is big enough to handle your questions, doubts, and fears is not silent is worthy of worship wants to take you from boring to bold in your faith has a purpose and mission for you on earth is pursuing you right now The truth: God is big. Bigger than big. Bigger than all the words we use to say big. Only a God of infinite power, wisdom, and majesty can answer our deepest questions and meet our deepest longings. God is not just a slightly better, slightly smarter version of you. God is infinite and glorious, and an encounter with Him won't just change the way you think about your faith. It'll change your entire life.

Book Precious Remedies Against Satan s Devices

Download or read book Precious Remedies Against Satan s Devices written by Thomas Brooks and published by No Series Linked. This book was released on 2022-08-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1652, Thomas Brooks' "Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices" offers insights into the snares and schemes of the devil which are timely and relevant for today. Though centuries have passed since its writing, this timeless classic remains an amazing work of teaching on the thousands of ways Satan seeks to destroy every Christian and the thousands of ways God has provided every Christian to defeat Satan's nefarious schemes. In true Puritan style, this book is a serious tome in which the author minces no words and gets straight to the point. The good news is that, though Satan is vicious in his drive to destroy God's people, he can and must be withstood! As this book explain, God makes victory possible by strengthening His people to overcome the Tempter. An earnest, passionate, and deadly serious author, Brooks spared no effort or source to persuade and plead with his readers. His method is to lead off with one of Satan's devices (some lie that Satan seeks to impress upon us) and then show the reader various ways to combat that particular device (the remedies). Like other Puritan books of his day, Brook's writing is solidly Biblical. Almost every remedy Brooks offers reminds the reader of some Biblical truth-urging them to think on it, consider, ponder and soak it in. Instead of some magic mantra or special prayer tactic, Brooks simply shines the light of Scriptures on the problems each Christian will face. Brooks was fond of quoting "wise heathens" (such as Zeno and Seneca) in his writing. His willingness to draw from non-Biblical sources is a good example of just how broadminded the Puritans really were, even as they walked the straight and narrow. The free use of Biblical truth from the lips of pagan authors shows a breadth of thinking and outlook often unattributed to Christian authors of such unbending theology and purpose.

Book Striving Against Satan

Download or read book Striving Against Satan written by Joel Beeke and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you are a true believer, Satan hates you because you bear the image of Christ and because you were snatched from his power. You deserted Satan and he wants you back. While we should not overestimate Satans power, to our peril we underestimate an enemy who is living, intelligent, resourceful and cunning. Every Christian is in a battle, which is fierce, spiritual and necessary. It is a battle between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to know the enemy his personality, his strategies, his weaknesses, his defeat on Calvary and his final judgement. In a day when society has, in many ways, placed itself under Satans rule, when certain branches of the church are preoccupied with deliverance ministries, while others deny the devils existence, Dr Beekes book is a sober, practical perspective on this vital subject. He states, we must know our enemy ... we must know how to withstand him and what spiritual weapons to take up against him. We must defeat him by faith, through lives that bear fruit and spread the truth.

Book excerpt: CAUTION: This book is not for casual Christians. It reveals a systematic hidden plan by satan and his human servants to infiltrate and destroy the local church, today. This information is not speculation, but part of a training and agenda that Pastor George McVey helped implement in churches during his time in the occult before coming to a relationship with Christ. Pastor George is sharing the 8 steps of THE PLAN he was trained to use to help destroy a church from the inside during his time in the occult. This plan is simple and yet effective. As you read the actual words of THE PLAN for yourself you will begin to see how widespread it's use is, and how effective it has been for years and still is today. However, you'll not only read the actual plan; but Pastor George will share with you the most anointed battle tactics to stop the effectiveness of this plan in your church. This booklet is for anyone who wants to stop the devil in his tracks and see the church revived and deliverance, healing, and salvation come to their community again. Pastor George grew up the son of a church elder and the missions treasurer for the church his family attended. George rejected his parent's faith and joined a satanic order in his teen years. This booklet is the results of that time. Since his salvation and call to ministry, God has used Pastor George to bring deliverance to those caught in the occult and awareness to the Church of how to effectively fight satan in communities all over the country. Pastor George is putting his own life at risk to share this information with the Church today. During the writing of this booklet he was warned repeatedly that to share this information would lead to attacks by his former satanic order to his reputation, health, safety, life and that of his family.
