Book excerpt: Cancer is increasing at an alarming rate and one in three people will develop cancer at some point in their lives. It offers guidance for people who wish to avoid getting cancer, and for those who want to know what they can do nutritionally if they have cancer and/or want to prevent reoccurrence. By improving your diet and taking the right nutritional supplements you really can say no to cancer.
Download or read book Salvestrols Nature written by Brian A. Schaefer and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-09-19 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Salvestrols are a new class of natural compounds that have a pharmacological definition rather than a chemical definition. They are defined by the action of the metabolites produced when they are metabolised by the CYP1B1 enzyme in cancer cells. Simply put, salvestrols are food-based compounds that are metabolised by CYP1B1 to produce metabolites that are anticancer agents. These anticancer agents suppress tumour growth by killing the cancer cells. Salvestrols provide an explanation of the link between diet and cancer and between fruit and vegetable consumption and lower cancer incidence.
Download or read book Salvestrols written by Brian Schaefer and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-12 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people have adopted dietary change and Salvestrols as a means of addressing dietary deficiency after receiving a diagnosis of cancer. We have had the opportunity to work closely with a number of these people to put together case studies. These case studies cover a wide cross section of cancers: anal; bladder; breast; colon; leukaemia; liver; lung; lymphoma; melanoma; peritoneal; and prostate. They represent the situations of people from a number of different countries: Canada; England; Korea; New Zealand; South Africa; and the United States. Obviously both males and females are involved and they represent a cross-section of ages from 36 to 94. All of these people achieved remission. Over the last year I have been conducting a follow up on these people to determine how they have got on after achieving remission. To begin I will go through each of their situations as they worked through to remission. I will then go through the data obtained through follow up to highlight the lessons learned.

Download or read book Advances in Nutrition and Cancer 2 written by Vincenzo Zappia and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume includes contributions presented at the Second International Sym posium on Nutrition and Cancer, held in Naples, Italy, in October 1998 at the National Tumor Institute "Fondazione Pascale." During the Conference, experts from different disciplines discussed pivotal and timely subjects on the interactions between human nutrition and the development of malignancies. Comparing the themes of this Meeting with those discussed at the First Sympo sium in 1992, the major scientific advancements certainly derive from the extensive use of molecular approaches to perform research in nutrition. Moreover, the fundamental observation of R. Doll and R. Peto (1981), which suggested that at least 35% of all cancers (with large differences among different tumors) might be prevented by dietary regimens, has been definitively confirmed by epidemiological studies. On the other hand, the relationships between diet and cancer are quite intricate and complex; it is difficult, and at the same time not methodologically correct, to reduce them to simple terms. Metabolic and hormonal factors, contaminants and biological agents, and deficiency of specific protective nutrients are all pieces of the same puzzle.
