His grandson, Thomas William Davis (1719-1791), married Tacy Crandall in Westerly, Rhode Island and led a group of Seventh Day Baptists to seek a location for colonization in what became Salem, Virginia (later West Virginia). Descendants lived in West Virginia, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey and elsewhere.
