Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book is a tribute to mostly unsung heroines of our lives; our mothers. The book is a precious and playful banter between a 70-year-old traditional Punjabi mother and her 45-year-old part-Punjabi, part-cosmopolitan, part-traditional, part-rebel daughter, trying to get along with each other while sliding down the chute of daily life. Based in a Punjabi household, the book has a universal appeal as the author has translated every Punjabi dialogue or expression written in ‘Gurmukhi’ script, into English. The book has a very large-hearted witty approach to life's molehills and mountains alike."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The man of self-confidence is a master of destiny. He is positive and affirmative. Swami Vivekananda says, “The history of the world is the history of a few men who had faith in themselves. That faith calls out the divinity within. You can do anything. You fail only when you do not strive sufficiently to manifest infinite power. As soon as a man or a nation loses faith, death comes.” At another place, he said, “Let people say whatever they like, stick to your own convention, and rest assured, the world will be at your feet. They say, Have faith in this fellow or that fellow, but I say, Have faith in yourself first, that’s the way. Have faith in yourself. All power is in you. Be conscious and bring it out. Say, I can do everything.”

Book excerpt: (Ruh) Dear Soul, Do not despair as you enter the city of catastrophe. A Sufi is grateful for his blessings, and steadfast in his trials. “Zikr” is a collection of long and short verses. It is a poetic invocation of the beloved, the central muse. The muse, in the poet’s perspective, is the human experience. It exists, therefore, as much in the dew of rain as in a lover’s gaze. Every verse tells its own story, a deep love of life, longing and melancholia. It draws indomitable inspiration from the human condition.

Book Decode UPSC My Take On UPSC Beyond

Download or read book Decode UPSC My Take On UPSC Beyond written by Agam Jain, IPS and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2022-03-07 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the answers to the general doubts we have when we start the preparation for UPSC. From my personal experiences, I have tried to addressed some of the issues and how one can prepare. This book is divided into various chapters which have questions related to ‘before UPSC times’ i.e. when I failed in IIT even after taking a drop at Kota and my college life where I wasn’t sure as to where life will take me, ‘during UPSC times’ i.e. when I was preparing for the UPSC and ‘after UPSC’ where questions related to Mussoorie and Hyderabad academies, life of civil servants in general have been answered. I want to put a disclaimer in the beginning itself that this book doesn’t cover any part of the UPSC syllabus and this book is just to motivate and help you strategize your way to fight UPSC and any other life struggle for that matter. I would recommend readers not to ‘study’ this book but ‘read’ it which means that go through this book at leisure time. Pick up the book whenever you are in doubt, feel depressed or want to quit. This book can be your favorite companion during tough times. You will be able to learn few things from my mistakes, you might laugh at few moments, you may picture yourself as a successful candidate while reading this book. There is no compulsion to complete this book and I believe that you can pick this from any page. The size of book is because I tried addressing as much as I could in this book. Thank you. Jai Hind.

Book Geeta Krishan Ki Siddhant Karm Ka

Download or read book Geeta Krishan Ki Siddhant Karm Ka written by Meenakshi Jain and published by Diamond Pocket Books Pvt Ltd. This book was released on 2021-09-07 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have not read so far any such philosophical literature or epic such as the Bhagvad Gita. It consists of lots of hidden mysteries of human life. Although few of them are visible but lots of them are being shrouded and invisible like as myriad air particles in this mysterious atmosphere of the mundane world. I felt like a major part of my life became worthless after glancing through this pious epic, the Bhagvad Gita. Undoubtedly, it is difficult not only to understand its assence and also almost impossible to inbibe its essence. When I read it, then I realized that due to the lack of ease in understanding its language, though people read the Gita but not able to understand its essence. Perhaps it was also the grace and instructions of the Supreme Power that I should make it available to all. I have done my best to make it lucid and easy to understand, so that everyone will be acquainted with its true and hidden message. Also, I have tried to make it ease in the poetic form so that it could be imbibed easily. In true sense, the purpose of both my writing and life will be fulfilled if I could get success in exploring the principles of karma to reach everyone.

Book Ek An English Musical on the life of SHIRDI SAI BABA

Download or read book Ek An English Musical on the life of SHIRDI SAI BABA written by Usha Akella and published by Sterling Publishers Pvt. Ltd. This book was released on 2012-06 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In the present age of consumerism, people often look for quick gains and shortcuts to success. Amidst the cacophony of such supposedly wish-fulfilling claims, the need for a genuine guide, a true guru, is often felt by those who are able to look beyond the facade of oratorial brilliance. The Sai of Shirdi has been one such authentic presence whose voice has healed the injured, guided those who had lost the way, and brought back hope to those who had lost everything. Though he led a simple life, what is known for certain is that he was deeply soaked in the Sufi tradition and was knowledgeable of the Vedanta. Like Kabir, his universalism, tolerance and presence transcended the religious boundaries of both Hinduism and Islam. The significance of Baba is embodied not in his identity but in the impact his presence had on millions of devotees and still continues to have, though he may not be with us physically. The inspiration behind this English musical, on the life and teachings of Sai, was to convey the message of this enigmatic saint to a younger English-speaking audience.

Book Bhakti Religion in North India

Download or read book Bhakti Religion in North India written by David N. Lorenzen and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 1994-11-09 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In India, religion continues to be an absolutely vital source for social as well as personal identity. All manner of groups--political, occupational, and social--remain grounded in specific religious communities. This book analyzes the development of the modern Hindu and Sikh communities in North India starting from about the fifteenth century, when the dominant bhakti tradition of Hinduism became divided into two currents: the sagun and the nirgun. The sagun current, led mostly by Brahmins, has remained dominant in most of North India and has served as the ideological base of the development of modern Hindu nationalism. Several chapters explore the rise of this religious and political movement, paying particular attention to the role played by devotion to Ram. Alternative trends do exist in sagun tradition, however, and are represented here by chapters on the low-caste saint Chokhamel and the tantric sect founded by Kina Ram. The nirgun current, led mostly by persons of Ksand artisan castes, formed the base of both the Sikh community, founded by Guru Nanak, and of various non-Brahmin sectarian movements derived from such saints as Kabir, Raidas, Dadu, and Shiv Dayal Singh. Two chapters discuss the formation of a distinctive Sikh theology and a Sikh community identity separate from that of the Hindus. Other chapters discuss the validity of the sagun-nirgun distinction within Hindu tradition and the interplay of social and religious ideas in nirgun hagiographic texts and in sectarian movements such as the Adi Dharma Mission and the Radhasoami Satsang.
