Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally inspired by what was intended to be a standalone seven-word poem on Instagram; Run Away with Me in Seven Words is the debut co-written collection by Manchester Poets and real-life couple, Amanda Steel and Andy N. This book contains a sequence of poems taking the reader through a journey. Each piece is exactly seven words, where the two writers seem to play emotional tennis with each other using a pared down precision, redefining how sequences of poetry can be written. This collection takes its readers on a lyrical journey from the beginning, celebrating the textures of life and indeed love, between the desire to stand still and the necessity of not been afraid to run away with the flow.

Download or read book The Power of Prayer and the Prayer of Power written by R. A. Torrey and published by Ravenio Books. This book was released on 2023-06-23 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The great need of the church, today, and of human society as a whole, is a genuine, God-sent revival. It is either revival or revolution, and a revolution that will plunge human society and civilization into chaos and utter confusion. It is a time of wide-spread apostasy. This may be the last apostasy from which we will be saved by the return of our Lord Jesus to this earth to take the reins of government into His own thoroughly competent hands. That would, of course, be the greatest and most glorious of all revivals, and a revival that would never end. But we do not know that this is the final apostasy. There have been more thoroughgoing and appalling apostasies in the past than this one is at the present hour. The apostasy in England in the time of the Wesleys, and in America at the time of Jonathan Edwards, was far more complete than the present apostasy is. The apostasy in this country at the opening of the nineteenth century was far more appalling, at least as regards university life, than the apostasy of today. It was the revival under the Wesleys and their associates that saved the church and saved civilization in their day. Even so thoroughgoing a rationalist as Lecky, the historian, admits that it was the revival under the Wesleys that saved civilization in England. And it was the Great Awakening under the leadership of Jonathan Edwards and others that saved the church in America. Our sorest need today is a deep, thoroughgoing. Spirit-wrought, God-sent revival. Such revivals as far as man’s agency is concerned always come in one way— by prayer."

On April 1st, 1980, a bus with hopeful asylees crashed into the Peruvian embassy in Havana, Cuba. Within 48 hours, over 10,800 people occupied every inch of the 28,000-square-foot embassy. Among them was a fourteen-year-old girl clinging to her younger brother. Relying on the wisdom of her father, Hildy also clung to hope. Hope that would see them through appalling conditions, near starvation, and the unpredictable desperation of those around them. This true story is the detailed truth about the struggle of free thinkers, intellectuals, the clergy, and the gay and lesbian community. It is revealed as asylees wait for freedom or death. Hildy’s life experiences in Cuba as a child during the Cold War and the cruelties of communism toward nongovernment sympathizers are woven into this tale of survival. Barefoot to Freedom is a real-life example of the perils of collective thinking and the threat of contemporary socialism. A must-read warning of what happens when democracy is not defended. . Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: R. A. Torreys books have probably helped more people understand the Bible and have led more souls to Christ than the writings of anyone since the Apostle Paul. Not only was Torrey a great Bible teacher and preacher, he was also filled with the Holy Spirit. He lived what he preached. In his worldwide revival crusades, Torrey presented three main teachings: on Christ, on prayer, and on the person of the Holy Spirit. This book focuses on the latter teaching: The Holy Spirit: Who He Is and What He Does. In addition to Torreys teaching on the person of the Holy Spirit, this book presents seven of his shorter teachings, which he shared at Moody Bible Institute, in the churches he pastored, and in various places around the world. These seven teachings are on: The Deity of Jesus Christ. The Power of the Blood. The Power of the Holy Spirit. The Power of Prayer. The Power of the Word of God. The Place of Prayer in Evangelism. Keep Praying Until God Answers. When you read this book, you will receive definite personal blessing in your heart, life, and service, and you will know who the Holy Spirit is and what He does.
