Book Classroom Management Through Behavioral Interventions That Work Tier Two Strategies

Download or read book Classroom Management Through Behavioral Interventions That Work Tier Two Strategies written by Laura A. Riffel, Ph.D. and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-09-29 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on tier two strategies for classroom management. When teachers feel empowered with information, classroom management is easier. This book is filled with specific strategies based on Dr. Riffel's Triple T- Triple R chart. The three T's are 1) Trigger (what sets the behavior in motion), 2) Target (what behavior do you want to target for change), and 3) impacT (what is the student gaining or escaping by engaging in this behavior). The three R's to combat the three T's are 1) Revise the environment (set the student up for success by changing the environment, 2) Replace the behavior (Teach the student what you want to see instead of telling them what not to do, and 3) Reframe your response (change how you react to the target behavior and feed the replacement behavior. When these three formats are followed, the behavior dissipates. This book also includes specific strategies on many common classroom target behaviors. This book coincides with Dr. Riffel's Tier Two Training.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Michael Hiebert's remarkable debut novel tells the riveting story of a small southern town haunted by tragedy, one brave woman's struggle to put a troubling mystery to rest--and its impact on the sensitive boy who comes of age in the midst of it all. . . Abe Teal wasn't even born when Ruby Mae Vickers went missing twelve years ago. Few people in Alvin, Alabama, talk about the months spent looking for her, or about how Ruby Mae's lifeless body was finally found beneath a willow tree. Even Abe's mom, Leah, Alvin's only detective, has avoided the subject. But now, another girl is missing. Fourteen-year-old Mary Ann Dailey took the bus home from school as usual, then simply vanished. Townsfolk comb the dense forests and swampy creeks to no avail. Days later, Tiffany Michelle Yates disappears. Abe saw her only hours before, holding an ice cream cone and wearing a pink dress. Observant and smart, Abe watches his mother battle small-town bureaucracy and old resentments, desperate to find both girls and quietly frantic for her own children's safety. As the search takes on a terrifying urgency, Abe traverses the shifting ground between innocence and hard-won understanding, eager to know and yet fearing what will be revealed. Dream with Little Angels is by turns lyrical, heartbreaking, and shocking--a brilliantly plotted novel of literary suspense and of the dark shadows, painful secrets, and uncompromising courage in one small town. "One of the best books I've read in a long, long while." --Lisa Jackson, New York Times bestselling author

Book excerpt: Perched right on the Mason-Dixon line, tiny Runnymede, Maryland, is ripe with a history almost as colorful as the women who live there—from Celeste Chalfonte, headstrong and aristocratic, who murders for principle and steals her brother’s wife, to Fannie Jump Creighton, who runs a speakeasy right in her own home when hard times come knocking. Then of course, there’re Louise and Julia, the boldly eccentric Hunsenmeir sisters. Wheezie and Juts spend their whole lives in Runnymede, cheerfully quibbling about everything from men to child-rearing to how to drive a car. But they never let small-town life keep them from chasing their biggest dreams—or from being true to who they really are. Sparkling with a perfect combination of sisterhood and sass, Six of One is a richly textured Southern canvas—Rita Mae Brown “at her winning, fondest best”(Kirkus Reviews).
