Download or read book The Secret Doctrine of the Rosicrucians written by Magus Incognito and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Secret Doctrine of the Rosicrucians is one of the many titles attributed to William Walker Atkinson writing under a pseudonym. The book presents the history and background of the Rosicruscians, a mystical brotherhood which uses Christian symbology to communicate otherworldly ideas and meanings. Atkinson, writing as Magnus Incognito, supplies a guide to the beliefs and teachings of the brotherhood, including how to ascend to higher planes, sexual satisfaction as spiritual enlightenment, and the meaning behind auras. Interestingly, much of the Rosicrucisans is taken verbatim from another Atkinson work The Arcane Teachings.MAGNUS INCOGNITO is an alias and pen name of American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932). He only used the pseudonym once, obviously wishing to emphasize the writer's anonymity. Atkinson was editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, including "Yogi," some of which are likely still unknown today.
Download or read book True and Invisible Rosicrucian Order written by Paul Foster Case and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 1989-01-01 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a thorough presentation of the Rosicrucian system of initiation by Dr. Paul Foster Case. He explains that Rosicrucianism is based upon earthly organizations, but on personal unflodment, and clearly describes the distinctive marks of a Rosicrucian. The treatise is divided into two main parts by Dr. Case. The first is a careful examination and interpretation of the principle Rosicrucian maneifestos, the Fama Fraternitatis and the Confessio Fraternitatis. The second part is an explanation of the Rosicrucian grade system, as applied to the diagram of the Tree of Life and tarot attributions. By participating in the outlined procedures, aspirants are put on the right track of preparing themselves for union with the Higher Self, which may or may not include group work with an outer order or fraternity. The first editions of 1927, 1928 and 1933 were of limited publication. The fourth and most complete expansion of the text by Paul Case was finished in 1937, revised by him in 1953 just before his death and published in by Weiser in 1985. It represents the full maturity of his thought on this subject.

Download or read book ROSICRUCIAN MANUAL written by Harvey Spencer Lewis and published by Cosimo Classics. This book was released on 2011-03-01 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published by The Supreme Grand Lodge of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC) in 1918 and again in 1929, with several reissues, the Rosicrucian Manual is an official manual for new members of the AMORC and Rosicrucianism. The AMORC Imperator and author of the book, H. Spencer Lewis, describes the manual as a ""Guide to the Work and Studies of the Order."" It contains a greeting and preliminary instructions, as well as a description of the AMORC and its important officers, general and special instructions to Members and Lodges, Mystic Symbols and their meanings, magical and alchemical explanations, and a dictionary and FAQ. HARVEY SPENCER LEWIS (1883-1939), a well-known Rosicrucian author, mystic, occultist, alchemist, and inventor, was the founder of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC) in the USA, as well as its first Imperator from 1915 until his death. Born in Frenchtown, New Jersey, Lewis used his training as a commercial artist for an advertising company to promote the AMORC in its early days through print ads and pamphlets. Lewis believed it was his mission to spread modern mysticism throughout the United States, which he did by promoting AMORC tours, appearing on radio shows, giving demonstrations, writing books, and inventing mystical devices. His inventions include the Luxatone, the Cosmic Ray Coincidence Counter, and the Sympathetic Vibration Harp.
Download or read book The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz written by Christian Rosencreutz and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, often looked upon as the third Rosicrucian manifesto, has an entirely different tone from the other Rosicrucian documents. Unlike the Rosicrucian manifestoes, which address the transformation of society, The Chemical Wedding is concerned with the inner transformation of the soul. It is a deeply interior work, one which asks the reader to step into its world of symbols and walk with Christian Rosenkreutz along his path of transformation. Despite its importance as a key text of the Western esoteric traditions, this is the first ever contemporary English translation of The Chemical Wedding, made especially for this edition by Joscelyn Godwin. Also included in this edition is an introduction and commentary by Adam McLean, which illuminates the transformative symbolism.
