Book excerpt: Life itself is an ironical battle of sorts, where we strive hard to control and win the world but often fail to control our own lives. Most of us praise spirituality but fail to follow it and recognize its potential in the true sense; the reason—we chase false goals but never attempt to chase the true light that rests within. The author, a believer of God, shares her spiritual realizations led by her own experiences of life, and interprets them in two themes – “God” and “Love”. The author’s prescription to win the story of life in three distinct ways: • Through self-realization, • Embracing love, which is the language of the universe, and • Surrendering to the Supreme Power. Rooh-e-Rumi presents many thought-provoking selections of Rumi, the famous thirteenth-century Persian poet. The quotes and their commendable spiritual interpretations attempted by the author will guide the readers to discover their own link to the experience of love and the unhindered path to spiritual enlightenment. “In this soul-stirring, deep and insightful book, Mamta Sehgal beautifully expounds Rumi’s thoughts on divine love. A must read for Rumi’s followers and all those who believe that God is love.” - Oswald Pereira, veteran journalist and best-selling author of eight books “Mamta Sehgal proves again her deep insight in the subject of spirituality. This book is a crucial pivot on the way we understand devotion”. - Santosh Srivastava, Co-Author, The Gita Way

Book Mevlana Jalal ud Din Rumi Sultan ul Arifeen Sultan Bahoo

Download or read book Mevlana Jalal ud Din Rumi Sultan ul Arifeen Sultan Bahoo written by Sahibzada Sultan Ahmed Ali and published by MUSLIM Institute. This book was released on 2020-03-19 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sufism is no doubt highly indebted to the intellectual depth and breadth of Mevlana Jalal ud Din Mohammad Rumi and Sultan ul Arifeen Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo. Mevlana Rumi was born in Balkh (Afghanistan) in 1207. Hadhrat Shams Tabrizi a Qur anic scholar and an adept in Sufi mysticism entered in Mevlana s life, who awakened and brightened his inner being. Around four centuries after Mevlana Rumi, Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo was born in 1629 in a village named Shorkot located in the city of Jhang, at the eastern bank of Chenab, flowing through the land of five-rivers, the Punjab. Before the birth of Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo, his mother was informed through intuitive inspiration that she would give birth to a special child who would illuminate the world with his pervasive beneficence and guidance. She was told to name him Ba-Hoo . Beneficence of guidance was evidently manifest in his early childhood. As an index of their comprehension of divine reality, Mevlana Rumi expressed the bliss of his inner world in Persian language, while Sultan Bahoo both in Punjabi and Persian. In spite of vast space and temporal distance, cerebral similarities are evident in intellectual and scholarly work of both personalities. Satiated from the spirit of Islam and holy traditions of Exalted Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) with love, compassion, and intuitive knowledge, both divine scholars fought against the negative forces and social evils of their times. Both emphasized on uplifting of human and humanity stands highest in their thoughts, no matter with which tradition or beliefs it is associated. Way back in 2010, the idea of studying Mevlana Rumi and Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo simultaneously was planned and presented by Hadhrat Sultan Muhammad Ali (Chief Patron Islahee Jamaat & Aalmi Tanzeem ul Arifeen). Under his dynamic guidance and untiring supervision, the first Seminar was organized titled Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo, Mevlana Rumi & Spiritualism in 2010 at Islamabad under the auspices of Islahee Jamaat & Aalmi Tanzeem ul Arifeen (Shrine of Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo). Furthermore, Urdu Magazine Monthly Mirrat ul Arifeen International, Lahore published under the supervision of Hadhrat Sultan Mohammad Ali also published some articles on this subject. After the establishment of MUSLIM Institute, a Three Days International Conference on Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo was organized in 2013 by the Institute. Some papers were presented in that conference about the similarities of Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo and Mevlana Rumi s teachings. In continuity of the idea presented by Hadhrat Sultan Mohammad Ali to study the teachings of these two towering personalities together the Institute organized an international conference on Mevlana Rumi and Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo in 2014 in Islamabad. The papers presented and discourse analysis made in the conference were much appreciated by the academics, researchers and general audience because people not only have literary connection with these two great personalities but they also have spiritual attachment with Mevlana Rumi and Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo. Such positive and appreciative feedback led us to work further on this innovative idea. Afterwards, the discussion with Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar led us to plan international conferences in collaboration of MUSLIM Institute and Faculty of Oriental Learning, University of the Punjab Lahore. Since then, two International Conferences have been organized with the mutual efforts where scholars have presented their papers and statements on Mevlana Rumi and Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo. Contents presented in this book consist of essays and statements presented in aforementioned events and publications.

Book In Search of Oneness

Download or read book In Search of Oneness written by Moosa Raza and published by Penguin UK. This book was released on 2012-09-15 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This free-flowing narrative illuminates the journey of the author, a devout Muslim, through sacred books and holy men of all religions---starting with his own---in search of a personal god and faith, and his coming upon the Bhagavad Gītā. Examining commentaries on this text, from Sankara to Abdur Rahman Chishti, alongside some renderings of the Quran here, Moosa Raza finds many common threads: summoning God through sādhanā or dhikr; reaching God through daan or giving and the service of the destitute; and seeking ecstasy through self-mastery, detachment and surrender. These original observations are complemented by his encounters with people practising these values, like his ailing school teacher who felt God was always behind him or his friend, a senior civil servant, who, trusting in Allah’s providence, kept an open home for the poor and the homeless. Through these experiences and his own striving, Raza celebrates the oneness and power of faith and spirituality, showing a path for other seekers.

Book excerpt: A passionate and deep exploration of how love is essential to our spiritual growth and development, from beloved author and teacher A. H. Almaas. Love is a universal energy--and a primary force that powers our movement toward spiritual illumination. All the ways we need love are simply reflections of our need for spiritual growth. In Love Unveiled, A. H. Almaas explores three dimensions of love: appreciative love--the true liking of somebody or something; merging or connecting love--a force that melts away separateness; and passionate, ecstatic love--capable of consuming us from inside. In their own way, each reveals the beauty and exquisiteness of our spiritual heart, which is the heart of the divine. However, the path of spiritual love is not without challenges. Almaas explores the barriers that tend to block our experience of loving awakening and provides experiential exercises throughout the book to help readers along their path. The exercises focus on the obstacles or misunderstandings that commonly arise for each quality or dimension of love. Presented in the form of writing or monologuing prompts, readers can work independently or in small groups to confront the emotional obstacles on their spiritual path. Regardless of where you are on your path, Love Unveiled will help you explore love in three essential dimensions and gain a deeper connection to yourself.
