Book Financial Valuation

Download or read book Financial Valuation written by James R. Hitchner and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-09-30 with total page 1370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Praise for Financial Valuation "This Second Edition addresses virtually all of the recent hot topics in business valuation, and there are many of them since the first edition. Most chapters are updated with new material, including, especially, the Duff & Phelps Risk Premium Report as an alternative to Ibbotson's risk premium data. As with the first edition, the authors are very well-known and provide incisive analysis." --Shannon Pratt, CFA, FASA, MCBA, CM&AA, CEO, Shannon Pratt Valuations, LLC "Though the first edition of Mr. Hitchner's book was excellent in all regards, this Second Edition squarely puts Hitchner and his team of authors at the top of the list of authorities in the field of business valuation. Few publications on the subject even come close to the book's thorough coverage of the topic, but equally impressive is the clarity with which Hitchner depicts and explains highly complex subject matters. So impressed with Financial Valuation Applications and Models, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts has developed a three-day course based upon this book entitled, 'Advanced Valuation and Case Study Workshop,' which is now a cornerstone training program for our organization." --Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA, Chief Executive Officer, NACVA "This book is a valuable resource for every BV library. It has material not covered in other BV books and this Second Edition has much more information than the first. Financial Valuation Applications and Models is the primary textbook for AICPA's business valuation education and it covers most of the topics on the test for the AICPA's Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential. Its thirty authors are nationally respected practitioners who have written this book for practitioners. Many of the authors are current or former members of the AICPA Business Valuation Committee and the AICPA BV Hall of Fame." --Michael A. Crain, CPA/ABV, ASA, CFA, CFE, Chair, AICPA Business Valuation Committee, Managing Director, The Financial Valuation Group "This book has a tremendous wealth of information that all valuation analysts must have in their libraries. From those just starting their careers to the most experienced practitioner, all valuation analysts will benefit from the invaluable information, ranging from fundamental practices to the most innovative economic and valuation ideas of today." --Scott R. Book Officially Supported Export Credits in a Changing World

Download or read book Officially Supported Export Credits in a Changing World written by Mr.Mario Mansilla and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2005-07-01 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper assesses the issues of government involvement in international trade finance stemming from the recent changes in global financial markets. This study is based on discussions with representatives of export credit agencies during the period from October 2003 to May 2004. A survey of 27 agencies provided valuable insights. Financial flows facilitated by official export credit agencies are large in comparison with official development assistance and gross lending by international financial institutions to developing countries. However, the importance of officially supported trade finance has been declining relative to the rapid expansion of world trade and total capital flows to developing countries. The study highlights the key challenges facing official export credit agencies, including complementing the private sector, facilitating financing to low-income countries while helping maintain these countries’ debt sustainability, and playing a positive role in the area of trade finance in international efforts to address emerging market financial crises.

Book Population Dynamics and Infectious Diseases in Asia

Download or read book Population Dynamics and Infectious Diseases in Asia written by Adrian Sleigh and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2006 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Initially stimulated by a scholarly workshop convened in Singapore in late 2004, and written over the subsequent 18 months, this volume considers the potentially lethal pattern of infectious disease emergence in Asia. It studies linkages to changes in patterns of human activity, including but not limited to shifts in the distribution and concentration of human settlements and the patterns of movement within and between them. It explores the causes and consequences of infectious agents in the region historically and examines such newly emergent natural biological threats as SARS and avian influenza. Drawing on a range of disciplinary perspectives, the book contains analyses rooted in the social, physical and biological sciences as well as works which span these fields. Among the issues considered are the ways in which changes in our natural and built environment, social and economic pressures, shifting policies and patterns of collaboration in responding to disease impact upon our approach to and success in containing serious threats. Infection control has moved beyond the province of clinical experts, epidemiologists and microbiologists, into the mathematics of epidemic prevention and control, as well as the overall physical and human ecology and historical contexts of emerging infections. Not only does such a broad approach enable appreciation of complex forces driving growing epidemic risks in Asia today, it also reveals the importance and relevance of population dynamics, as well as the global urgency of alleviating unsatisfactory health conditions in Asia. The topic and the broad approach has international appeal beyond the region as many of these forces operate throughout the world. Sample Chapter(s). Chapter 1: Transdisciplinary Approaches to Population Dynamics and Infectious Diseases in Asia (756 KB). Contents: Frameworks for Understanding Population Dynamics and Infectious Diseases in Asia; Development and Infectious Diseases in Asia; Population Mobility and Infectious Diseases in Asia; Comparative Perspectives on SARS in Asia; Drawing Lessons from the Past to Respond to Future Challenges. Readership: Academics and professional organizations in public health, medical sociology, geography, demography; international health academics and managers.

Book Denationalisation of Defence

Download or read book Denationalisation of Defence written by Janne Haaland Matlary and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-23 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Denationalisation of Defence consists of two major parts: first, a generic and analytical section which presents the developmental trends in privatization and internationalization of armed force, and second, an empirical section analyzing the impact of these trends on the Nordic countries' defence and security sectors. The Nordic countries have a special relevance as objects of study given their traditionally strong public spheres and state-orientated systems of governance. This volume questions whether the process of denationalization has reached a point where countries are reacting to changes in their security environment by increasingly introducing elements of privatization and international integration.
