IL S'ACCOMPAGNE AUSSI D'UNE PRECARISATION ACCRUE DE L'EMPLOI. L'OBJECTIF DE CETTE THESE EST D'EXPLIQUER CES PHENOMENES EN EXAMINANT LES COMPORTEMENTS DE DEMANDE DE TRAVAIL DES ENTREPRISES. LES TRAVAUX PRESENTES ICI SE SITUENT AU NIVEAU MICROECONOMIQUEDE L'ENTREPRISE : IL S'AGIT D'EVALUER LES SOURCES DES RIGIDITES DE LA DEMANDE DE TRAVAIL. CETTE THESE ARTICULE THEORIE ET APPLICATIONS EMPIRIQUES : DE NOMBREUSES ESTIMATIONS SONT REALISEES POUR LESQUELLES ON UTILISE LES TECHNIQUES DE L'ECONOMETRIE APPLIQUEE A DES DONNEES D'ENTREPRISES. AU-DELA DU COUT SALARIAL, 2 FACTEURS DES RIGIDITES DE LA DEMANDE DE TRAVAIL SONT EXAMINES : LES COUTS D'AJUSTEMENT DU TRAVAIL ET L'INCERTITUDE. ON MONTRE QUE L'EXISTENCE D'UNE INCERTITUDE SUR LE REVENU DE L'ENTREPRISE, ASSOCIEE A DES COUTS D'AJUSTEMENT, CONDUIT A DES RIGIDITES DE LA DEMANDE DE TRAVAIL ET INCITE L'ENTREPRISE A UNE RECOURIR A UNE MAIN-D'OEUVRE FLEXIBLE POUR MIEUX S'AJUSTER AUX CHOCS CONJONCTURELS. 3 RESULTATS SONT OBTENUS : UNE AUGMENTATION DE L'INCERTITUDE RENFORCE LES COMPORTEMENTS D'ATTENTE CONCERNANT L'EMBAUCHE SUR CDI ET LE LICENCIEMENT. L'INERTIE OBSERVEE SUR LES EMPLOIS DE CDI EST COMPENSEE PAR UN “ SUR♭ AJUSTEMENT ” SUR LES EMPLOIS DE CDD. ENFIN, UNE AUGMENTATION DE LA PART DES CDD DANS L'ENTREPRISE AMELIORE LA FLEXIBILITE GLOBALE DE L'EMPLOI, TOUT EN PROTEGEANT LES TRAVAILLEURS SOUS CDI DU LICENCIEMENT. FINALEMENT, ON S'INTERESSE A L'IMPACT DES FLUX DE DEMISSION. EN FRANCE, CES FLUX SONT IMPORTANTS (PLUS IMPORTANTS QUE LES LICENCIEMENTS) ET PROCYCLIQUES. ON MONTRE QUE LA DEMANDE DE TRAVAIL SOUS FORME DE CDI EST PLUS SENSIBLE A SES DETERMINANTS EXOGENES LORSQUE LE TAUX DE DEMISSION AUGMENTE.

Book Project Portfolios in Dynamic Environments

Download or read book Project Portfolios in Dynamic Environments written by Brian Hobbs and published by Project Management Institute. This book was released on 2012-05-01 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Project Portfolios in Dynamic Environments: Organizing for Uncertainty is a comprehensive report of research that addresses this important, rising issue. Authors Yvan Petit and Brian Hobbs present the results of their investigation in a report that significantly advances the theory and also offers tips for practice. Currently, those applying project portfolio management tend to focus on the selection, prioritization, and strategic alignment of projects. Little attention is afforded the potential disturbances to project portfolios such as new projects, terminated projects, delayed projects, incorrect planning due to high uncertainty, and changes in the external environment. Yet, these factors can have highly disruptive, even show-stopping influence. This research seeks to answer: How is uncertainty affecting project portfolios managed in dynamic environments?

Book excerpt: "Your Mindful Compass" takes us behind the emotional curtain to see the mechanisms regulating individuals in social systems. There is great comfort and wisdom in knowing we can increase our awareness to manage the swift and ancient mechanisms of social control. We can gain greater flexibility by seeing how social controls work in systems from ants to humans. To be less controlled by others, we learn how emotional systems influence our relationship-oriented brain. People want to know what goes on in families that give rise to amazing leaders and/or terrorists. For the first time in history we can understand the systems in which we live. The social sciences have been accumulating knowledge since the early fifties as to how we are regulated by others. S. Milgram, S. Ashe, P. Zimbardo and J. Calhoun, detail the vulnerability to being duped and deceived and the difficulty of cooperating when values differ. Murray Bowen, M.D., the first researcher to observe several live-in families, for up to three years, at the National Institute of Mental Health. Describing how family members overly influence one another and distribute stress unevenly, Bowen described both how symptoms and family leaders emerge in highly stressed families. Our brain is not organized to automatically perceive that each family has an emotional system, fine-tuned by evolution and "valuing" its survival as a whole, as much as the survival of any individual. It is easier to see this emotional system function in ants or mice but not in humans. The emotional system is organized to snooker us humans: encouraging us to take sides, run away from others, to pressure others, to get sick, to blame others, and to have great difficulty in seeing our part in problems. It is hard to see that we become anxious, stressed out and even that we are difficult to deal with. But "thinking systems" can open the doors of perception, allowing us to experience the world in a different way. This book offers both coaching ideas and stories from leaders as to strategies to break out from social control by de-triangling, using paradoxes, reversals and other types of interruptions of highly linked emotional processes. Time is needed to think clearly about the automatic nature of the two against one triangle. Time and experience is required as we learn strategies to put two people together and get self outside the control of the system. In addition, it takes time to clarify and define one's principles, to know what "I" will or will not do and to be able to take a stand with others with whom we are very involved. The good news is that systems' thinking is possible for anyone. It is always possible for an individual to understand feelings and to integrate them with their more rational brains. In so doing, an individual increases his or her ability to communicate despite misunderstandings or even rejection from important others. The effort involved in creating your Mindful Compass enables us to perceive the relationship system without experiencing it's threats. The four points on the Mindful Compass are: 1) Action for Self, 2) Resistance to Forward Progress, 3) Knowledge of Social Systems and the 4) The Ability to Stand Alone. Each gives us a view of the process one enters when making an effort to define a self and build an emotional backbone. It is not easy to find our way through the social jungle. The ability to know emotional systems well enough to take a position for self and to become more differentiated is part of the natural way humans cope with pressure. Now people can use available knowledge to build an emotional backbone, by thoughtfully altering their part in the relationship system. No one knows how far one can go by making an effort to be more of a self-defined individual in relationships to others. Through increasing emotional maturity, we can find greater individual freedom at the same time that we increase our ability to cooperate and to be close to others.

Book Exploring Language Pedagogy through Second Language Acquisition Research

Download or read book Exploring Language Pedagogy through Second Language Acquisition Research written by Rod Ellis and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-07-31 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Routledge Introductions to Applied Linguistics is a series of introductory level textbooks covering the core topics in Applied Linguistics, primarily designed for those beginning postgraduate studies, or taking an introductory MA course as well as advanced undergraduates. Titles in the series are also ideal for language professionals returning to academic study. The books take an innovative 'practice to theory' approach, with a 'back-to-front' structure. This leads the reader from real-world problems and issues, through a discussion of intervention and how to engage with these concerns, before finally relating these practical issues to theoretical foundations. Additional features include a glossary of key terms, and discussion questions. Following the back-to-front approach of the series, the book takes problematic issues in language pedagogy as its starting points. These are then examined in terms of second language acquisition. Each chapter begins with a look at the pedagogical proposals found in teacher guides and then asks ‘Do these proposals accord with what we know about how languages are acquired?’ Pedagogical topics covered include teaching methods, syllabus design, explicit instruction, comprehension versus production-based instruction, task-based instruction, authentic materials, the role of the learners’ first language in the classroom, error correction and catering for individual differences. Including a glossary of key terms and questions for discussion at the end of each chapter, and assuming no prior knowledge of second language acquisition, this is the ideal text for all students studying language teaching methods, language teacher education, English teaching methodology and second language acquisition modules in advanced undergraduate and postgraduate/graduate TESOL and Applied Linguistics courses.
