Book Thinking on Scripture A Collection of Theological Essays Volume 2

Download or read book Thinking on Scripture A Collection of Theological Essays Volume 2 written by Steven R. Cook and published by Steven R. Cook. This book was released on 2020-12-19 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this second volume, Dr. Cook provides a series of articles that are part of his morning meditations on Scripture. Meditation, in the biblical sense, is an intentional filling of the mind with divine viewpoint; specifically, God’s Word. The purpose is to saturate our thinking with Scripture so that it will permeate all aspects of our reasoning and guide us into God’s will. These articles touch on subjects such as soteriology, grace, worship, righteous living, and character studies of people such as Saul and David. The overall intent of the book is to inform and inspire believers to live righteously before God.

Book Understanding the Wineskin of the Kingdom

Download or read book Understanding the Wineskin of the Kingdom written by Dr. Joseph Mattera and published by Micro65. This book was released on 2016-06-07 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the Kingdom of God continues to be taught and preached across the world, there is a piece to the overall theology that remains unfinished. In order to bring the Kingdom of God to the earth, we must have agreement and understanding of what that looks like. Societal transformation is necessary to achieving this task. However, this in its own right is still a misunderstood concept that carries objectives which need to be aligned in a biblical perspective in order to attain our mandates as sons of God. How do we do this? By looking at and understanding God's law in relation to the law of the world, by analyzing the true difference between the current state of our world and biblical instruction, and by looking at history to show us where this all began. It is not simply fixed by more revival, but by an ambitious undertaking of unification amongst all the spheres of culture, beginning with the gatekeepers in each realm and by affecting change through them with the proper biblical viewpoint. In the end, we must look to Jesus for the accomplishment of this ambitious attempt at societal transformation. Truly, it is through Him and only Him, that we must empower ourselves to experience the shift that will achieve the end goal of bringing the Kingdom of God to earth, as it is in Heaven.
