Book Riflessioni sulla giustizia penale e Book

Download or read book Riflessioni sulla giustizia penale e Book written by DONINI MASSIMO and published by G Giappichelli Editore. This book was released on 2022-12-07 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vincenzo Malinconico is a wildly unsuccessful lawyer who spends most of his time at the office trying to look busy. His wife has left him. His teenage children worry him to death. And he suffers from a chronic inability to control his sentence structure. When he is asked to fill in as the public defender for alleged Mafioso Mimmo lo Burzone, Malinconico seizes the opportunity to turn his life around. Without dwelling too long on what it might mean to be employed by the mob, he rushes to re-learn the Italian criminal code, all the while attempting to resist any further advances from his employers. Malinconico's life becomes a comical battle to finish what he has started without falling further into the clutches of the mafia. I Hadn't Understood is one of the subtlest and most cunning accounts of the mafia's influence on everyday life in recent decades. And it is certainly the most entertaining. Written with a neurotic's love of detail and wry humor, I Hadn't Understood is an engaging story of family, fatherhood, and the perils of navigating the Italian legal system.

Book Handbook of European Criminal Procedure

Download or read book Handbook of European Criminal Procedure written by Roberto E. Kostoris and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-04-12 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume analyses criminal procedural issues from a European perspective, particularly in connection with EU law and ECHR law. As such, it differs from previous works, which, on the one hand, generally focus only on EU law, and, on the other, address both procedural and substantial aspects, as a result of which the former receive inadequate attention. Indeed, criminal procedural matters in the European context have now reached a level of complexity, but also of maturity, that shows the features of a great design, which, even if not yet defined in all its aspects, appears sufficiently articulated to deserve to be explained in a systematic way. The book offers a guidance for practitioners, academics and students alike. It covers a broad range of topics: from the complex system of the sources of law to the multilevel protection of fundamental rights; from vertical and horizontal judicial and police cooperation to the instruments of mutual recognition, primarily the European Arrest Warrant; but also the European Investigation Order, the execution of confiscation orders, the ne bis in idem principle, the conflicts of jurisdiction and the enforcement of judgements. The book also reflects the latest regulation on the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Book Crime History and Histories of Crime

Download or read book Crime History and Histories of Crime written by Clive Emsley and published by Praeger. This book was released on 1996 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When is a crime a crime—or an act condoned by a significant portion of society? When is a criminal a criminal—or a revolutionary or a national hero? As the chapters in this collection make clear, what constitutes criminal activity varies, to a degree, among different societies and at different moments in a society's history. In this wide-ranging work, major historians of criminology and penology examine aspects of crime and criminal justice from medieval Western Europe to modern day Canada. In addition to examining crime, the judicial system, and punishment in various societies, the chapters look at the evolution of police systems as societies urbanize and undergo population changes. Together these chapters look at many key questions concerning the modern study of criminal behavior. As such, the volume will be of great interest to researchers and scholars of the history of crime.

Book Roma Tre Law Review 01 2020

Download or read book Roma Tre Law Review 01 2020 written by Giulio Napolitano and published by Roma TrE-Press. This book was released on 2020-07-14 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Roma Tre Law Review” is a law review sponsored by the Department of Law of the University of Roma Tre. It is not focused on a specific topic or a set of issues, but it is aimed at surveying transversally – and from an interdisciplinary perspective – the national and trans-national legal landscape. Its main aim is to promote the diffusion of the Italian legal culture, and namely the type of scholarship produced at Roma Tre, abroad, as well as to investigate the development of the law in several fields and places from an Italian and European viewpoint. Accordingly, the review will host contributions ideally characterized by a specific set of features, and namely by their openness to comparative, historical, and interdisciplinary perspectives on all legal issues of not strictly local concern.
