He began my more than fifty-three years of full-time employment at the local tubular steel furniture manufacturers in Claremorris in 1965, and then moved into hospitality in the UK. In 1968 he trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse in Hertfordshire UK. He moved to Mildura in 1983 where he worked as a psychiatric community outreach worker until 2018.
