Dr. Brown, in his late elaborate ex position of this passage, finds that, in certain circumstances, it is right to rebel; and that cer tain taxes, instead of being conscientiously paid, ought to be refused at the hazard of life and property. In reviewing his Lectures, I have pointed out no fewer than thirty false principles and assumptions, and the work could have af forded me many others.
