And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monumental commentary on the book of Revelation, originally published in 1999, has been highly acclaimed by scholars, pastors, students, and others seriously interested in interpreting the Apocalypse for the benefit of the church. Too often Revelation is viewed as a book only about the future. As G. K. Beale shows, however, Revelation is not merely a futurology but a book about how the church should live for the glory of God throughout the ages -- including our own. Engaging important questions concerning the interpretation of Revelation in scholarship today, as well as interacting with the various viewpoints scholars hold on these issues, Beale's work makes a major contribution in the much-debated area of how the Old Testament is used in the Apocalypse. Approaching Revelation in terms of its own historical background and literary character, Beale argues convincingly that John's use of Old Testament allusions -- and the way the Jewish exegetical tradition interpreted these same allusions -- provides the key for unlocking the meaning of Revelation's many obscure metaphors. In the course of Beale's careful verse-by-verse exegesis, which also untangles the logical flow of John's thought as it develops from chapter to chapter, it becomes clear that Revelation's challenging pictures are best understood not by apparent technological and contemporary parallels in the twentieth century but by Old Testament and Jewish parallels from the distant past.

Download or read book Revelation the Novel written by William C. Carson and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-08-18 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Revelation is one of the most well-known and least understood entries in the Bible. For centuries, its thick text and complex imagery has perplexed the common man as well as seasoned biblical scholars, and, through no fault of their own, most people have failed to recognize, let alone appreciate, its underlying message. Revelation, the Novel carries the ancient words of Revelation into contemporary times and places apocalyptic events and considerations into our modern political and social frameworks. In so doing, it is sure to educate and enlighten Christian thinkers, as well as entertain any and all who read it, despite their religious affiliation. At the bottom line, beneath the fresh insight it brings, Revelation, the Novel is an enthralling and entirely thrilling piece of fiction that explores what's slated to happen at the end of the world as we know it, as told from the viewpoints of the Apostle John and the Antichrist. A fearsome yet hopeful tome, it's a must read for fans of horror, dystopian, and disaster fiction.

Book The Little Book of Revelation

Download or read book The Little Book of Revelation written by Eli of Kittim and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a fascinating study in search of the real Jesus. The author concludes that scripture is essentially a collection of prophecies, not a record of past events. Jesus did not say, "Blessed is he who heeds the words of the history of this book," but rather "Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book." Thus, the current tenets of Christianity with regard to the origin and advent of Jesus are based on fundamental misconceptions. The book´s argument is that Christ´s visitation has not yet occurred in the world of time, since it is a future event, and that his origin will be derived from the Greeks, not the Jews, when he does appear.

Book The Reconstruction of the Christian Revelation Claim

Download or read book The Reconstruction of the Christian Revelation Claim written by Stuart C. Hackett and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2009-01-07 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Hackett provides, in digestible form, a comprehensive, systematic, and pervasively philosophical apologetic for the Christian revelation claim. Although the approach is seriously philosophical, the text is free as possible of the earmarks of technical scholarship--reflecting the author's aspiration to reach the common person who has a deep interest in such questions. Thus, although positions, arguments, and counter-arguments are discussed (of necessity), these are set forth without distracting encumbrances. Specifically, this book is designed as a substantial textbook for college and seminary courses in apologetics. In his thorough introduction, Philosophical Prolegomena, a firm base for the whole study is established by initiating the reader firmly in epistemology and the concept of revelation. The main divisions are: -- Christiainity and the Revelation Cosmos: A Philosophical Case for a Theistic Metaphysic. -- Christianity and the Revelational Person: An Historical / Critical Case for the Incarnation of God in Jesus Christ. -- Christianity and the Revelational Word: The Propositional Expression of Revelation in Scripture. Dr. Hackett includes on every page parallel marginal summaries and outlines to guide the reader and to facilitate ready reference.

Book Revelation the Last Call

Download or read book Revelation the Last Call written by Mary Smith and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-09-18 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation was given to us by Jesus Himself, so that we can be sure of the rest of the story. He loved all of us SO much, He died and rose again to save us. He is here, in every progression of the end of time, offering His personal invitation to repent and accept salvation; it is the Last Call. In our world of mistrust, violence, pain and tears, He is here offering relief from all of it; He is completely trustworthy to complete it. Revelation has a very simple message for each one of us: Repent and accept Jesus as Savior, and spend eternity in a wonderful, spectacular City of God where the Tree of Life sustains us. The Last Call is a gripping interpretation of the last book of the Bible. It simplifies the message of a portion of Scripture that is daunting and confusing to many Christians. It offers a stirring call to believers and nonbelievers alike to come to terms with the earth-shaking events portrayed in the Apocalypse. • Pages : 129 pages

Download or read book Revelations written by George Davidson Greenly Jr. and published by Abbott Press. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Between the Fourth and Fifth Crusades there occurred a lesser known but important Crusade. The Albigensian Crusade, launched in 1209, was mounted to eliminate the "heretical" Christian Cathars of Occitania in the south of what is now modern-day France. It was a decades-long struggle to extirpate both the Cathars and the independence of southern France. Prior to the fall of Montsegur, the last bastion of the Cathars, on the 12th of March 1244, legend has it that Cathar "treasure" was spirited away from Montsegur. Was it gold, religious artifacts, or perhaps ancient documents of great significance to the Catholic Church? The physical efforts required in surreptitiously removing "treasure" from Montsegur, the mountain top fortress, during a siege by the Pope's army, dictates documents! Questions scream from the corridors of time: What documents prompted a Crusade of Christians against Christians? Who wrote them? What revelations do they contain? What happened to them? And, why and by what means is the Roman Church now attempting to find the parchments? How and why does the trail lead from the Middle East to the Languedoc region of France, to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, to Oxford University in Great Britain, and finally to Rome where the documents are found in the Vatican's secret archives and translated. Executions of crimes including murder are revealed. Plans for additional murders are revealed and foiled. A plan to stop the probable distribution of the translated documents, if carried out successfully, will change everything.

Book Understanding End Times Prophecy

Download or read book Understanding End Times Prophecy written by Paul Benware and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

Download or read book Revelation s Essential Truths written by Donald Werner and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-10-03 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation is the final book of the New Testament, after the rest of the New Testament was written, God saw the need for one last book, and it is also the last book given by God to give us His final advice, instructions, encouragements and warnings. The Book of the Revelation also contains many apocalyptic visions including the plagues, seals, bowls, etc. In this book, I will not try to interpret all of the apocalyptic visions, because the Book of Revelation has much greater truths that we need to learn first, such as; Who and what is Babylon? How do we get out of Babylon? Who are the redeemed and how can we be among them? How does a person receive the Seal of God? What is the Seal of God? How does a person avoids the Mark of the Beast? What qualifies a person to enter the New Jerusalem? We need to know all of this and more as Judgment Day is fast approaching. And what I found in God's last book, will take most Christians out of their comfort zones, and out of Babylon. What I have to share in this book is far more important than endless speculation on the nature, timing and sequence of the apocalyptic events, with endless speculations as to who is the beast or the false prophets. I'm sure that you will be informed, warned, instructed, encouraged and blessed by this book, just as I was in writing it.
