Book Bibliography of Research Projects Reports

Download or read book Bibliography of Research Projects Reports written by Work Project Administration (Wpa) and published by . This book was released on 2014-05 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WPA Technical Series: Research and Records Bibliography No. 7; Revised April 1943. This work was originally prepared by the Work Projects Administration (formerly the Works Progress Administration), and entitled "WPA Research and Records Bibliography No. 4," dated September 12, 1940, and "Research and Records Bibliography No. 4, revised," issued September 1, 1941. With this printing, the publication was reissued with the title "Bibliography of Research Projects Reports: Check List of Historical Records Survey Publications, revised April 1943," which better reflects the content of the book. This is the final listing of "Historical Records Survey" publications issued between 1936 and 1943, which were prepared under various names and several related federal programs. Included in these publications are transcriptions of state, county, town and municipal records, taken from the various archives that provide detailed information accumulated by each governing body and that depict important and relevant historical data to the genealogist and historian. Many of the records transcribed included minutes of meetings, matters taken before the court, and the work product of various commissions and boards. Also of vital interest to researchers are listings of what reports or publications are available for the various states, counties, and municipalities, and, more importantly, where those publications are located.

Book Registries for Evaluating Patient Outcomes

Download or read book Registries for Evaluating Patient Outcomes written by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality/AHRQ and published by Government Printing Office. This book was released on 2014-04-01 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This User’s Guide is intended to support the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and quality evaluation of registries created to increase understanding of patient outcomes. For the purposes of this guide, a patient registry is an organized system that uses observational study methods to collect uniform data (clinical and other) to evaluate specified outcomes for a population defined by a particular disease, condition, or exposure, and that serves one or more predetermined scientific, clinical, or policy purposes. A registry database is a file (or files) derived from the registry. Although registries can serve many purposes, this guide focuses on registries created for one or more of the following purposes: to describe the natural history of disease, to determine clinical effectiveness or cost-effectiveness of health care products and services, to measure or monitor safety and harm, and/or to measure quality of care. Registries are classified according to how their populations are defined. For example, product registries include patients who have been exposed to biopharmaceutical products or medical devices. Health services registries consist of patients who have had a common procedure, clinical encounter, or hospitalization. Disease or condition registries are defined by patients having the same diagnosis, such as cystic fibrosis or heart failure. The User’s Guide was created by researchers affiliated with AHRQ’s Effective Health Care Program, particularly those who participated in AHRQ’s DEcIDE (Developing Evidence to Inform Decisions About Effectiveness) program. Chapters were subject to multiple internal and external independent reviews.

Book Building an Electronic Records Archive at the National Archives and Records Administration

Download or read book Building an Electronic Records Archive at the National Archives and Records Administration written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2005-06-28 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The federal government generates and increasingly saves a large and growing fraction of its records in electronic form. In 1998, the National Archives and Record Administration (NARA) launched its Electronic Archives (ERA) program to create a system to preserve and provide access to federal electronic records. To assist in this project, NARA asked the NRC to conduct a two-phase study to provide advice as it develops the ERA program. The first two reports (phase one) provided recommendations on design, engineering, and related issues facing the program. This report (phase two) focuses on longer term, more strategic issues including technology trends that will shape the ERA system, archival processes of the ERA, and future evolution of the system. It also provides an assessment of technical and design issues associated with record integrity and authenticity.
