Book Research on Active Vibration Isolation Techniques for Aircraft Pilot Protection

Download or read book Research on Active Vibration Isolation Techniques for Aircraft Pilot Protection written by Peter C. Calcaterra and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An investigation was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of protecting pilots from the vertical dynamic excitations experienced during low-altitude, high-speed (LAHS) flight by means of active isolation techniques. Performance specifications for candidate isolation systems were evolved based on definition of the expected dynamic environment, human tolerance levels, and cockpit clearance. Required vibration isolation and maximum relative displacement values were postulated. Analyses of existing isolation techniques indicated that, for the selected dynamic environment typically experienced during LAHS flights in the vertical direction (i.e., combined vibration and sustained acceleration excitations), passive systems cannot provide the required degree of vibration isolation while simultaneously limiting the maximum relative displacement to the desired values. Various active isolation techniques were evaluated. An active hydraulic system was selected, employing acceleration and displacement feedback mechanisms. Analyses were conducted to define the type of compensation and loop gains required to provide the desired isolation, limit the dynamic deflection, and maintain system stability. A laboratory model for experimental research was designed and tested. Test results show that the developed active hydraulic isolation technique provides the vertical isolation and displacement control postulated to be required for pilot protection during LAHS flight. In addition, the system exhibits zero static deflection, and is essentially insensitive to forces applied at the isolated payload, and to human-body resonance coupling effects. (Author).

Download or read book Optimized Engineering Vibration Isolation Absorption and Control written by Wei Huang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-05-20 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the research results of advanced vibration control technology, based on two types of typical equipment in industrial engineering of China: power equipment and vibration-sensitive equipment. The main contents of this book include optimized active control strategy research, semi-active control research that can track and equivalently achieve active control effects, refined analysis of active control based on finite element method, research on the impact of vibration isolator layout on vibration isolation performance, passive and active control research based on system freedom decoupling and load decoupling, realized passive and active control research using quasi-zero stiffness system based on positive and negative stiffness, intelligent sensors optimization deployment of plane and space structure, and related key technology application cases in engineering applications. This book provides useful references for engineers and researchers in industrial engineering and technical support for practitioners in the development of China's high-end industry.

Book Handbook of Human Vibration

Download or read book Handbook of Human Vibration written by M. J. Griffin and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 1005 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today the human body is exposed to vibration not only while traveling but also during leisure and domestic activities and in many occupations. This volume summarizes the current understanding of the many human responses to vibration.Divided into two parts, this book deals with whole-body vibrations and hand-transmitted vibration. In each part the experimental data and appropriate models are presented in detail so that readers can address practical problems. An extensive guide to national and international standards is provided, and a large multidisciplinary glossary of terms assists in understanding the relevant technical and medical jargon. This comprehensive reference volume is accessible to all those interested in human vibration: medical doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists, and health and safety officials and administrators.LK uses the following bulleted list_This new text features:An up-to-date statement of current knowledge on human responses to vibrationA comprehensive glossary of terms in current use in the fields of vibration and human responseAn extensive bibliography and guide to national and international standards
