Their legacy is one of discovery, unity, and a never-ending quest for knowledge. Their story, as it fades into the annals of time, serves as a reminder of the force of human potential and the limitless possibilities that await us in the cosmos. They have showed us that stars are more than just distant specks of light; they are beacons of inspiration, inspiring us to go beyond our bounds and embrace the universe's unlimited potential.

Book The New Universe and the Human Future

Download or read book The New Universe and the Human Future written by Nancy Ellen Abrams and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2011-04-19 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A cultural philosopher and an astrophysicist attempt to decipher how we fit into the universe, and the impact our placement has on us. After a four-century rupture between science and the questions of value and meaning, this groundbreaking book presents an explosive and potentially life-altering idea: if the world could agree on a shared creation story based on modern cosmology and biology—a story that has just become available—it would redefine our relationship with Planet Earth and benefit all of humanity, now and into the distant future. Written in eloquent, accessible prose and illustrated in magnificent color throughout, including images from innovative simulations of the evolving universe, this book brings the new scientific picture of the universe to life. It interprets what our human place in the cosmos may mean for us and our descendants. It offers unique insights into the potential use of this newfound knowledge to find solutions to seemingly intractable global problems such as climate change and unsustainable growth. And it explains why we need to “think cosmically, act globally” if we're going to have a long-term, prosperous future on Earth. “Should be read by anyone, not just scientists, who worry about the human condition.”—Deepak Chopra, The Huffington Post “A prophetic book. Its message ranks right up there with those of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Joel. Like the prophets, it is at times poetic, demanding, grounded, soaring, empowering, and always awe-inspiring.”—Matthew Fox, Tikkun “The ideas and images are fascinating and certainly contribute to a sense of the profound stakes involved in what we’re doing to the planet and ourselves.”—William Kowinski, North Coast Journal

Book Winds of Change and Shifting Sands

Download or read book Winds of Change and Shifting Sands written by Kathleen Athena Currie Macloud and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2002 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We find ourselves engulfed in a sea of changes: political corruption, business mismanagement, stock market declines, reductions in health and other social programs, and the ever present spectre of war in the world. In the face of dwindling employment opportunities, lower wages, rising costs for everything, including higher education - our young people are often discouraged, disillusioned and demoralized. Those of us approaching retirement may feel the same way, as we watch our investments shrinking instead of growing, our pension benefits being reduced in one way or another, while at the same time our capabilities are diminishing, and opportunities for re-training and re-employment approach zero. Expectations we once had are seen to be based on very shaky foundations. We believed that we could all make it if we worked hard enough, did our homework, got a good education, knew the right people, played our cards right, and didn't rock the boat! In this process we learned self-reliance, creative thinking, positive thinking, how to be a team player, and self-judgement (including self-evaluation). So when our house of cards collapses (as inevitably it does) we are bereft. We are full of self-blame, guilt, shame, and eventually anger, blaming of others, feelings of victimization, and for some, feelings of revenge and then acts of violence. This is and has been our human story. My friend and mentor Kathleen Macloud, for over twenty years up to her death in 2002, gently and lovingly taught me about God's love for me. This is a very different story - one of hope and strength and healing. We do have a choice. We can keep on doing what we're doing that isn't working (a definition of insanity), or we can start to build our lives on a solid foundation - a spiritual foundation. That is Kathleen's story. This is an "owner's manual" to show us how to find our way back to God. Karen E. May

Book The Intelligence of the Cosmos

Download or read book The Intelligence of the Cosmos written by Ervin Laszlo and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-10-17 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the cutting edge of science and living spirituality: a guide to understanding our identity and purpose in the world • Outlines the new understanding of matter and mind coming to light at the cutting edge of physics and consciousness research • Explains how we can evolve consciously, become connected with each other, and flourish on this planet • Includes contributions from Maria Sagi, Kingsley L. Dennis, Emanuel Kuntzelman, Dawna Jones, Shamik Desai, Garry Jacobs, and John R. Audette For the outdated mainstream paradigm the world is a giant mechanism functioning in accordance with known and knowable laws and regularities. The new paradigm emerging in science offers a different concept: The world is an interconnected, coherent whole, and it is informed by a cosmic intelligence. This is not a finite, mechanistic-material world. It is a consciousness-infused whole-system world. We are conscious beings who emerge and co-evolve as complex, cosmic-intelligence in-formed vibrations in the Akashic Field of the universe. Ervin Laszlo and his collaborators from the forefront of science, cosmology, and spirituality show how the re-discovery of who we are and why we are here integrates seamlessly with the wisdom traditions as well as with the new emerging worldview in the sciences, revealing a way forward for humanity on this planet. They explain how we have reached a point of critical incoherence and tell us that to save ourselves, our environment, and society, we need a critical mass of people to consciously evolve a new thinking. Offering a guidepost to orient this evolution, Laszlo examines the nature of consciousness in the universe, showing how our bodies and minds act as transmitters of consciousness from the intelligence of the cosmos and how understanding science’s new concept of the world enables us to re-discover our identity and our purpose in our world. With bold vision and forward thinking, Laszlo and his contributors Maria Sagi, Kingsley L. Dennis, Emanuel Kuntzelman, Dawna Jones, Shamik Desai, Garry Jacobs, and John R. Audette outline the new idea of the world and of ourselves in the world. They help us discover how we can overcome these divisive times and blossom into a new era of peace, coherence, connection, and global wellbeing.

Book What is Reality

Download or read book What is Reality written by Ervin Laszlo and published by SelectBooks, Inc.. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ervin Laszlo's tour de force, What is Reality?, is the product of a half-century of deep contemplation and cutting-edge scholarship. Addressing many of the paradoxes that have confounded modern science over the years, it offers nothing less than a new paradigm of reality, one in which the cosmos is a seamless whole, informed by a single, coherent consciousness manifest in us all. Bringing together science, philosophy, and metaphysics, Laszlo takes aim at accepted wisdom, such as the dichotomies of mind and body, spirit and matter, being and nonbeing, to show how we are all part of an infinite cycle of existence unfolding in spacetime and beyond. Augmented by insightful commentary from a dozen scholars and thinkers, along with a foreword by Deepak Chopra and an introduction by Stanislav Grof, What is Reality? offers a fresh and liberating understanding of the meaning and purpose of existence.

Book excerpt: We stand at the threshold of a revolutionary and empowering new vision of the world. The discoveries of leading-edge science and the insights of spirituality are converging to reveal that the CosMos and all that we term reality is wholly integrated, and that at its most fundamental level, it is a field of information. This is the elemental cosmic mind from which everything emanates, is manifested, and to which all ultimately returns. Research is also demonstrating what the mystics of all traditions have discerned: that we have the innate ability to envision, understand, and experience the CosMos at levels far beyond the limitations of our human persona. CosMos is co-authored by two explorers who combine almost a century of seeking to understand not only how the world is as it is, but why. Philosopher Ervin Laszlo, Ph.D., and healer and scientist Jude Currivan, Ph.D., offer a revisioned view of the world that is no longer fragmented, but is at last, whole. Theirs is a perception of a meaningful and co-creative world that is exquisitely tuned to be "as simple as it can be" for consciousness to explore itself. In these momentous times, the vision shared in Cosmos invites us to open our hearts and minds to re-member who we really are and to take our places as conscious co-creators of our realities and of our evolving cosmic destiny.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Masks of the Universe, Edward Harrison brings together fundamental scientific, philosophical and religious issues in cosmology and raises thought provoking questions. Philosophical issues dominated cosmology in the ancient world. Theological issues ranked foremost in the Middle Ages; astronomy and the physical sciences have taken over in more recent times. Yet every attempt to grasp the true nature of the universe creates a new "mask," People have always pitied the universes of their ancestors, believing that their generation has at last discovered the "real" universe. Do we now stand at the threshold of knowing everything, or have we created yet another "mask," doomed to fade like those preceding ours? Edward Harrison is Adjunct Professor of Astronomy, Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, and Emeritus Professor of Physics and Astronomy, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He worked as a scientist for the Atomic Energy Research Establishment and the Rutherford High Energy Laboratory in England until 1966 when he became a Five College professor at the University of Massachusetts and taught at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith College. He is the author of numerous books, including Cosmology: the Science of the Universe (Cambridge, 2001)

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You are about to embark on an amazing journey toward self-awareness, self-actualization and self-empowerment. The knowledge within these pages can transform your life. I know, because it transformed mine. As a young man I had a spiritual revelation and traveled to Africa-my ancestral homeland. My spiritual journey took me across the continent where I was taught by native spiritual practitioners and elder holistic healers. In Africa I was spiritually directed to gather the laws of the universe. They are the principles that govern every aspect of life. The universe exists in perfect harmony by virtue of these laws. They control and dictate what science calls energy, and what religions call God. If you understand the laws that govern Y.O.U. (Your Own Universe), you can manipulate, shape, and mold them to your liking. I have compiled these 124 Universal Laws and their use in The Laws of The Cosmos. These laws are the rules to The Game of Life. Mastering them will help you succeed in all aspects of life. The Laws of The Cosmos is a credible, and authentic source of wisdom and guidance that anyone can use to create whatever it is they desire to have or become. Imagine this; you are standing by a large pool of water and you throw in a stone that causes ripples in the water. The size, shape, and beauty of the ripples you create depends on the way you stand, the angle of your arm as you throw, the size of the stone and the concentration and the force with which you throw the stone. You do exactly the same thing with the laws that regulate the cosmos by your mental state of mind, emotions, and with your thoughts and intent. Be thy own master-control your fate, your destiny and your luck. Let The Laws of The Cosmos guide you to wealth, prosperity, balance, and a greater understanding of who you are in the universe.

Book A Conception of the Universe Or Exploring the Universe from Within

Download or read book A Conception of the Universe Or Exploring the Universe from Within written by Jeffrey Vogt and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-01-08 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visualize and explore the wonders of our Universe. Black Holes, Dark Matter, Space-Time, Gravity, Light-Speed, Orbits, Photons, Dark Energy, Solar Systems, The Big Bang, Expansion, the shape of the Universe, and even the Multi-Verse! "The following is an intellectual exercise used in an attempt to formulate a larger perspective of the cosmos, applying evidence, logic, and imagination; to lay the ground on which one is able to construct hypothetical tentative chains of thought. Doing so, an individual has the opportunity to formulate diverse models of various subjects, including the very universe in which they "or we" are a part of; thus providing potential explanations and viewpoints to subjects that may otherwise be unattainable or at times even undefinable. Together we shall endeavor to visualize a handful of the universe's known laws. Then continue further by speculating likely or at least possible solutions to other issues that as of yet, we are currently only able to speculate. Provisional or temporary concepts we are willing to amend as updated data is acquired or learned." "Mysteries of the cosmos examined masterfully in this series of thought experiments and cosmological models. From black holes to gravity Vogt pushes the very boundaries of our current understanding of the universe with thought provoking visualizations and original ideas."

Book excerpt: The Dream of the Cosmos, twenty years in the making, is one of the publishing events of the year: brilliant, profound and magisterial in its scope. In it she addresses the real cultural roots of our multifaceted crisis -- spiritual, psychological, ecological, social, political and economic. Much attention since 2008 has been directed to the economic symptoms that are now translating into a widespread social malaise, but few commentators have plumbed the depths as this book does and called for a radically new outlook. For too long the soul and the feminine principle have been marginalised and suppressed, but Anne Baring's life experience and passionate engagement have enabled her to understand and articulate the imbalance in our Western culture and show how it can be overcome. The book is a symbol of hope and renaissance - essential reading for anyone wishing to understand the patterns of Western cultural history and the potentials of its future development.Anne Baring is a lyrical writer. Why? Because she is able not only to amass a vast body of scholarship, and then to order it and produce lucid clarity; but then comes her real genius. Her real genius is to see the light that wants to come through -- through the volumes, through the centuries, through the history, the myths and the legends. And her ability to make sense of human experience, and to express it as lyrically as she does, throws essential light on our present condition. This is contemporary politics as it should be applied by leaders. This is history as it should be taught in schools, to liberate the imaginative souls of children. This is insight and inspiration to open the minds and the hearts of twenty-first century adults. This book will change your perspective on what it is to be human, and enable you to see the opportunity that we humans now have, to evolve. Just read the Introduction and you'll see. This book is a goldmine.Anne Baring has devoted her life to humanity's recovery of the anima mundi - the soul of the world, and indeed its own soul. The Dream of the Cosmos is the climax of that quest, the fruit of a lifetime of thought and feeling, learning and vision. It is the story of a dramatic personal journey, but also an attempt to confront the greatest issues facing our time. Every page breathes her moral passion, her love of beauty, her spiritual aspiration, her deep care for the Earth. Above all, Anne Baring calls for a fundamental transformation in the way human beings live on this Earth and with each other. It would not be too much to say that this book is a cri de coeur from a place deep in the collective psyche that carries not only our past but our future. The Dream of the Cosmos pulses with the fierce tenderness and grave urgency of love for an infinitely precious new being struggling to be born.

Book Recognising Nature s Part in the Cosmos 1

Download or read book Recognising Nature s Part in the Cosmos 1 written by Peet Schutte and published by . This book was released on 2014-07-17 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are four cosmic laws in nature applying that form gravity namely: 1) the Titius Bode law 2) the Lagrangian points 3) the Roche limit 4) the Coanda effect. This is nature and this is what science ignores in favour of covering Newton's mistakes. What you are about to read is the mother of all the conspiracies in science. You are going to read about how science applies a system of mind control with thought processing. Every conspiracy that Science ever thought up such as the Critical Density Conspiracy or the Dark Energy Conspiracy, or any conspiracy connected to science is in place to protect this theoretical conspiracy. By this the conspiracy those teaching science hides the truth from becoming known to anyone outside physics. The conspiracies in place hides the Mother Conspiracy so effective that in three centuries no one outside science got a sniff about what the Mother Conspiracy entails. The Mother Conspiracy is in place so that students in physics are brainwashed by instigating the deliberate sanctioning of mind control on students through their practising of enforcing thought control they unleash on students. I prove that the Mother Conspiracy is in place. I reveal the Mother Conspiracy and I show why it is in place. I show how every student including you reading this has been brainwashed to believe science is believable. Download this book and get the nastiest surprise of your life. See how much you are brainwashed. Then also read how the cosmos truly applies science and read explanations of what was never explained before and how the explained factors interlink. I prove the entirety called the Universe is made up of singularity and contains only singularity in many forms thereof. I prove singularity is not a general phenomenon but is the concept forming the absolute basis of physics and this foundation is transferred to the beginning of mathematics. The Universe is singularity and this is simple to prove; it is the other concepts flowing from this that complicates things. Modern Science can't explain the following because of a lack of proficiency. After finding the building blocks of the Universe I now can show where is the centre of the Universe. Have you thought where is the centre of the Universe? I can answer that...and why is the Universe still grows since the Big Bang...why did the Universe start so small...why did the Universe fit into a neutron at one time...how did everything expand from fitting into a neutron...why does space grow from small to large...where is it going while it is growing...why was the Universe any specific size...what was everything before the Big bang...if you read this you will know all of this! My discovery is the fact that singularity presents the total and complete control of everything there is in all forms of everything there ever could form in the Universe and discovering this fact led me to prove that gravity is the application of P and from extending P further into a six dimensional sphere that is spinning in a six-sided cube, is what makes the Universe form three dimensions using time thereby the cosmos enlists the multi dimensional sphere we live in. However, at the stage where the Universe holds gravity as P, which is at the point before it forms multi-dimensional space, the Universe still is flat although the Universe then is already accepting form by going round in shape-forming when extending from forming singularity as a value when retaining form in the principle of a sphere. I do not wish to burden you with more information about my work unless you have the time to give the work any of your attention because every academic person I have come across is much pressed for time.
