It is in this regard that the Ashtakavarga system is considered to be very authentic and decisive. With its help, prediction regarding the ratio of gains, auspicious directions, gains from brothers, results of planets in transit etc. and the age, wealth, education, wisdom, relation between husband and wife, happiness, property, land, vehicle and deeds of a man can be made easily.

The people who do just the opposite have an untimely end. This shows that a person can reduce his life-span by his own kukarmas. Till a child is of twelve years of age his ayu nirnay should not be done. The first four years of his life and governed by the poorva karmas of his mother, the next four years are governed by the karmas of his father and the next four years are governed by his own karmas. Till twelve years, even prediction of his horoscope should not be done, because whatever the horoscope shows, can get altered because of these super imposing factors. For this reason till that age, every child should be protected through propitiation of planets, medical help and proper care. Only after he has crossed this age, his Ayu Nirnay should be done. This book contains all methods of determination of longevity of a native. Calculation of the longevity of a native is not an easy task. All expert astrologers believe that before interpreting a horoscope it is essential to determine the longevity of native. There are different methods of determining longevity but none of them can be termed as very accurate so it shall be better to follow various methods. In the field of astrology and especially in determining the longevity of a native the role of intuition is most important. Astrologer can develop intuition by continuous meditation and other spiritual practices. One should remember it always that nobody can control life and death. There is only one method of giving shape to our future and that is to bring improvement in our deeds. The summary of our scriptures is embedded in two words- Punya(holy/sacred/meritorious action) and Paap(sin). Our whole existence revolves around these two words only. The above six types of strength is known as Shadbala. Application of Shadbalas : The basic aim for any astrologer is to achieve accuracy in predictions. The calculation of Shadbalas help in meeting this objective in the following ways :- 1.Shad Balas of all planets give an account of assets & liabilities of each planet in a horoscope. Therefore one can have good idea about expectations from each planet. 2. By calculating Shadbalas & strength of all houses, it can be found out which is most powerful amongst Lagna, Moon & Sun. In astrology the predictions are considered more accurate from the chart which is strongest out of these three. 3. During main period & sub period, care has to be taken to find out which planet out of these two dosha lords is more powerful or has greater strength. For example if during Sun-Moon period, it is observed that Sun has move strength than Moon, then results likely to be achieved by native would be predominantly those indicated by Sun. Contrary to this if Moon is more powerful, Moon's influence will be felt in preference to that of Sun even though main period is of Sun. 4. If Shadbalas are ascertained correctly, future predictions can be ventured with sufficient confidence. This book shall be of immense help for learning the methods of calculation of Shadbala.
