Observées jusqu'à z>5 en raison de leur brillance, elles sont abritées par des galaxies elliptiques géantes. L'émission radio révèle la présence d'un trou noir supermassif. Un tore de poussière entourant le noyau actif de galaxie (AGN) agit comme un coronographe naturel permettant alors l'étude de la galaxie hôte. L'objectif de cette thèse est de déterminer l'évolution de la composante stellaire en présence d'un AGN. La décomposition est faite à partir de la distribution spectrale d'énergie (SED) de l'UV au submillimétrique en utilisant le code d'évolution de galaxies PEGASE.3 et un code d' AGN, les deux modélisant l'émission de la poussière par transfert radiatif.En premier lieu, nous présentons le projet HeRGE, 70 radio galaxies observées avec Herschel, qui permet de mesurer leurs luminosités totales infrarouges, comparables à celles des ULIRG. Une décomposition de la luminosité infrarouge entre l'émission AGN et un modèle de starburst est proposée pour l'ensemble de l'échantillon. Ces luminosités élevées sont interprétées en termes de taux d'accrétion et de formation d'étoiles, favorisant la croissance du trou noir par rapport à la galaxie hôte.En second lieu, l'orientation du jet par rapport au tore est contrainte à partir de l'infrarouge moyen et du rapport des émissions radio des lobes (isotrope, 500MHz) et du coeur (anisotrope, 20GHz). Ces observations en accord avec le modèle d'unification permettent d'évaluer le facteur d'absorption Av, l'inclinaison du tore et de contraindre le facteur de Lorentz.Une sélection de 12 radio galaxies observées de l'UV au sub-mm est analysée avec PEGASE.3 et un modèle d'AGN. Une seule composante stellaire est insuffisante. Seules deux composantes (une évoluée et massive, et une jeune issue d'un starburst) permettent un ajustement significatif de la SED complète. Book excerpt: Les galaxies à flambées d'étoiles (SBG) et à noyaux actifs (NAG) sont hôtes d'une activité bien particulière dont on ne comprend pas encore bien les causes exactes, (internes ou externes). Dans cette thèse, nous avons utilisé le 6dFGS, relevé spectroscopique de galaxies avantageusement basé sur des catalogues photométriques en proche-infrarouge (NIR) afin de mieux quantifier l'environnement de ces galaxies. Nous nous sommes majoritairement intéressés aux galaxies émettrices en continu radio par recoupement avec le relevé NVSS à 1.4 GHz. Nous nous sommes focalisés sur l'influence de l'environnement sur les SBG et NAG à l'échelle du superamas de Shapley. Nous avons pu montrer que les galaxies radio semblent éviter des régions aussi denses que le coeur du super-amas. Ceci est dû à l'état dynamique de fusion bien particulier de ses complexes d'amas. Les conditions extrêmes ont une très forte répercussion sur les galaxies, notamment sur le rapport de leur luminosité radio sur NIR (RK). Nous avons utilisé des arguments analytiques simples pour montrer que le balayage par pression de choc pourrait être accru dans des fusions d'amas, empêchant la formation d'étoiles, voir même le phénomêne NAG. Dans de telles régions, nous avons observé que les profils des galaxies d'amas dévient fortement d'un profil NFW typique. Nous avons ensuite étudié un échantillon d'amas d'Abell : nous confirmons que les amas ayant un environnement dense à grande échelle ont des profils de galaxies déviant de NFW ainsi que des RK diminués. Nous avons par la suite entrepris d'étudier la population "radio-quiet" des NAG en utilisant les spectres 6dFGS à notre disposition.

Book excerpt: This thesis is devoted to the estimation of the cosmic star formation history of the Universe through the study of spectral properties of galaxies observed by the Spitzer satellite in the mid-and-far- infrared. My work begins with the extraction of sources contained in the Spitzer images and with the creation of multi- wavelengths catalogs. Using those catalogs I study the spectral properties of infrared galaxies and their evolution with redshift. From the comparison of these properties with the predictions of standard spectral librairies, I show that galaxies situated beyond z~1.3 present significant evolutions in their spectral properties. Based on these spectral properties, I estimate the cosmic star formation history of the Universe from z~0 to z~2.3. This history is charaterized by a sharp increase of the star formation density of the Universe form z~ 0 and z~1, followed by a stabilisation phase up to z~2. This star formation density is dominated between z~0.8 and z~2 by luminous infrared galaxies with high star formation rate. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.
