Book Reflections and Musings From the Book of Revelation

Download or read book Reflections and Musings From the Book of Revelation written by Shirley McClerklin-Motley PhD and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2023-12-27 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John had been left out on Patmos to die alone. The courts assumed that there was nothing he could do there to promote Jesus. But they miscalculated. God chose John to write the book of Revelation, which some refer to as Apocalypse. That word means the revelation of what will take place in the Incarnation hidden in a humble form. It means to uncover. If you are frying fish, everyone around is aware of the distinctively rich aroma. The person cooking the fish does not have to be seen and the fish does not have to be seen, but the person smelling the aroma instinctively wants to take a closer look at the fish. This is an example of the Apocalypse. What we surmised is revealed. Satan hates the book of Revelation because it shows him for who and what he is. He is counting on us to be afraid of the book because it foretells his end. Join the author as she takes a detailed look at the book that describes the years leading to the end of the world.

Book Reflections on Revelation Part I Jesus and the Churches

Download or read book Reflections on Revelation Part I Jesus and the Churches written by Ray Ruppert and published by Tex Ware. This book was released on 2018-02-12 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you have ever been afraid to study the book of Revelation because the prophecies and the symbolism are too confusing, then this series of studies is for you. The prophecies and symbols will be studied in conjunction with the rest of the Bible so that you will learn from the Bible what God has to say in the book of Revelation. The objective of this study series is to bring you closer to Jesus and give you hope for the future. In doing this you will know Him more and will be able to serve Him better regardless of your circumstances. This study is not designed to tell you when, where, or why some country is going to invade Israel. It will not tell you when the rapture is going to occur but it analyzes Scripture so you can have an informed theology of the end-times. This is part one of a three-part series. This study includes thirteen lessons for one quarter of study. It will cover Revelation 1 - 3, Jesus and the seven churches. About the Author Ray Ruppert and his wife Terri have been life group (home Bible studies) leaders at Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, WA for nineteen years. They are currently serving as flock leader for four life groups. For several years, Ray has been writing questions for the church's life groups. The questions are based on the sermons at CHCC. Ray has a MA in theological studies from Liberty University. He has been a long time student of prophecy since becoming a Christian in 1974. Forward by Dr. Dwaine Braddy - Retired professor of Bible and Pastoral Ministries for 26 years at Northwest University, Kirkland, Washington. Mr. Ruppert has produced an effective study of the Book of Revelation as his use of questions followed by answers engage the student or group studying Revelation. He emphasizes the key principle of what the text meant THEN before what it means NOW, which I believe are crucial to understanding Revelation. The outline he used for the messages to the 7 churches is the same as I used when I taught Revelation at Northwest University. While I did not do an exhaustive evaluation of his studies, his interpretation corresponds to mine in areas such as the first seal in chapter 6 and the two witnesses in chapter 11. I commend Mr. Ruppert for the research, time and I'm sure, prayer that he has put into these three study guides, which I believe can lead one, whether a new believer or an "old-timer" in the faith like me, to desire to study this book that deals with lessons for today's church and events leading up to Christ's 2nd Coming, God's final Judgments, and the New Heavens and the New Earth! If he is able to present this class at our church, I for one would attend it. Shalom good friend and Maranatha, even so come LORD Jesus!

Book Reflections on Revelation in the Time of COVID

Download or read book Reflections on Revelation in the Time of COVID written by Susan E. Erikson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-05-28 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation is a good book for hard times. It offers one clear answer—Christ, the one who is, who was, and is to come. Revelation was written to protect our hearts from fear and encourage us on our journey towards home. John reminds us that the victory was decided long ago at the cross, and God has already won. We need to hear that assurance when we are in the trenches. It gives us strength to keep fighting and a great hope that “presses on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil 3:14). Susan Erikson’s poetry brings that timeless truth into the contemporary world in which we live.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16, ESV) Amen does not mean “the end,” rather “I agree” or “I confirm.” The sin of adultery is not only physical but spiritual as well. We are justified (forgiven of sin) at the point of conversion, but sanctification (being made holy) is a lifelong process. The curtain torn at Jesus’s crucifixion was over six inches thick and sixty feet tall. The Tree of Life is the real reason Adam and Eve were banished from the garden. Satan, once the morning star of heaven, the model of perfection, did not fall from heaven, he was shoved out by God for his arrogance and pride. George T. Yapuncich, a pastor, mentor, husband, father, farmer and retired international businessman, reflects on these and hundreds of other terms, doctrines and biblical thoughts in this anthology prepared for contemplation and growth in biblical understanding. Its purpose is to open God’s Word to comprehend His glory and majesty more fully. Each term is exhibited in a Bible verse, demonstrating its importance and usage. Through direct application the reader can more fully grasp the true connotation of these terms thus invoking thoughts and feelings over and above their primary or literal meanings. This is not a book of definitions, but a book of images. Its purpose is to encourage the inquisitive mind in not only mining God’s Word, but to more fully live out His Word in thought and deed.

Book Life Lessons from Revelation

Download or read book Life Lessons from Revelation written by Max Lucado and published by HarperChristian Resources. This book was released on 2018-11-27 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The end of the world… How do you react to that thought? Does it make you afraid or nervous? Excited? At peace? Or do you simply try not to think about it? The apostle John was privileged to preview the end of the world in a dream. While in exile on the island of Patmos, he experienced an amazing vision that gave him a glimpse of heaven. He saw the final battle between good and evil. He saw God's justice. He witnessed the assured victory for believers in Christ as all hell broke loose and all heaven came forth. He saw Jesus, born in a manger, now triumphant over Satan. John's description stretches our imagination, fuels our anticipation, and comforts us as we await the final curtain call. As you read, study, journal, and discuss the book of Revelation, watch for these key themes that Max will unpack throughout the book: God has a plan and a future for the world. God will be ultimately victorious over evil. There will be a final accounting for our faith and our lives. There is a better world in store. The Life Lessons with Max Lucado series brings the Bible to life in twelve lessons filled with intriguing questions, inspirational stories, and poignant reflections to take you deeper into God's Word. Each lesson includes: An opening reflection on the Bible book you're studying. Background information to deepen your understanding of the cultural and historical setting. An excerpt of the text (from the NIV and the NKJV). Exploration questions with plenty of room to write your own thoughts and notes. Inspirational thoughts from Max as well as a closing takeaway for further reflection. The Life Lessons series is ideal for use in both a small-group setting or for individual study.

Book Reflections on Revelation Part II The Seven Seals

Download or read book Reflections on Revelation Part II The Seven Seals written by Ray Ruppert and published by Tex Ware. This book was released on 2018-02-12 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second book in a three-part study of the book of Revelation. Part I covered the first three chapters of Revelation, Jesus and the seven churches. It included good salvation theology and teaching about how we can live as individuals as well as the way the Church really should be. Part I may be the easier portion of Revelation to study because there is so much practical application without as much need to analyze symbols and what is happening. Part II enters into the second portion of the book of Revelation that few people study because there are many symbols and varied views of how to interpret them. Part II covers John's vision of heaven with the glory of God followed by the opening of the seven seals of the scroll resulting in much destruction on the earth. It ends with chapter 14, just before the seven angels pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath. This book includes another thirteen lessons for one quarter of study. It will cover Revelation 4 through Revelation 14 concluding with the harvesting of the earth. About the Author Ray Ruppert and his wife Terri have been life group (home Bible studies) leaders at Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, WA for nineteen years. Book excerpt: Is death the end of our story, or do we go on? If life does continue after death, where and how will we live? What happens to us after we die is not only a matter of speculation, but also a matter of debate. This is particularly true within the church, and though some would like to believe that the issue has long been settled, it most certainly remains open for discussion. In The Death Myth, author and theologian Brian M. Rossiter investigates what the Bible actually says about the afterlife, and he carefully explains how an honest reflection on the traditional Christian view of death will show that this view is often misguided. This traditional view—that the deceased persist and live on as conscious immaterial souls—is a doctrine that while tenable may not cohere with scriptural truths about the nature of the soul and body, the timing of the resurrection, and the meaning of salvation. While many Christians believe that the human soul departs to either a place of bliss or a place of torment after death, few have truly evaluated the biblical teachings on the subject. More than that, the implications of our beliefs on the issue are rarely acknowledged. Can the soul live apart from the body? Do immaterial realms for the dead exist? Can ghosts or spirits communicate with the living? When these matters are deeply investigated, the conclusions may force us to reconsider everything we thought we knew about life after death and the very nature of our existence.

Book Thoughts Critical and Practical on the Book of Revelation Classic Reprint

Download or read book Thoughts Critical and Practical on the Book of Revelation Classic Reprint written by Uriah Smith and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2016-09-13 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Thoughts, Critical and Practical, on the Book of Revelation The Character of the Book. This is expressed in one word, Revelation. A revelation is something revealed, something clearly made known, not some thing hidden and concealed. Moses, in Deut. 29 29, tells us that the secret things belong unto the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever. The very title of the book, then, is a sufficient refutation of the popular opinion of to-day, that this book is among the hidden mysteries of God, and cannot be understood. Were this the case, it should bear some such title as The Mystery, or The Hidden Book certainly not that of The Revelation.
