Book excerpt: Textile industry in India is the second largest employment generator after agriculture. It holds significant status in India as it provides one of the fundamental necessities of the people. Textile processing is one of the important industries related with textile manufacturing operations. It is a general term that covers right from singeing to finishing & printing of fabric apart from giving huge value-addition at every stage of processing. A number of new innovations have led to the industrialization of the textile industry. The silk reeling techniques are excellent methods to produce superior grade raw silk which is used by the textile industry to produce exotic fabric. Silk reeling is the final and purely commercial phase of sericulture. It is concerned with unwinding of the silk filaments of the cocoon. The sericulture industry is agro based and flourishing mostly in rural areas. More than 50 per cent of silk is reeled by a villager using country charka which forms the cottage industry. Silk provides much needed work in several developing and labour rich countries. The textile industry is primarily concerned with the production of yarn, and cloth and the subsequent design or manufacture of clothing and their distribution. The raw material may be natural or synthetic using products of the chemical industry. Some of the fundamentals of the book are chemical modification of textile celluloses, fabric varieties, silk as a textile fibre, silk reeling technology, silk re-reeling technology, fluidized beds to textile processing, high alpha cellulose pulp for viscose rayon, reaction of cellulose with cross linking agents, textiles adhesives, flame retardants for textiles, halogenated flame retardants, antinomy and other organic compounds, surfactants, chemical used in textiles, etc. This book contains fabric varieties, silk reeling technology, cellulose ethers, and crease resistance of cellulose textiles, tone and shade control in textile, textiles adhesives, flame retardants for textiles, chemical used in textiles. This book will be resourceful to upcoming entrepreneur, Seri culturist, existing industries, technical institutions etc. TAGS Silk Reeling, Silk Reeling Methods, Silk Reeling Process, Sericulture, Textile Processing and Silk Reeling, Silk Reeling Industry, Sericulture Industry in India, Silk Textile Industry‎, Silk Reeling Machine, Profits in Silk Reeling, Silk Reeling Unit, Silk as Textile Fibre, Fabric Varieties, Chemical Modification of Textile Celluloses, Silk Reeling Technology, Silk Re-Reeling Technology, Fluidized Beds to Textile Processing, Cellulose Ethers, Nitrocellulose, Dissolving Pulp for Rayon Industry, Anti-Crease and Antishrink Finishes for Viscous Rayons, Crease Resistance of Cellulose Textiles, Heat Treatment of Resin-Treated Cellulosic Textiles, Tone and Shade Control in Textiles, Chlorine Retention of Resin Treated Cellulosic Fibres, Textiles Adhesives, Flame Retardants for Textiles, Halogenated Flame Retardants, Antinomy and Other Organic Compounds, Surfactants, Chemical Used in Textiles, Textile Manufacturing, Textile Manufacturing Process, Textile Industry, Textile Processing, Chemical Processing of Textiles, Textile Production Process, Manufacture of Alkylolamides, Formulation of Shampoos, Manufacture of IGEPON T, Manufacture of Alcohols, Manufacture of Alkyl Sulfates, Manufacture of Olefin Sulfonates, Formulation of Heavy Duty Detergents with Olefin Sulfonates, Manufacture of Fatty Acid, Manufacture of Alkyl Phenol, Manufacture of Alcohol Ether Sulfates, Manufacture of Fatty Amine Oxides, Formulation of Fatty Amine Oxides, Textile Processing Chemicals, Textile Processing Equipments, Textile Processing Technology, Textile Processing Units in India, Textile Plant, Textile Processing Plants, Printing Impressions, Npcs, Niir, Process Technology Books, Business Consultancy, Business Consultant, Project Identification and Selection, Preparation of Project Profiles, Startup, Business Guidance, Business Guidance to Clients, Startup Project, Startup Ideas, Project for Startups, Startup Project Plan, Business Start-Up, Business Plan for Startup Business, Great Opportunity For Startup, Small Start-Up Business Project, Best Small and Cottage Scale Industries, Startup India, Stand Up India, Small Scale Industries, New Small Scale Ideas for Silk Reeling, Textile Processing Business Ideas You Can Start on Your Own, Indian Small Scale Silk Reeling, Guide to Starting And Operating Small Business, Business Ideas for Textile Processing, How to Start Silk Reeling Business, Starting Silk Reeling, Start Your Own Silk Reeling Business, Textile Processing Business Plan, Business Plan for Textile Processing, Small Scale Industries in India, Silk Reeling Based Small Business Ideas in India, Small Scale Industry You Can Start on Your Own, Business Plan for Small Scale Industries, Set Up Textile Processing, Profitable Small Scale Manufacturing, How to Start Small Business in India, Free Manufacturing Business Plans, Small and Medium Scale Manufacturing, Profitable Small Business Industries Ideas, Business Ideas for Startup

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mind Reeling investigates how cinema displays and mirrors psychological disorders, such as bipolar disorder, amnesia, psychotic delusions, obsessive compulsive behavior, trauma, paranoia, and borderline personalities. It explores a range of genres, including biopics, comedies, film noirs, contemporary dramedies, thrillers, Gothic mysteries, and docufictions. The contributors open up critical approaches to audience fascination with film depictions of serious disturbances within the human psyche. Many films examined here have had little scholarly attention and commentary. These essays focus on how cinematic techniques contribute to popular culture's conception of mental dysfunction, trauma, and illness. This book reveals the complex artistic and generic patterns that produce contemporary images of psychopathology in cinema.

Book excerpt: “The deep relevance and the nuanced portrayal of the myriad effects of abuse on [the characters] lives are skillfully done. Layered and disquieting.” —Kirkus Reviews Award-winning author Lola Lafon continues her exploration of the psyches of young girls–their fragility, their resilience. Fontenay, a Parisian suburb, 1984. Cléo is twelve when her parents prod her into taking ballet classes. She drops out after a long year of feeling lost, not classy nor graceful enough, and undoubtedly not as rich as the other kids. By chance, she signs up for Modern Jazz class at a MJC–a state funded organization whose mission is to provide access to art and culture to all children. Modern Jazz is her calling, and soon Cléo is transformed, working out constantly, dreaming of becoming a professional dancer. That’s when she catches the attention of Cathy, an elegant middle-aged woman, who is a talent scout for Galatée–a foundation that gives fellowships to exceptionally gifted teenagers. Fascinated by Cathy and the many gifts with which this providential “godmother” is showering her, Cléo introduces her to her parents, receiving their blessing to spend more time with her, ultimately falling prey to Galatée’s trap. “The great strength of Reeling is the way Lafon weaves together social failures that, on the surface, seem quite disparate.” —Los Angeles Review of Books “An immersive, captivating story.” —Buzz magazine, UK “An impassioned novel on the consequences of sexual exploitation and the dead ends of forgiveness.” —Pages of Hackney, London “Lola Lafon writes for all those who have stayed in the shadows, all those whose voices cannot be heard, shaking off the contemporary mythology of powerful women.” —France-Amerique

Book The Role of Tradition in Japan s Industrialization

Download or read book The Role of Tradition in Japan s Industrialization written by Masayuki Tanimoto and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2006-05-25 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume explores Japan's industrialization from the perspective of "indigenous development", focusing on what may be identified as "traditional" or "indigenous" factors. Japanese industrialization has often been described as the process of transferring or importing technology and organization from Western countries. Recent research has, however, shown that economic development had already begun in pre-modern period (Tokugawa-era) in Japan. This economic development not onlyprepared Japan for the transfer from the West, but also formed the basis of the particular industrialization process which paralleled transplanted industrialization in modern Japan. The aim of the volume is to demonstrate this aspect of industrialization through the detailed studies of so-called"indigenous" industries. This collection of papers looks at the industries originating in the Tokugawa-era, such as weaving, silk-reeling and pottery, as well as the newly developed small workshops engaged in manufacturing machinery, soap, brash, buttons, etc. Small businesses in the tertiary sector, transportation and commerce, are also observed. Available for the first time in English, these papers shed new light on the role of "indigenous development" and our understanding of the dualistic character of Japan'seconomic development.

Book Textiles in the Pacific 1500 1900

Download or read book Textiles in the Pacific 1500 1900 written by Debin Ma and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Textiles in the Pacific, 1500-1900 brings together 13 articles which include both classics and lesser-known but important works related to the trade and production of textiles in the Pacific region, extending from the tip of Northeast Asia to the other end of South America and Australia. Collectively these articles bring out two central themes, as highlighted in the introduction. First, there is the leading role of textiles in linking up the economies across the Pacific in the era before the 19th-century rise of steam-engine-powered global integration. Second is the crucial role of textile manufacturing and trade in the early stage of industrialization for most of the developing Pacific economies after the 19th century. The volume also reflects both revolutionary shifts in paradigms and revisions of traditional consensus, and seeks to present a more balanced account of global trade and market integration in the early modern period.

This book was released on 2004-02-24 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the period of industrialisation in Japan from the 1870s to the 1930s, the textile industry was Japan's largest manufacturing industry, and the country's major source of export earnings. It had a predominantly female labour force, drawn mainly from the agricultural population. This book examines the institutions of the labour market of this critical industry during this important period for Japanese economic development. Based on extensive original research, the book provides a wealth of detail, showing amongst other things the complexity of the labour market, the interdependence of the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, and the importance of gender. It argues that the labour market institutions which developed in this period had a profound effect on the labour market and labour relations in the postwar years.

Book The Palgrave Handbook of Bondage and Human Rights in Africa and Asia

Download or read book The Palgrave Handbook of Bondage and Human Rights in Africa and Asia written by Gwyn Campbell and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-14 with total page 439 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the West, human bondage remains synonymous with the Atlantic slave trade. But large slave systems in Africa and Asia predated, co-existed, and overlapped with the Atlantic system—and have persisted in modified forms well into the twenty-first century, posing major threats to political and economic stability within those regions and worldwide. This handbook examines the deep historical roots of unfree labour in Africa and Asia along with its contemporary manifestations. It takes an innovative longue durée perspective in order to link the local and global, the past and present. Contributors trace shifting forms of forced labour in the region since circa 1800, connecting punctual shocks such as environmental crisis, conflict, market instability, and crop failure to human security threats such as impoverishment, violence, migration, kidnapping, and enslavement. Together, these chapters illuminate the historical and contemporary dimensions of bondage in Africa and Asia, with important implications for the fight against modern-day bondage and human trafficking.
