His parents were Charles Jackson and Hannah Holiday. He married Ann Maltby (1816-1892), daughter of Robert Maltby and Sarah Jeffery, in about 1836. They had ten children. They emigrated in 1845 and lived first in Monroe County, New York. They had moved to Wayland, Michigan by 1853. Charles died in 1883. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Michigan and New York.
