Book Meditation and Mantras

Download or read book Meditation and Mantras written by Vishnu Devananda and published by Penguin UK. This book was released on 2014-01-15 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘A mantra is a mystical energy encased in a sound structure . . . It steadies the mind and leads to the stillness of meditation.’ The modern lifestyle with its excesses and worldly desires, the constant need to be connected, and the rapid development in technology, has made stress and lifestyle-related diseases the norm. The need for meditation thus is more acute. Meditation calms the mind, brings focus and enhances the senses, resulting in a better quality of life and work. And with the right mantras, meditation becomes a highly effective tool in unleashing the immense potential within oneself. This book from the Sivananda Ashram explains what meditation and mantras are and how they can be effectively used to recharge oneself with divine energy, so that the tension of body and mind are gradually reduced.

Book To Merge Or Not to Merge

Download or read book To Merge Or Not to Merge written by Lewis B. Ware and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The movement towards Arab unity is not a recent phenomenon. The conditions and circumstances under which it has taken many of its modern forms change from day to day; nevertheless, the concept of Arab unity is based on a socio-historical rationale as old as the Arab people. Arab unity today reflects this rationale as a historical imperative and symbolically represents a desire to recreate the links to a past which many believe has never been broken. In the broadest sense, this study seeks to clarify the socio-historical rationale upon which the ideological superstructure of Arab unity rests and to show how its unifying thread runs through a seemingly unintelligible diversity of events. Insofar as recent happenings in the Middle East have contributed to the revival of the Arab unit movement, a discussion of its historical genesis cannot be avoided. Still, history itself does not provide the only answers because Arab unity is a response to the heartfelt psychological needs of a historic people. (Author).

Fashioned with rich symbolic structures, they convey archetypal qualities in enduring characters, winning for Steinbeck the 1962 Nobel Prize for Literature. Book Rudolf Steiner s Philosophie der Freiheit as the Foundation of the Logic of Beholding Thinking Religion of the Thinking Will Organon of the New Cultural Epoch Vol 2

Download or read book Rudolf Steiner s Philosophie der Freiheit as the Foundation of the Logic of Beholding Thinking Religion of the Thinking Will Organon of the New Cultural Epoch Vol 2 written by G. A. Bondarev and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-09-15 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An introduction to Anthroposophical Methodology and a complete analysis of Rudolf Steiner's 'Philosophy of Freedom (Spiritual Activity)', Gennady Bondarev's 'Organon' demonstrates that the methodology intrinsic to Anthroposophy is fundamental to and capable of unifying all modern sciences as it describes the monistic sensible-supersensible reality. Through its anthropocentric and ontological character, this methodology's actualization implies an evolutionary change of both the human subject and the process of cognition itself. Rudolf Steiner's fundamental epistemological work is thereby shown to be the foundation for the development of a new kind of 'beholding' thinking - what Goethe began to experience and called "anschauende Urteilskraft." This is volume 2 of 3. The volumes, taken together, contain a completely new translation of 'Die Philosophie der Freiheit' by Graham B. Rickett.

In contrast to the narrow, actor training-only analysis that dominated 20th-century explorations of the technique, authors Cass Fleming and Tom Cornford, along with contributors Caoimhe McAvinchey, Roanna Mitchell, Daron Oram and Sinéad Rushe, focus on devising, directing and collective creation, dramaturgy and collaborative playwriting, scenography, voice, movement and dance, as well as socially-engaged and therapeutic practices, all of which are at the forefront of international theatre-making. Download or read book The Shelter of Each Other written by Mary Pipher, PhD and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2008-11-25 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Simple solutions for survival in this family-unfriendly culture…Eye-opening…heart-wrenching and uplifting.”—San Francisco Chronicle Even more resonant today than at its original publication in 1996, The Shelter of Each Other traces the effects of our society’s “anti-family” way of life, where parents are overtaxed, children are undersupervised, and technology is rapidly dictating how we interact. As she did in her number-one bestseller Reviving Ophelia, Mary Pipher illuminates how our families are suffering at the hands of shifting cultural norms, and she snaps our gaze into crisp focus. Drawing on the fascinating stories of families rich and poor, angry and despairing, religious and skeptical, and probing deep into her own family memories and experiences, Pipher clears a path to the strength and energy at the core of family life. Compassionate and heart-wrenching, The Shelter of Each Other is an impassioned call for us to gather our families in our arms and hold on to them for dear life.
