Book Hadron Spectrum of Quenched QCD on a 323 64 Lattice

Download or read book Hadron Spectrum of Quenched QCD on a 323 64 Lattice written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preliminary results from a hadron spectrum calculation of quenched Quantumchromodynamics on a 323 × 64 lattice at? = 6.5 are reported. The hadron spectrum calculation is done with staggered quarks of masses, m{sub q}a = 0.001, 0.005 and 0.0025. We use two different sources in order to be able to extract the? mass in addition to the usual local light hadron masses. The numerical simulation is executed on the Intel Touchstone Delta computer. The peak speed of the Delta for a 16 × 32 mesh configuration is 41 Gflops for 32 bit precision. The sustained speed for our updating code is 9.5 Gflops. A multihit metropolis algorithm combined with an over-relaxation method is used in the updating and the conjugate gradient method is employed for Dirac matrix inversion. Configurations are stored every 1000 sweeps.

Book Quenched Hadron Spectrum of QCD

Download or read book Quenched Hadron Spectrum of QCD written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We calculate hadron spectrum of quantum chromodynamics without dynamical fermions on a 323 × 64 lattice volume at [beta] = 6.5. Using two different wall sources of staggered fermion whose mass is 0.01, 0.005 and 0.0025 under the background gauge configurations, we extract local light hadron masses and the {triangle} masses and compare these hadron masses with those from experiments. The numerical simulation is executed on the Intel Touchstone Delta computer. We employ multihit metropolis algorithm with over-relaxation method steps to update gauge field configuration and gauge field configuration are collected at every 1000 sweeps. After the gauge field configuration is fixed to Coulomb gauge, the conjugate gradient method is used for Dirac matrix inversion.

Book A Pot pourri of Results in QCD from Large Lattice Simulations on the CM5

Download or read book A Pot pourri of Results in QCD from Large Lattice Simulations on the CM5 written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a status report on simulations being done on 323 × 64 lattices at [beta] = 6.0 using quenched Wilson fermions. Results for the spectrum, decay constants, the kaon B-parameter B{sub K}, and semi-leptonic form factors are given based on the current statistical sample of 28 configuration. These Grand Challenge calculations are being done on the CM5 at Los Alamos in collaboration with G. Kilcup, S. Sharpe and P. Tamayo. They end with a brief statement of code performance.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past decade high performance computing has demonstrated the ability to model and predict accurately a wide range of physical properties and phenomena. Many of these have had an important impact in contributing to wealth creation and improving the quality of life through the development of new products and processes with greater efficacy, efficiency or reduced harmful side effects, and in contributing to our ability to understand and describe the world around us. Following a survey ofthe U.K.'s urgent need for a supercomputingfacility for aca demic research (see next chapter), a 256-processor T3D system from Cray Research Inc. went into operation at the University of Edinburgh in the summer of 1994. The High Performance Computing Initiative, HPCI, was established in November 1994 to support and ensure the efficient and effective exploitation of the T3D (and future gen erations of HPC systems) by a number of consortia working in the "frontier" areas of computational research. The Cray T3D, now comprising 512 processors and total of 32 CB memory, represented a very significant increase in computing power, allowing simulations to move forward on a number offronts. The three-fold aims of the HPCI may be summarised as follows; (1) to seek and maintain a world class position incomputational scienceand engineering, (2) to support and promote exploitation of HPC in industry, commerce and business, and (3) to support education and training in HPC and its application.

Book QCD Spectrum from the Lattice

Download or read book QCD Spectrum from the Lattice written by and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Considerable progress has been made in the last year to derive the spectrum from QCD in the quenched approximation. I review the results for the proton to rho mass ratio and show that we are close to getting results to within 10%. I present new results for 0{sup ++} and 2{sup ++} glueballs. These results are qualitative since we do not address the question of mixing of glueballs with quark states. Finally, I give a status report on the full QCD calculations (2 flavors of dynamical Wilson fermions) being done on the Connection Machine 2. 12 refs., 3 figs.
