Rummond in his scarlet coatee and ri hfiy waving sword, and a fight for the standard - a very sturdy fight, _ the tableau passes all too soon, for one is so deeply and intensely interested in it all. Now what is this, the soldiers are all e and yes, that's Montgomery's tavern. We have jumped from 1815 to l 7. The tavern is most realistic, all lighted up inside, rebel reformers moving about in their high-necked body-coats and stocks, and tall hats, and tightly strapped trousers, some of them cloaked and booted, and here a quaint body of militia - of course you'll all laugh over the Awkward squad-i laughed until my eyes ran' water. There is William Lyon Mackenzie-that intense reformer, moods and aspirations. Yes, Lount, Mathews, Van Egmond, the soldier; Ral h, Baldwin, Gibson, Shepherd, Carmichael, the carpenter who carried the 021g of truce; Anderson whom Powell shot Colonel Moodie, had strong man, also killed - all pass in the pageant, living embodiments of dead men, replete with life and action. Here come Colonels Fitzgibbon, Allan, mcnah, Chisholm, Jarvis, . Mclean, Bond-head, the Hamilton Militia, the Toronto Volunteers, Major Cafirae and the Artillery, the Sherifi's men, a fight, and they have it; Montgomery's tavern reduced to ruins.
